4 of 5 they break easily Tuesday, December 30, 2008 A Customer from Orlando, FL
they break real easily as everyone else said. I bought 3 of them, they have all broken. however, LG was very easy with the exchange and switched them all to a different model which does not have the same problem, free of charge. they even paid my shipping to them. took about 3 weeks. (swapped for LG-HBS-250) Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Worked good till Thursday, July 31, 2008 Ritchie H from Portland, OR
Had a pair since Feb 08. Everything was pretty good, sound quality, range, ease of use. Sometimes my phone would restart itself, only happens while playing music through the headseat. That's a pain, having to reload the playlist and repair the headset.
Was a little painful to wear at first but I guess I built up ear calluses because after a week or two the pain went away.
Unfortunately, they just snapped. Going to try and send them back, but it doesn't look like that will be a permanent solution till they fix the problem during manufacturing. Was this review helpful?

I bought these even though I saw that others were complaining about the quality of the product. Well I should've listened. The headset earpiece snapped right off. Even though I have bought the extended warranty, I was instructed that I need to go to LG for a replacement. I have gotten no where with LG after a month. I am hoping Buy.com takes care of this now.
The sound quality was ok but once you are outside it's horrible. Spend the money on a higher quality stereo BT headset. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Ear Pain Wednesday, May 28, 2008 Chris from Los Angeles, CA
Sound quality is quite good and controls are as expected. I'm ordering a different pair of stereo bluetooth headphones because these hurt the back of my ears far too much after only a short period of time. If you're blessed with metalic ears then the sound quality is great, even playing games, but for those of us with human appendages... Ouch! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 HEADSET IS AWESOME Saturday, May 17, 2008 A Customer from LARNED,KS.
I bought this bluetooth headset by LG. It is probably one of the best products that I've encountered. I'm a truck driver and being "hands free" is very important to me. But having a headset that is comfortable with good performance and ease of use is important also. This headset is AWESOME!!!!! It has a talk time of about 10+ hours and the quality of the sound is darn near perfect. I would definately say BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!! It is everything you could want in a headset. Also-my MP3 player sounds pretty good as this headset is for both phones and players at the same time. What a deal!! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 A very good one and simple too Friday, May 16, 2008 AKR from Alpharetta
Go for this one if you are not sure what to buy for bluetooth needs! This serves as headset for phone as well as computer that has bluetooth adapter. I am a medium guy from India and the size fits well but not very well. That is why, overall rating is 4. By the way, I kept my windows down while driving and with this headset on, my cell call is still clear and nobody on the otherside complained any noise. I am into cheap gadgets but for a change, I paid little more to get this one(got a coupon from GOOGLE checkout guys to use it on buys.com) but I am very satisfied. Was this review helpful?

1 of 5 Not worth it Monday, May 12, 2008 maeks84 from Kansas
Headset broke in the same spot as other people in less than a month. Right where the headset rests on the ear. Poor design. Called LG, first person said that I could return it, but that it would be sent right back to me because the damage was physical. Talked to a manager and she said to send it in. Did so and sure enough, got the headset back with a note stating customer abuse, return as-is. I was lied to by the manager who probably just wanted me off the phone. (added another $5 to the cost) This is unacceptable for a product that cost over $100 originally.
Button controls seemed fine and battery life was good. It did create a whine in the background when playing sound and was slightly uncomfortable though. If it had held together it would have been acceptable, but not great.
Bottom-line - A product that doesn't last a month of normal use is not a product at all. I am now very reluctant to recommend any LG products. Maybe look at the Jabra BT620s instead. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works great - Bought two Saturday, May 10, 2008 J.R. from Eagle, WI
I accidentally bought two when my computer crashed during the order process. I planned to send the extra one back, but liked the first one so much I decided to keep them both. One for home and one for the office. They work as advertised: Have pretty good sound, are extremely easy to pair, and have long battery life. I rarely have them on for more than 90 minutes at a stretch, and comfort during that period is not an issue. I guess the only drawback is they make me look a bit like Woody Allen pretending to be the droid in “Sleeper”.
When reading comments made about audio quality, remember it takes two to tango. I have several stereo sources to pair with: a Sony AC powered unit for home stereo, a standard LG 8350 phone, a VX6800 Windows Mobile 6 phone, my Dell laptop, and an iCombi dongle to plug into any 3.5mm stereo device like an iPod, Zune, or Sansa. There are probably a few more floating around here, but you get my point. The audio quality (loudness, clarity, bass, dynamic range) is different with each one of these devices. The Sony beats all others by a wide margin with the iCombi being the worst. Then there’s equalizer settings to fool with in some of the devices. In my humble opinion as an electrical engineer, the LG HBS-200 does a pretty good job of reproducing whatever is given to it.
I read some reviewers had problems with the units ceasing to turn on after charging. While they may indeed have had defective units, I thought I had this problem several times, only to find the “hold” switch had slipped to the “on” position during handling.
Conclusion: Very Satisfied Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Works well. Tuesday, April 29, 2008 s_narayanan from Cypress, CA
This is what I think after using this for couple of days.
1. It was easy to setup.
2. The charging takes forever. The manual says 3 hours but in reality it takes about 4 to 5 hours.
3. When I move betwween one room to another the sound stops. I guess the 33 ft limit is not between walls. I think I can live with that.
4. The power connection to the headset is kind of hard to connect.
Thanks

