We have been working with Windows Media Center for over 3 years and with the Lynksys media extenders we have met our goal. We pay for one set top box but are able to watch TV in 3 rooms. We purchased an X Box 360 in the spring and used it as an extender but wasn't pleased with the overall apperance of the video on our DLP 52" monitor. We record a lot of televison programs and the only drqsback is that you must have multiple signals. Since we use one set top box we can record but are unable to watch any othr progams at the same time.

it is great for watching most of my movies but have to Google how to get most of the movies to play you will need to change some files and download transcode 360 toget the most out of it but its worth the pain now im able to see all my moves in living room but its a little slow some times you will hate it but i would recommend it if you have patience and don't wont holes all thought you house from wires

I am using this unit on a D-Link DIR-655 wireless N network. Works as advertised. However, I do have trouble watching DVD's located on my desktop computer when other devices want to access my wireless network. The video gets very choppy and wants to freeze; as long as there's no other network activity going on, everthing works great. I really like this unit in comparison to my D-Link DSM-320 I was using previously. And the look and feel of Media Center navigation is very user friendly. I would like to see the FF & rewind functions work better, they lag terribly and don't have any real usefulness. Even so, this has been a good purchase, but don't set your sights too high, especially using a wireless connection.

2 of 5 Don't buy it...no the wireless N isn't good enough Thursday, October 23, 2008

Two reasons not to buy this. ONE: If you aren't going to hard wire this to your network, the only thing you will be able to semi-reliably stream is music. I'm using wireless n and video is choppy and music loses signal every once in a while. TWO: Linksys support is HORRIBLE. I called them b/c my remote's record button came pressed all the way in. Instead of sending me a new remote, they wanted me to return the whole thing to buy.com. This is after I wasted the time setting it up.
