5 of 5 Great Product Wednesday, January 07, 2009 Josh from Seattle, WA
I recently upgraded a Docsis 1.0 Linksys cable modem with this new Docsis 2.0 cable modem and there was a huge difference. It was like going from dial-up to fiber. I have Comcast and the process took 5 minutes to upgrade to the new modem's MAC address. I was instantly getting close to 20 Mb/s download up from 3 Mb/s download. I would highly recommend that if you suspect your cable modem is old and running Docsis 1.0 then this is the solution. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Not as Good as my befcmu10 Wednesday, December 31, 2008 BillK from El Dorado, CA
While this modem is an upgrade to my older BEFCMU10 modem it does not seem to work as good. I have difficulty accessing the modem settings and the log appears empty most times. When the log does contain entries the date/time is not set correctly. Connection speeds appear to be about the same as prior modem result. Comcast is the broadband carrier. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Happy With Purchase Tuesday, December 09, 2008 A Customer from Centreville, VA
Replaced a Toshiba modem that Cox said was nearing obsolescence. Installation was easy although it took two calls to Cox to get their system to recognize the modem. No problems since then. Uses half the power of the Toshiba (3W vs. 6W) and runs much cooler. Small desktop footprint. As always, fast shipping from Buy.com. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 An Outstanding Cable Modem Saturday, December 06, 2008 Gerald DeSantis from Arizona
I owned several Motorola cable modems in the past. The first would periodically stop working and had to be reset about once a month. The second stopped working when there was a thunderstorm about 5 miles away.
The Linksys CM100 is a very capable device. I plugged it into the cable and the CableOne software recognized the new MAC number. I entered my name and password and was online in about one minute. The performance is very good with higher upload and download speeds and the unit is cool to the touch.
I am very pleased with the product. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good modem, could be cheaper..... Monday, November 26, 2007 A Customer from Gaithersburg,MD
I bought this same modem at Staples during Black friday a few days back for only $40...It's very easy to use and you don't even need to install it to your PC unless you're using a USB connection(which isn't recommended if you're using high speed internet). Overall I'm satisfied with this modem but I wouldn't buy it for $60.... Was this review helpful?
