5 of 5 Practical Friday, December 28, 2007 Demo from Hyde Park, UT
It's just amazing how many companies dedicate so much time to making their flash drives, but nobody realizes how annoying it is to have to carry around a cap separately of your drive. It's not that hard just to get rid of it. Sandisk was on the right track with the Cruzers, but I love this design more than any other I've seen, because I can simply connect it to my belt loop with a clip (not included) and detach it whenever I want, then simply put it back, and it remains solid.
Only draw-back is that the transfer rate isn't amazing. It's not bad by any means, but the Cruzers I've seen run a bit better.
I mostly bought this on principle, just because of the design. Price is kinda high for only a moderate transfer rate and 2G, but the design is more than enough to make up for it with me. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Appears to be great design Friday, December 07, 2007 A Customer from Dunellen, NJ
After having two versions of a different brand USB drive fail mechanically in two different spots (once losing the key ring) (and once coming loose in the housing). I decided to look at alternatives, this looks to be a well designed compact drive at an affordable price.
Have barely used it yet -- but it appears to meet what I was hoping to get. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Worth the $$$ Friday, December 07, 2007 Jo from Los Angeles, CA
This 2GB flash drive is a little bit pricier than others I've seen, but it's worth it. My boyfriend accidentally dropped my laptop with the flash drive plugged into the side USB port. It hit the ground, the drive bent in half. And still worked!!! I ordered another one anyway, just in case. Oh, and the end cap snaps on more securely than any other I have, so it'll never get lost. 5 of 5 Excellent overall product Wednesday, December 05, 2007 A Customer from Nashville, TN
Its small, light, easy to use, and looks nice.
I love that the cap goes on the key ring. It fits the drive securely, so you'd never lose the drive. And when using the drive, the whole keychain/lanyard does not have to hang off the computer. My car audio player takes USB drives. So I can use the drive when the key is on the ignition - smart. The black and blue colors also match very nicely with the audio player - couldn't be happier! The write speed is a little slow - writing 2 gigs could take several minutes (read speed is very fast). But thats not a complaint at this price. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Perfect Size, Excellent Storage Wednesday, December 05, 2007 A Customer from Detroit, MI
The protective sleeve (which locks in place because of dimples on the sides) is much better than the caps that fall off my other thumb drive. Fits on my key chain so I don't have to bother tracking it down ever. Perfect solution for portability of files! Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 A bit slow Tuesday, December 04, 2007 A Customer from providence ri
I am disappointed this drive is a bit too slow. I have another thumb drive that has a much higher write speed. (I'm using WinXP pro) Other than that, it was a very compact drive, good value. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Exceeded Expectations Tuesday, December 04, 2007 A Customer from San Diego, CA
It's smaller than I expected, which is a good thing. Small, lots of capacity, reasonably priced. What more can you ask for? Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 small size, large value Thursday, November 29, 2007 A Customer from Milwaukee, WI
This flash drive is ideal. Small enough to fit on a keychain, but enough space to hold the essentials. No problems with more than adequate loading speeds, I am inclined to purchase another one soon... Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Compact, and attractive. Wednesday, November 28, 2007 A Customer from Kingsville,TX
While everybody around me has the rather large Kingston drives, I've this small, sleek looking pen drive that everyones thinks is a cordless signal receiver.
This drive is one of the fastest I've seen. Just plug it in and within 3 secs you're able to open the files.
I got it for $15, and it sure was a nice deal. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Fast, compact, and 2GB!!! Wednesday, November 28, 2007 A Customer from Dallas, TX
This is the smallest jump drive I have ever owned yet, it has the greatest storage capability as well. The 2.0 USB is fast and I have no formating or transferability issues, unlike other flash/jump drives I have owned (I'm constantly transferring info from PC to Macs and vise versa). I would recommend this product to anyone needing a quick, portable and safe means of data storage. Was this review helpful?

