The Linksys Wireless-G PCI Card with SpeedBooster installs in most desktop and tower PCs, and lets you put your computer almost anywhere in the building without the cost and hassle of running network cables. Now you don't have to drill holes in your walls and climb through the attic or cellar to get connected to the network. Once you're connected, you can keep in touch with your e-mail, access the Internet, use instant messaging to chat with friends, and share files and other resources such as printers and network storage with other computers on the network.

The Wireless-G PCI Card with SpeedBooster incorporates the next generation of Wireless-G. In standard Wireless-G (802.11g) mode, the Card can connect to wireless networks at an incredible 54Mbps. With our new SpeedBooster technology enabled, your "real-world" wireless network performance increases by up to 35%! Unlike other speed-enhancing technologies, SpeedBooster is 802.11 compliant, fully compatible with standard Wireless-G, and a "good neighbor" to other wireless devices and technologies, using a single 2.4GHz channel as specified by the official wireless standard. And, unlike other technologies, with SpeedBooster you'll see an overall speed improvement even when running a mixed network of SpeedBooster and regular Wireless-G devices.

For added versatility, it can also interoperate with all the 11Mbps Wireless-B (802.11b) products found in homes, businesses, and public wireless hotspots around the country. In any mode, your wireless communications are protected by industrial-strength Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) encryption, so your data stays secure.

So don't hassle with running cables through your house -- get your desktop connected the easy way with the Linksys Wireless-G PCI Card with SpeedBooster.

5 of 5 Worked better than expected Tuesday, November 11, 2008
    A Customer from Atlanta, GA

I downloaded the drivers direct from Linksys based on other reviews and installed card without any problems using windows wireless as the wireless manager. At the distance I have the computer from the router this worked better than expected. I did not even need to use a better antenna.

3 of 5 The speed seems to be lying to me Wednesday, October 15, 2008
    A Customer from arlington, va
I had my XP box running wired but wanted to move it downstairs to the basement. Bought this card. Connection was easy. It says it has very good signal strength and running at 54mbps. But it's slower than dialup! I have FiOS so I know it's not the connection speed. Takes forever to load pages and sometimes I have to run the wire down to my basement when I want to watch a video online and not have it be choppy.

    5 of 5 Signal Range Tuesday, September 23, 2008
    A Customer from California
I bought 2 linksys wireless PCI cards and compare this WMP54GS(speed boost) with WMP54G(no speed boost), I see the WMP54G has about the same speed with GS but receives stronger signals. WMP54GS receive ~ 68% signal strength @ 50ft WMP54G receive ~ 80% signal strength @ 50ft So I rather use the one without speedboost.

5 of 5 It works for me Saturday, September 06, 2008
    A Customer from Pendleton, Indiana
I am about 50 ft from the linksys router. Since both products are the same brand, I think that helps make them more compatible. It was fairly easy to set up. Just follow the instructions and install the software first, then install the hardware.

    3 of 5 Poor Range Sunday, August 31, 2008
    Clsmith from Houston Tx
The card was a breeze to install. The biggest disappoint I have with a week of use is the range of the card is weak. I live a in an apartment and my computer is located 100 feet or less from my wireless router. The signal strength is very low and will periodically lose connection. I am going to move my computer to the dining room as a result.

5 of 5 Works great but not real great Wednesday, August 13, 2008
    A Customer from Pikeville, NC
This card works but the range is not what I expected. I have this computer setting in the same room with another, just 10 feet farther from the hub, and the signal is half what the other one is but I would recommend it to anyone wanting to set up a wireless network without a lot of problems. The biggest problem is that the information concerning shipping that I got from Buy.com was not always what they said.

5 of 5 Does the Job Tuesday, July 29, 2008
    A Customer from Fairmont, WV
Straight forward, simple install on XP. No problems at all with drivers or install. Card provides quick access across my house through a few walls. Very pleased.

    5 of 5 Great product Monday, July 14, 2008
    A Customer from Buffalo NY
Great product running on new Dell computers, we bought 5 to make our office wireless, only 1/5 was defective, but we think it could have been the way it was installed. The other 4 work amazing with great signal strength and easy to use networking software to connect to your wireless (we're using a linksys wireless-G router). Would recommend for anyone who wants to have a desktop that can be relocated without having to re-wire

    4 of 5 No problems Monday, June 23, 2008
    Steve from Atlanta, GA
Had this for a few weeks now. No problems. It's fast and steady. I did not use the software that came with it. Buy.com got it here faster than expected, as always!

    5 of 5 Great Product Saturday, June 07, 2008

I would buy this product again. Was not too expensive, though not all that cheap either. Works very well. Not too difficult to use. Also, seems like it'll be a reliable product.

    5 of 5 Great Card Wednesday, June 04, 2008
Pat in NC from Salisbury, NC
This card is working wonderfully at a distance of over 200 feet from my router. Installed one on an XP box...very easy. Installed another in a VISTA box...took a little more time and had to use Network Center to make it work.

    5 of 5 Extraordinary Value - Linksys Wireless-G PCI Adapt Saturday, May 31, 2008
    Happy User from Tacoma, Washington
At first I was a bit wary of the extraordinarily low price found on Buy.com compared to other vendors, but trusted that Buy.com would not steer me to an unscrupulous vendor. It arrived ahead of time, and installation was very easy. I achieved the extra speed I anticipated by using a PCI card over the USB version I was previously using.

5 of 5 Linksys Wireless-G PCI Card with SpeedBooster - WM Monday, May 26, 2008
    Eric from Wichita, KS
I searched the web for the lowest price on this product and Buy.com was the lowest. When I ordered it, I was anticipating approx. 5 business days to receive it. I received it the next day! The Linksys Wireless-G PCI Card with SpeedBooster - WMP54GS is working flawlessly and I am extremely pleased with everything overall.

5 of 5 Satisfied with the product Saturday, May 24, 2008
    Chris from Birmingham, Al
The Linksys WMP54GS pci card currently works great for my desktop. The only issue I had was the actual installation. While opening up my computer and physically installing was easy, the proprietary Lynsys software could not connect my computer to the wireless network. The solution? Don't install the Lynksys program. Use windows to manage which wireless network you want to connect to.

    4 of 5 SpeedBooster won't work with Vista Sunday, February 24, 2008
A Customer from Farmington Hills, MI
Easy to install (both hardware and software) and reasonably priced. Works fine with older Linksys 802.11b/g access points fine. As noted on the box with a tiny label, the SpeedBooster is not compatible on Vista. Non-SpeedBooster version is a bit cheaper.

4 of 5 Great Hardware, poor software Sunday, May 27, 2007
    A Customer from Mountainview, CA
Fantastic, quality hardware... but the "Linksys Connectivity" Software could use some work. If you want to connect the new card to a Network that is not broadcasting the SSID... it is all but impossible. They do not offer an easy, intuitive way to "manually" do this. I had to enable the broadcast, connect, then disable the broadcast again. Fairly sad consifering Linksys is the owner.

5 of 5 Worked Fine with XP Pro Wednesday, August 24, 2005
    A Customer from Williston VT
I was a bit hesitant to purchase this card because of so many reports of XP issues. However I thought I'd give it a try as I've never had any problems with linksys equipment in the past. It couldn't have been simpler - install and go - no issues with XP pro at all. I'm on the second floor w/ a linksys router in the basement and I'm getting 54Mbps with Good signal strength most of the time. As with most of the linksys stuff it is a bit expensive compared to others but overall I'm glad I took the chance and glad I didn't buy it at the local Best Buy where it was $79 instead of $50.
