| | | | Product Guides | | | | | The Linksys Wireless-G PCI Card with SpeedBooster installs in most desktop and tower PCs, and lets you put your computer almost anywhere in the building without the cost and hassle of running network cables. Now you don't have to drill holes in your walls and climb through the attic or cellar to get connected to the network. Once you're connected, you can keep in touch with your e-mail, access the Internet, use instant messaging to chat with friends, and share files and other resources such as printers and network storage with other computers on the network.
The Wireless-G PCI Card with SpeedBooster incorporates the next generation of Wireless-G. In standard Wireless-G (802.11g) mode, the Card can connect to wireless networks at an incredible 54Mbps. With our new SpeedBooster technology enabled, your "real-world" wireless network performance increases by up to 35%! Unlike other speed-enhancing technologies, SpeedBooster is 802.11 compliant, fully compatible with standard Wireless-G, and a "good neighbor" to other wireless devices and technologies, using a single 2.4GHz channel as specified by the official wireless standard. And, unlike other technologies, with SpeedBooster you'll see an overall speed improvement even when running a mixed network of SpeedBooster and regular Wireless-G devices.
For added versatility, it can also interoperate with all the 11Mbps Wireless-B (802.11b) products found in homes, businesses, and public wireless hotspots around the country. In any mode, your wireless communications are protected by industrial-strength Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) encryption, so your data stays secure.
So don't hassle with running cables through your house -- get your desktop connected the easy way with the Linksys Wireless-G PCI Card with SpeedBooster.

5 of 5 Great product Monday, July 14, 2008 A Customer from Buffalo NY
Great product running on new Dell computers, we bought 5 to make our office wireless, only 1/5 was defective, but we think it could have been the way it was installed. The other 4 work amazing with great signal strength and easy to use networking software to connect to your wireless (we're using a linksys wireless-G router). Would recommend for anyone who wants to have a desktop that can be relocated without having to re-wire Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 No problems Monday, June 23, 2008 Steve from Atlanta, GA
Had this for a few weeks now. No problems. It's fast and steady. I did not use the software that came with it.
Buy.com got it here faster than expected, as always! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Product Saturday, June 07, 2008 TNV from NY
I would buy this product again. Was not too expensive, though not all that cheap either. Works very well. Not too difficult to use. Also, seems like it'll be a reliable product. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Card Wednesday, June 04, 2008 Pat in NC from Salisbury, NC
This card is working wonderfully at a distance of over 200 feet from my router.
Installed one on an XP box...very easy. Installed another in a VISTA box...took a little more time and had to use Network Center to make it work.

5 of 5 Extraordinary Value - Linksys Wireless-G PCI Adapt Saturday, May 31, 2008 Happy User from Tacoma, Washington
At first I was a bit wary of the extraordinarily low price found on Buy.com compared to other vendors, but trusted that Buy.com would not steer me to an unscrupulous vendor. It arrived ahead of time, and installation was very easy. I achieved the extra speed I anticipated by using a PCI card over the USB version I was previously using. Was this review helpful?

I searched the web for the lowest price on this product and Buy.com was the lowest. When I ordered it, I was anticipating approx. 5 business days to receive it. I received it the next day!

The Linksys WMP54GS pci card currently works great for my desktop. The only issue I had was the actual installation. While opening up my computer and physically installing was easy, the proprietary Lynsys software could not connect my computer to the wireless network. The solution? Don't install the Lynksys program. Use windows to manage which wireless network you want to connect to. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 SpeedBooster won't work with Vista Sunday, February 24, 2008 A Customer from Farmington Hills, MI
Easy to install (both hardware and software) and reasonably priced. Works fine with older Linksys 802.11b/g access points fine. As noted on the box with a tiny label, the SpeedBooster is not compatible on Vista. Non-SpeedBooster version is a bit cheaper. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great Hardware, poor software Sunday, May 27, 2007 A Customer from Mountainview, CA
Fantastic, quality hardware... but the "Linksys Connectivity" Software could use some work. If you want to connect the new card to a Network that is not broadcasting the SSID... it is all but impossible. They do not offer an easy, intuitive way to "manually" do this. I had to enable the broadcast, connect, then disable the broadcast again. Fairly sad consifering Linksys is the owner. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 works great Monday, May 14, 2007 mcrimiaz@yahoo.com from Phx,az.
Super easy setup and great signal where it used to be very low with my old card Was this review helpful?

I was a bit hesitant to purchase this card because of so many reports of XP issues. However I thought I'd give it a try as I've never had any problems with linksys equipment in the past.
It couldn't have been simpler - install and go - no issues with XP pro at all. I'm on the second floor w/ a linksys router in the basement and I'm getting 54Mbps with Good signal strength most of the time.
As with most of the linksys stuff it is a bit expensive compared to others but overall I'm glad I took the chance and glad I didn't buy it at the local Best Buy where it was $79 instead of $50. Was this review helpful?
