I bought this online from Buy.com, but only after looking at a LOT of TVs in stores. For me, the selling point of this LG was that the screen is very bright and still has good contrast, making for a very nice picture -- I didn't see anything better for anywhere near this price. The PC and USB inputs are useful features -- plugging in my laptop is a hoot, as is viewing photos directly from a camera -- and some of the cheaper 52" sets don't have those. I don't have external speakers yet, but the built-in speakers sound pretty decent so I'm not in a hurry to do that just now. I'm using this with DirecTV HD and the picture is beautiful, so I'm very satisfied. I took the free shipping option, and it was shipped the day after I ordered. (Be aware, however, that they only carry it into your house; they don't set it up. I'm using the built-in stand so that was easy -- just plug it in and connect the cable -- but if you want a wall mount, you may want to pay for installation.)

I purchased this TV a few weeks ago and can't be happier. It not only meet my expectations, it surpassed them. I shopped around at the retail stores and online. I couldn't find a better deal. Shipping was great and the TV arrived before the expected arrival date. My friends love it and two of them have already purchased the same TV. This TV is great! The picture quality is fantastic. We hung ours on the wall. Automatically switches screen mode depending on the program and what its made for (normal, wide-screen, etc). My family and friends love it.

Wanted to comment on this TV to anyone who is interested in purchasing this kind of TV. I have never owned a TV larger than a 32" TV, and now own a 52" TV. I love this TV. Why? Because my wife and I have a rather large living room, and it fits perfectly in our living room. In addition, with the HD, it is so awesome to watch football. I commented to my wife yesterday, while watching a Bowl game, that I could read the tatoo of one of the linemen during the game. Talk about clarity. We are in the process of purchasing a surround sound system, and look forward to a theatre like entertainment, with the surround sound in place. Who needs to go to the movies now? Not us, we have it at home.

in my opinion it's the best lcd hdtv out there!!! it's so worth the money!!! only bad thing about the whole experience is the buy.com's customer service! i order the tv & i got a email saying i'll receive the tv in 7 to 9 business days! i waited for more then 12 business days without any notice from buy.com! i've send 3 emails to find out what's going on because there's no 800 # to call! so i had to call the buy.com credit card to get the 800#! when i called, the service advisor's answer is it's free shiping so what do you expect! i ask for the supervisor and the lady who claim that she's the supervisor saying the same thing! i'm not a person to complain but, all i wanted was their appology and maybe help me to get the delivery company to expedite my order so i can have my tv sooner!! that's about it! once again i love this lcd tv!!! ^^

Better LCDs are available out there now, but be prepared to pay twice as much for not much better performance. Great picture with Blu-Ray player. Overall great value.
