    I wanted a DVD player that had a video input and a swivel monitor so I could use it as a field monitor and a DVD player. I got both in this product for under $100. The picture looks great, the options and extras are adequate....I've got no complaints.

    My daughter has gone thru a number of portable DVD players in the last 3 years mainly (Polaroidx2, Audiovox3). Bad luck with them and needed to return most of them. A model close to this one was rated highly on Consumer Reports so I went with this one. Of the others, I liked the larger 8 in screen on one. This player has a good battery life and doesn't just shut down when the battery is low. It would be nice if the battery charged while playing but that isn't a big deal. It also has an option to check battery status while playing which I liked. Seems like it was solidly constructed. That was the problem with many of the others. With a 4 year old daughter the prior players were dropped, spilt upon, charger cord tripped on etc...and often something would stop working (screen, charger etc...) Purchase Price : $ 87.50 Very pleased with it so far...

    The DVD player is compact and solidly built. The picture quality is excellent and the swivel screen is a nice feature. My only issue would be the sound, as I had to try several different types of headphones to find one where I could fully enjoy the audio. Otherwise the player is top notch.

    Purchased this for my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter for Christmas. Picture is great. Sound is great. Player was easy to use right out of the box. Love that it plays DVDs and also CDs, as she loves to listen to music. Advertisement did not show that the player had a white cover but actually like it better than all black. Controls are easily accessible and intuitive. Love that the screen swivels and lays flat to cover the controls so little fingers aren't tempted to accidentally change the settings.

    I have purchased several LG portable DVD players both 7in and 8in. They have all been enjoyed by the recipients. Picture quality in very good, sound is great and battery life is quite long.

    The screen and solid construction of this DVD player is outstanding. Even the layout and functioning of the remote control identifies it as an excellent example of electronics craftsmanship. The only let down is in the utilization of the USB port. With just a few tweaks of electronic circuitry, LG could have allowed the USB port to play video files and not just the jpeg and other photo files. The advertisement and product summary is unclear by calling it a "USB Media Host". When you try to play a video file that you've downloaded to your USB drive on the LG DVD Player, you get a message that says "File Not Supported". If you've been hoping for USB video - at that point you either decide to keep it (as I did due to the excellent overall value) or you call Buy.com and say "It's not what I thought it was....; I'm sending it back!".

    Bought as a gift so I had to try it briefly to make sure it worked before wrapping it up. Easy to use. Nice touch with the swivel screen that basically lets you turn it into a movie viewing tablet. Only reason I gave it a 4 on performance was the quality of the picture. Although that could be due to the dvd I was using.