2 of 5 Very slow. Tuesday, November 20, 2007 seattle_traveler from Redmond, WA
This is one of the slowest USB flash drives I've ever seen. It is much slower than some USB 1.1 devices even though it is supposed to be a USB 2.0 device. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Beware, this is a VERY slow USB Flash Drive Monday, November 19, 2007 A Customer from Seattle, WA
Slower than some of my USB 1.1 devices yet it is a USB 2.0 device. You will wait a long time to copy files on this drive, be very patient, or do it while you are sleeping! Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Good price, but this is an extremely slow flash dr Monday, November 19, 2007 A Customer from Seattle, WA
Beware the performance of this drive. There's a reason they are blowing them out so cheap - they are the slowest USB flash drive you've probably ever seen. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Slow data transfer Tuesday, October 09, 2007 A Customer from Vancouver, WA
I asked Lexar why the Firefly was so slow. They responded "This JumpDrive is manufactured under MLC technology. MLC stands for Multiple Level Cell technology. It is a technology that allows each memory cell in flash media to store two bits instead of one in each memory cell." This USB Flash Drive uses the lower cost MLC technology, and can write at 1MB per second and read at 6MB per second. So this JumpDrive is normally slow in data transfer.
Positives: it is incredibly small Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Very slow Monday, October 01, 2007 A Customer from Los Angeles, CA
Other USB drives I own seem to be 5 to 10 times faster than this one. It's almost as if it were a USB 1.0 device, not 2.0. I would buy the Kingston 2GB that's on sale here instead. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great USB drive Monday, October 01, 2007 Steve from New Jersey
The Lexar FireFly USB drive is one of the best on the market, this is an excellent choice for PC Technicians, the case allows you to remove the drive while the cover stays attached to your keys or ID lanyard. The size is small and the speed is excellent. On every XP system I have used them on has had no issues.
The 4GIG would be the ideal size for a Technician to carry a several with them, goodbye to the pouch of CD’s .

Item is very small, and easy to use. I can't believe how tiny this is. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 A super drive Tuesday, September 25, 2007 SciTeach from Rock Hill, SC
Does everything you'd expect. Lexar and Sandisk make the best, most universal flash drives (avoid PNY). They are also tough. The only reason for not having "5's" across the board is I don't like the separate caps; too easy to lose. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works just great. No problems at all with this fla Tuesday, September 25, 2007 Tony from NJ
I bought this for my wife's use. So far no issues. I'm glad I was able to purchase it when it was on sale on buy.com!!! Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 perfect mechanical design Tuesday, September 25, 2007 A Customer from Daytona Beach, FL
The cap is secured to my key ring (never lost) and the device (securely held) can be pulled out and plugged into the computer. No searching for the cap, no keys hanging off the USB port. THE PERFECT MECHANICAL DESIGN and isn't it about time? Oh, and the 2GB of memory works perfectly and quickly as well. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great buy! Tuesday, September 25, 2007 A Customer from woodstock, IL
small and compact, the lexar firefly 2GB usb 2.0 flashdrive is the way to go. Just plug it in and instantly load all your pictures, documents and songs. With 2 GB of storage, you'd be hard pressed to find a better deal for the price. with USB 2.0, you are insured faster transfer times. Take this flashdrive with you anywhere you go by putting it on your key ring. Was this review helpful?

1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 GREAT STORAGE FOR ANY MONEY Tuesday, June 12, 2007 BILL from ROCKY FACE, GA
JUST PURCHASED THE Lexar Media 2GB JumpDrive FireFly USB 2.0 Flash Drive. I WAS SURPRISED BY THE SMALL SIZE. IT'S 1/3 SMALLER THAN MOST. ITS A MUST FOR ME TO HAVE THE BLINKING BLUE LIGHT WHEN IT'S BEING USED. I HAD A DIFFERENT ONE AND NEVER KNEW IF IT WAS WORKING. THE ONLY DRAW BACK I SEE IS THE HOLE TO ATTACH IT TO A LANYARD IS ON THE CAP AND NOT THE UNIT. IF THE CAP COMES OFF YOU SAVE THE CAP BUT LOOSE THE DRIVE. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great Buy! Tuesday, June 05, 2007 simonkodousek from Nashotah, WI
This flash drive is small, compact, and easy to use. It is fast in terms of saving and opening files. It can also hold up to 290 minutes of video.
The only thing that I don't like is the size. It is too small to extract it easily from the USB port on the computer. It also gets stuck because of it's size.
Overall, I am satisfied with this purchase. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 economical but slow Monday, May 28, 2007 A Customer from St. Louis, MO
Form factor is this item's biggest plus - fits right on your keyring - and a good amount of storage for the price. But, be prepared for sloooow transfers. The same large file took several times as long to transfer on this device as on a larger size unit I have. Same result for a large number of smaller files. Was this review helpful?
5 of 8 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Enormously small... Friday, September 22, 2006 A Customer from California
I love how tiny this thing is! I have it on my keychain and now I don't have to remember to take my USB drive with me wherever I go. It's amazing that just a few years ago I paid the same price for a 256MB drive that was twice the size. If I ever lose it or if it breaks, I will probably buy another one. Was this review helpful?