I have had this only 3 months and use it everyday. The band behind the neck broke. LG service is not responsive either. I would probably not buy another pair of these and would not recommend them to anyone for the fact that the band broke.
If the band would not have broke I would have loved these.

4 of 5 I think Mic quality depends on your phone Saturday, April 19, 2008 GrammyPammy from Pittsburgh, Pa
I've used this headset first with my LG Envy phone, then with the new LG Voyager and have had no problems on either end with callers hearing me or me them. Judging from experiences I've had with both wired and wireless headsets on both home wireless phones & other cell phones and headsets, much depends on getting good match between phone/headset (even ones of the same brand don't necessarily work better than others - it's pretty much trial & error). So I'd be willing to bet that could be the problem other users have with callers. It's frustrating, but doesn't mean this headset is bad, just not a good match for your particular phone. My only complaint is that the behind the head band is not adjustable (as is my home wireless phone headset). I use mine often at the grocery store to drown out screaming kids and because the band is rather wide set, it tends to snag on coat collars. Other than that, with well over a year of use and it totes it pretty much unprotected in an open sleeve in my purse, all functions work still work just fine. Even though I paid the higher price back when they'd first come out, I'm very happy mine (Wishlist for LG, next time include a carry case please). Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Excellent product at nominal cost Friday, March 21, 2008 A Customer from King of Prussia, PA
I tried 2 other products and returned back to the store. This one is working excellent with Laptop Realplayer and TREO 680. Pairing was very simple. I m yet to try the advance functions like voice dailing etc. Sound quality is very good for the price. Ofcourse,You can't compare this with BOSE or SONY noise cancelling headphones. I'm very satisfied with this and would recomend to anyone who is budget concious. Was this review helpful?

i got the black dongle from bluesoleil (the one for 5 bucks) and the HBS-200 - don't down the new bluesoleil software from there site you will have to pay for it - the one that comes with the dongle works and is free, after playing with software configs - it works fine no issues (read the manual if u are not tech savy), 3 hrs to charge, and clear depending on your eq settings for audio, bass, treb, ETC have to be played with depending on what u are using like winamp on the pc or Enabled players, voice calls works fine - mic seems clear on the other end of the call ... for 40+ bucks - I gotz 4 of them.

