LG Electronics LFD25860ST 25 Cu.Ft. French Door Refrigerator w/ External Water Dispenser, Stainless Steel

Most of the previous bad reviews deal with customer issues and not the unit itself - We purchased this model - brand new from a local retailer for under $1000 - unit leveled very well, but my floor is fairly level. My water dripped a little as well the first day - my installer said this was normal until the seals seat under pressure - not available before it is hooked up - mine did stop after about 12 hours. I paid $35 for delivery including complete set-up My installers moved the unit with a refrigerator dolly, not by the handles - they were never designed to lift or move the unit - just open the doors - so my look and work fine. Unit is much more spacious and usable than the traditional side by side. Mine also cools excellently and the temps on the door provide great control of the unit - it your cleaning people change them - teach them how to reset them - this is a customer problem - not a problem with the unit. The door beeps when left open - I like this feature as sometime I miss shutting the door entirely because my hands are full and it reminds me - if you hate it - TURN IT OFF - it has a control. Tip front freezer drawer is great - I am a big man and I had trouble with the traditional straight pull drawer - not enough access room, the tip front provides far greater access but is not required to be used if you don't need it. My previous unit had ice in the door - the similar model that has this feature costs $1000 more and loses a lot of door space in the refrigerator - I like it better in the freezer and it also can be turned on/off through the door controls - also interesting that the freezer baskets are larger in this unit with the freezer below instead of smaller when the ice maker is in the door - this unit has the largest freezer capacity of all french door models. Filters are a little expensive but I have found them for $40 on-line, not $60 as previously stated. Also remember that is a 300 gallon filter – the 6 months is a guide line, not a firm date. If you use it less, it may last longer. If you use it a lot, you may need to replace it sooner. Personally I am really pleased with the fact that I have the water filtered and that the filter itself is so readily accessible and easy to change – much superior to a rear mounted filter or none at all.

I love the fridge. But the ice cubes kept falling into the bottom drawer when you pull out the drawer. I called LG customer service and they recognize this as a problem and they have redesigned the ice make arm. CALL LG and request a new ice maker cube arm. It should have come with the fridge but it was manufactured before they changed it. Otherwise, I LOVE THE FRIDGE! Best purchase I've made from buy.com.

I bought it, with a great deal of hesitation. But when I got it installed, it looks beautiful. The description doesn't do it justice. It has a lot more bells and whistles than the description. GET A STAINLESS STELL POLISH! I got a cleaner from the local applicance center. Bad. THen I found a stainless polish from Elco. This is the one. It makes it shine! This is a very good fridge. Don't know about the reported problems with the ice maker dropping cubes on the floor, but everything runs and operates better than advertised, except have a little drip from the water dispenser that I think has taken care of iteslf. BTW - item was delivered by semi. Needed help to unload as they forgot the ramps and dolly. They will not set up, just deliver the huge box. But at 390 lbs, not big as the fridge.

Except a cracked egg shelf cover and a broken crisp drawer hing, everything is fine. LG is shipping the plastic parts. The refrigerator is high performance and good value. The french doors concept is nice. Be aware that my free delivery is just drop shippment, not into the kitchen.

Very spacious, great looking, well organized, great price. I actually like the ice maker in the freezer, don't care about having the ice dispenser, although the water dispenser is very useful. That frees up some space on the left door, much needed for bottles. LG is replacing this model with an updated one, with the ice dispenser, practically identical. I apprecited the prompt delivery via Seko, although not white glove (hey, it's free!) hence they won't install it for you, they were really helpful.

I looked at so many reviews, worried that I would get scammed ordering my LG refigerator on line, as that is a lot of money to pay to cyber space. It could not have been easier and the cost was better than I found locally. Free shipping was definitely the deal breaker for me! I love my appliance, and love buy.com as well! No worries here!
