it is far too expensive when they want an expanse of lego products. I have one grandson who spends hours on these type lego toys but once bvuilt he wants a new one. Building is his pleasure not playing with the toy. Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 We can't order this from EU countries, sadly. Saturday, December 06, 2008 Jelle from the Netherlands
Comments hardly add anything to prize this product. If you understand what the specs are all about, you're 'old' enough to start training! When I was a kid, LEGO provided the tools to train my creativity. By embracing the Open Source concept for MindStorms, LEGO literally provides tools for the NeXT generation. I'll keep hunting for a set of my own, it's just a matter of time I guess. Respect from the Netherlands! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Pretty Sweet Saturday, December 06, 2008 Craig from St. Louis, MO
Endless Possibilities. I thought there would be more robot designs out of the box. They touted something like 22 designs but the software only gives instructions for about 5-6 Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 The students love it! Saturday, December 06, 2008 Dale from Rural NC
It took a couple of students two days after school to put together their first robot. They started with a simple robot and have now taken it apart so they can build the humanoid robot. The only suggestion I have is that it would have been nice for LEGO to provide a case to hold all the little parts. I went to the hardware store and purchased a plastic parts holder. Something to sort and hold the parts is absolutely necessary. Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Great fun, no limit to new lego robot projects. Saturday, December 06, 2008 Tim from Small town in Illinois
This kit is great for those interested with toy/computer interfacing. The robots are fun to put together with easy instructions to follow. The computer program is easy to write and install. Great fun for all but this is not a toy for younger kids. Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 My 10 year old loves it Saturday, December 06, 2008 John from southern miss
The headline says it all. He's spent hours with it, and hours dreaming about what to do with it. Our only complaints are that the connections don't always work well. He had to spend some time with his engineer grandfather making the computer and the NXT block talk to each other. Was this review helpful?

I have been a fan since Lego Mindstorms 2.0. This toy is an excellent way to teach cognitive development, building skills, computer programming, basic engineering, and problem solving. As a programmer for nearly 20 years I can say that this tool is perhaps the best method to teach programmers how to be better at what they do. Since the physical nature of this toy allows the programmer to get instant feedback on their "solution" it easily demonstrates design and programming flaws. This instant feedback is an excellent tool for improving professional programming skills. My son, who started programming Mindstorms at age 5, has progressed very well as a robotics engineer and has already improved his math and science grades. Very few toys could have such a broad and intense benefit. Was this review helpful?