This headset worked fine for a month, and then soon after it would not charge. Everytime I charged the red light would turn ON on the headset indicating it was charging, once the light turned blue (fully charged) I would try to use it and it would not turn ON. If I tried to recharge again the light was red again, indicating there was no charge in the battery although I had just finished charging it. I think this is a faulty/old battery issue. I called buy.com customer service, and was told to contact LG customer service. After which I was asked to ship the product to them at my own cost ($10) and they would look at it. The LG CS people kept trying to convince me the charger was broken, but I know for a fact that the charger works well. I just shipped the headphones to them today, I will keep you updated on how it turns out. THis is a real pain, considering this is supposed to be a new product. The headset itself was easy to pair and use, although the voice dialing feature was a little flaky and would work on and off. Sound quality was not bad, but since it stopped working after just a month I have to give it a 1 on performance. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 the buttons control stop working Friday, March 07, 2008 A Customer from flower mound, tx
Buttons on the headset stop working only after a few uses. Need to send it in this weekend for repair but they said it will take 3 weeks.. Also, one additional problem is the headset does not connect with my windows mobile phone right away (takes a couple times on/off on the headset before it would connect with my mobile phone). My first time using LG brand and quite a disappointment. Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Cheap, cheerful and you get to look like Princess Wednesday, March 05, 2008 Mike from Sammamish, WA
Summary:
These headphones have a reasonable sound quality when playing audio through them, though suffers from poor microphone quality for phone use and have a public ridicule factor.
Detail:
My phone is an AT&T Tilt smartphone PDA and this offers the full range of supported functionality from the audio playback as well as phone calls. The intent was to use these at the gym and answer the occassional phone call without having a phone and cable showing.
In use, the headphones are light and do not bounce off your head unless exercising vigourously or upside-down (don't ask...). The stereo audio quality is good, and the volume can get loud which I also liked.
I could not recommend these headphones for receiving phone calls as the quality of the microphone leaves a LOT to be desired. It sounds muffled to the receiver and you should prepare yourself to shout a lot (not the best idea in a gym it seems...)
Finally, the reason why I will be using these only when using my home gym is the fact that when wearing these you should be prepared to be pointed out and ridiculed for the remarkable resemblence to Princess Leia and the infamous "Buns on the head". Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Not bad for the price Wednesday, March 05, 2008 A Customer from Goodyear, Arizona
These are not the best headphones you will find out there but for the money they are a good value. Not much trouble to setup and sync. They can get a little uncomfortable after several hours of use. For use as a phone headset, it works great. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good Value! Good Preformance! Unconfortable after Wednesday, March 05, 2008 A Customer from Dripping Springs, TX
I have not liked any of the in-ear, behind head under-ear, and now behind head over-ear mounting systems. The over ear design puts the weight of the unit on the plastic blade/tabs that end up cutting into the top of my ear and become very uncomfortable after a few hours of wear. I have to say that the performance is good in quite areas and bad in noisy environments. The mic picks up wind noise and is not good when on a bike or running or on a windy day. my 18 year old thought i spent a lot more for this than I did... these things used to cost over $100. it is very cool he uses it with his samsung blast phone and walks around his room and around the basement and doesn't loose connection. when the phone rings he just says hello! I love it for the car too so that he doesnt' try to text while driving... Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Good Price but Horrible Sound Quality Tuesday, March 04, 2008 Cary from Orange Park, Florida
Used with MacBook Pro with built-in Bluetooth and the setup was easy and very fast. Unfortunately, the sound quality is so bad that I don't want to use it any more. There is a clicking sound that you can hear all the time and the music volume is not constant. In other words, depending on how you rotate your head, the volume seems to go up or down -- probably related to signal strength.
When the computer is not connected and the headset is on, you can hear the static and clicking so that shows it's not coming from the computer. I tried it in several locations, from home and work, and get the same results so it is unlikely to be interference from other nearby items. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Dead on Arrival Monday, March 03, 2008 A Customer from Woodbridge, CT
Unit would not take a charge - left it on for several days but as soon as you unplug the unit it went dead and would not start.
Also beware of buy.com's return policy - you only have 14 days from when it was shipped to return it. It took 7 days for me to receive it. That only gave me a short 7 days to figure out that the unit was defective and it wasn't anything I was doing.
Poor quality control, not recommended. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Sounded and worked very well, lasted 2 weeks Friday, February 29, 2008 Randall Handley from Des Moines, Iowa
I had the exact same experience as John Chastain. The frame broke on both sides after 2 week's use without any abuse. I wear the headphones at home and only while I am on my treadmill. It is a shame that the frame makes this headphone totally unacceptable. The unit otherwise performed very well. I reommend that others pay a little more for a reputable product. The manufacturer is obviously aware of the deficiencies in this product and is not standing behind it. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 1 of 5 Sounded great, lasted five days Thursday, February 28, 2008 John Chastain from Washington, DC
As other reviewers have said, the frame snaps just above the speakers because the plastic is incredibly thin. Mine broke while I was wearing them 5 days after I bought them. The Verizon store refused to exchange them "because they're broken" [like I'd return them if they weren't broken!]. After I returned them to LG on the company's advice, LG returned them to me with a printout that said "customer abuse." If using them for 5 days is "customer abuse," I'd suggest buying a different brand of headphones! Too bad, because these gave great sound... for 5 days. Was this review helpful?

