I have never purchased a refurbished item from BUY or any other online store but it was hard to find a deal on a wireless game adapter. So I took the jump and I am very happy with my purchase. Easy setup and no problem with my Xbox 360 or Linksys home network. No lag or delays during online game play. Its worth a try for the price!

I bought this to provide an internet connection (via my wireless network) to our Dish Network DVR Receiver. The setup was pretty simple once I gave in and actually read the directions. The unit has been running constantly for approximately two weeks and I'm not aware of any interruption on the internet feed to the Dish receiver -- and the receiver complains if there is an interruption, so I'm pretty confident there hasn't been. Lastly, I was a bit concerned about buying refurbished, but other than the packaging identifying it as such, I would never have known the difference. Was this review helpful?

Got this unit, set it up with little complication... unit didn't seem to set up right when I plugged it into a computer on the network, so I plugged it into the router instead and it set up just fine. Only complaint is that there seems to be a short in the AC socket on the unit itself (I feel relatively confident that it's there rather than in the wire/plug on the adapter). Unit does not receive power unless pressure is placed on the side of the plug. Rather than dealing with a return on an item that's usually out of stock, I simply wrapped a rubber band around the AC plug and the base of the antenna to apply constant pressure to the AC plug, and now it works just fine. Not a prime solution, but really the most I feel like doing at this time.
BTW, I'm using this for a DirecTV HR20 DVR to get it on my wireless network, if anyone is curious. Has been doing a fine job the last three weeks. Was this review helpful?

the unit was DOA. returned for a refund. got my money back in 3 weeks from geeks.com. went to the store and bought a new one since this one was refurbished.
dealing with geeks.com was alright. i thought it would be difficult but it was not. would buy from them again.
besides all these issues, this unit does the job.