2 of 5 Headset Works OK Monday, February 25, 2008 A Customer from Tallahassee, Florida
I purchased this headset for a Centro Phone and found quickly that the phone would send only phone calls to the headset. The quality of phone calls is poor: you can hear the other party nicely, but they find it hard to hear you. Afer some work I was able to get the headset to work with ptunes only after getting other software for the Centro to send the sound to the headset. This results in a random reboot of the phone causing me to have to re-pair the phone to the headset. When the headset works it sounds great! Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Great for Listening Saturday, February 23, 2008 WJB from Uvalde, TX
I was attracted to these headphones by the price. They connected to my BlackJack II easily and the sound for music was quite nice. The voice quality when using the unit as a headset is marginal. The voice quality is reduced when driving as the road noise in my Dodge Ram 1500 makes the headset ineffective. Overall, the headset is easy to use and if your main objective is listening to music or books, they work just fine. That was my primary purpose for buying the headset so they meet my needs just fine. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great sound, design almost as good. Saturday, February 23, 2008 J.P. from Austin, TX
I bought this item and the sound quality is astonishing, being that it functions as a wireless headset. As with other reviews, I did notice some discomfort while wearing the headset within 10-20 minutes, and I didn't like the bulky look it gave my ears when clasped around my earlobes. It was like having a slight case of Dumbo ears. However, I decided to unhook the headset from around my ears and to just set them over my ears, and this worked fine. There haven't been any issues with the headset falling off due to lack of proper attachment. Overall, I'm satisfied with the product, although I've had some minor issues switching from the bluetooth stereo compatibility feature and the headset feature during incoming calls. Perhaps looking a little further into the manual would alleviate this small problem. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Love it! Only comfort is a concern. Saturday, February 23, 2008 Chris from Wheeling, IL
Great headset, easy to pair up with a USB Bluetooth Dongle on Vista. I use these for WoW and the sound quality is pretty good. I love not having any wires for some late night gaming. The only complaint I have is the comfort of these things. After wearing these headphones for about an hour to two hours, your ears start to hurt. Maybe it's the size of my head or something, but looking to wear these longer than that time period might be of some concern. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good for the Money Saturday, February 23, 2008 kevin from edison, nj
Not bad for the $39.99 I paid. Sound quality may be questionable, but I've only used them for mp3s and have not listened to full quality files yet. They can get a bit uncomfortable, if not painful, after wearing them for a couple of hours. Battery seems to be pretty good with approx. 8+ hours of stereo listening. Haven't used them for phone calls yet. Overall, for the price vs. quality very good. I'm just getting into this wireless stuff and have not used other headphones. I likely would not have bluetooth headphones at all, if these were not available at 39.99. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works great with Palm TX Saturday, February 23, 2008 A Customer from Flint, MI

5 of 5 Great sound, good price Saturday, February 23, 2008 Bob B from Wellington, Florida
This stereo headset produces excellent sound. It also folds up to a fairly small size so it is easy to take with you. The connection to my bluetooth phone was simple and quick and it worked flawlessly. Also, it reconnects automatically by just turning it on. It also works very well with my computer and the fidelity is excellent. The controls are simple to use and work well. When used as a 2 way headset for phone calls, it works very well with no problems. The main drawback is the comfort. The plastic pieces on the part that goes over your ears is not the most comfortable and it does tend to pinch a little after 30 minutes or so of use. Once in a while it will "skip" for a brief moment. Great buy, good price. I would purchase it again. Was this review helpful?

Stay away. On November 22 I got one. Between then and now (February 21) I have had to exchange it 6 times. It has a seam by the speaker that breaks easily thorugh normal use. I've even treated it with extra care and it still breaks. Every one I've had has broken in the exact same place. The only difference is what side (left or right) that it breaks on.
Don't waist your money. Eventually the company will stop exchanging it. After a couple of months you will have spent your money and have nothing for it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great for the price. Thursday, February 21, 2008 A Customer from Salt Lake City, UT
Make sure you go to LG's website and make sure your phone is one that is listed for compatibility. Several people who have written reviews seem to have compatibility issues. The sound quality is great considering it's bluetooth. Unfortunately after wearing about 30 minutes they do begin to hurt the top of your ears and you start pushing them up so they aren't weighing down on your ears.
The headset feature has worked great for me. People are unable to tell I'm on a headset as long as there is not too much background noise Was this review helpful?

I just got this thing. What a mistake.
Although it will work with the phone part, the music does not come through at all. I get, maybe, split second of music at a time.
Since the reason for buying this thing is to listen with both ears, namely music, and it doesn't do that, it needs to be recalled and re-engineered.
Never even got to the stage of trying it out in public.
Time to look for a different unit. :(

4 of 5 For the $, Best So Far Saturday, January 05, 2008 Jay T. from Los Angeles, CA.
I just purchased a set of LG's, while @ work I broke the plastic arm that houses the wire, they still work, I took them back to the Verizon store and the MGR Adrian Swithed them out for me. I really appreciate good Business and Good Product. I think that the Mic quality while using phone is a little shabby but overall these headphones sound great while listening to music. Design can be Better for more comfort, but for $54.00 dollars I can't complain. I use my Samsung Juke with it and I enjoy continuous music for hours before needing recharging. Product fulfills needs well. Relatively comfortable. Provides very good sound quality as a phone, both receiving and sending sound. Only real problem is that when walking and listening to music, the sound breaks up. Do not know whether it is a micro SD card problem (intermittent contact) in the phone or a bluetooth system connection problem.
However, this is a fine product. Was this review helpful?

For the money, I don't know if you can find a better stereo Bluetooth headset. I looked.. and looked some more. They sound good considering you're transferring audio wirelessly (previous 900mhz headphones of mine sounded very "tinny.") A plus in my book is that they fold up and easily fit into my coat pocket. My only gripe is that each speaker has a large enclosure around it. It's rather bulky looking. Consequently, because it's the behind-the-ear variety, my ears get a little sore from having the headset sit upon them. With some creative placement, I've alleviated most of it. It is still noticeable, though, and comfort is definitely something to consider before purchasing a headset. Was this review helpful?
