My girls are 5 and 7 yrs. old and homeschooled. This would be a great product for not only learning, but also for added fun! Planning on it as a Christmas present for them. Was this review helpful?

Only one complaint, the product did not come with any demo games. Other than that, it's great! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 6yr old grandchild sleeps with it Friday, December 05, 2008 Tom from Plano, Texas

4 of 5 every kid should own one Friday, December 05, 2008 patricia from new york
This is one of the most outstanding toys ever invented!! Its not only a toy it is a learning device. My son takes his leapster everywhere we go. He loves it that much. He is at the head of his class. Leapster might have something to do with that. Keep the games coming. I will be buying one for both my nieces this christmas. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 What an ingenious gadget! Friday, December 05, 2008 Cindy from Houston, Texas
My youngest son is in love with this game system. There are numerous games available. They are age appropriate and enjoyable. My 7 year old is especially fond of the Sponge Bob game. One other really neat thing about this system is that the games are not expensive. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great toy but better value at Sams Friday, December 05, 2008 Dixie from Oklahoma
This is a great toy which I've purchased for my grandson for Christmas. However, I'm dissappointed that I spent this much only to find a better value package at Sams Club. There you get the game system plus 3 games for the same price offered here. Was this review helpful?

2 of 5 Better games available on websites Friday, December 05, 2008 kerri from toronto
Was given the Thomas pre-school game cartridge, and there are better games on the actual website than this product provides. Waste of money in my opinion. I returned the whole system to the store. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 better than nintendo! Friday, December 05, 2008 Single Dad from northern california east bay
purchased two of these for my 5 and 6 year olds. i thought they would get bored after a couple hours, (since they are avid nintendo players thanks to their two older brothers!) but they still are hot at it one month later!! (just wish the price was a lower though, especially for the game cartridges) Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 THE BEST THING OUT Friday, December 05, 2008 JILL from NEW YORK CITY
We started off with the original leapster, and that went over great, now that we have the new leapster l-max, it is the best thing a child can have, my son does not put this down .....I would recommend this to anyone with children. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Fantastic! But could use more games Friday, December 05, 2008 Diana from Palmdale, CA
My children love their Leapsters! They are not only fun but educational. A much needed change from traditional handheld video games. Especially great for the 4-6 year-old who wants a handheld video game like big brother or big sisters, but still finds some video games too frustrating. The Leapster teaches necessary learning skills and instills confidence. I would, however, like to see more game titles on the market. They only offer a few titles for each age catagory. 4 of 5 Worth every penny! Friday, December 05, 2008 Christine from Atlanta, GA
My son is almost 4, and received this as a Christmas gift. What a great toy! He is constantly picking it up and playing with it. It's a fun, educational toy that allows you to participate in your childs learning, but also allows him to learn things independently. We love that it keeps him busy during long car trips, too. Highly Recommended to anyone! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Could not pry this away from her Friday, December 05, 2008 Jane from small town in CT

My daughter received this Leapster for Christmas. She loves it so much. I bought her a couple of games, she enjoys this so much. I like it that you do not have to hook it up to the TV if you dont want. Highly recommend for any kid. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 My 4-year-old loves it! Friday, December 05, 2008 Steve from Shelby Township, Michigan
This toy is actually a good learning tool. It has helped my 4-year-old recognize letters and how they sound. Since getting this toy, she is starting to sound out words and starting to read them by herself. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 My 6 year-old grandson really likes it. Friday, December 05, 2008 Rose from Kansas City, Mo.
It is very educational. I especially like the Madagascar game because it was so multi-functional; teaching grammar, math and spelling. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Wonderful! Friday, December 05, 2008 R.B. from Georgia
This is a wonderful learning game. Very portable. I am much more pleased with it than I would be with letting my 5 year old son play with a gameboy. It's learning and it's fun. I even like to play the games. The only thing that I would suggest is that if you buy it, go ahead and invest in the charger that goes with it, because within a couple months you will have spent much more on batteries. Also, I wish that the company would come out with more games for it, particularly a writing one with d'nealian handwriting. You know the manuscript with all the curly ques and not the ball and stick writing. Also more drawing games would be good. I would highly recommend this game for any child between the ages of 3 or 4 and about 10. It kept my son occupied on a 1 1/2 hour trip and back. He loves it! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Santa brought this for my 4 year old, she loves it Friday, December 05, 2008 Reenie from Webster, NY

4 of 5 My 6 year old granddaughter loves it!!!! Friday, December 05, 2008 Sandy from Toledo, Ohio
This is an excellent item for any child ages 4-10. I purchased it for my granddaughters' sixth birthday on the 14th of this month and she has played with it every day since. It is the first toy she plays with when she arrives home from school. It is educational, fun and good for hand-eye co-ordination. Thank you for making such a great product! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 My 4 year old loved it Friday, December 05, 2008 tina from ceres, CA
I was debating on purchasing this toy or the v-smile toy. I'm glad I purchased this one. my 4 yr old loves it. He thinks its a video game and he's learning at the same time. The games are easy to play and he doesn't need that much help with the cartridges. His daddy loved playing with the toy too. It was an excellent christmas present that he's still playing with and loves! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 My five year old cannot put this thing down. Friday, December 05, 2008 David from New York
I brought the Leapster for my daughter as a Christmas gift and I'm forever buying batteries, she loves it. Whatever you do when you purchase this item buy rechargables, because I'm sure you'll have the same issue. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 My almost 4 year old is sold on it Friday, December 05, 2008 Trish from Virginia
He's not quite 4 yet but that dosen't stop him from enjoying this system. I think even if he dosn't totaly "get it" he is still getting something from it, as kids do learn lots from repetition. Plus the television connection is great. It dosn't just reproduce the game on a bigger screen it enhances it and adds to it. Can't say enough. His favorite characters charge his interest and he loves every minute of it, and it's all educational. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 My 5 year old loved it. Friday, December 05, 2008 Ana from Puerto Rico

My nephew was ecstatic and wouldn't put it down all the way home to Michigan! Better than any video game, it has really kept both him and his 2 1/2 year old brother occupied and not fighting. Would highly recommend it. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 My 5 year old loved it!! Friday, December 05, 2008 Sylvia from Boston
I just wish there were more games for it. he loves it what he has but he loves a variety of games. But its a great system and hes learning a lot! he loves letters on the loose because he can practice tracing the upper case and lower case letters. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Excellent toy/ game Friday, December 05, 2008 Emmanuel from Pasadena, CA
the game was excellent since my nephew was able to play with it on his own and then show us what he did in the big screen. The only problem is that the games for it are limited and he was only able to use two of them. I think they need to come up with new titles fast because my nephew was able to get used to one game in less than a week. Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 "Yup!, My 6 year old loves it too!" Friday, December 05, 2008 Steelersbabe from Maryland
After getting it, my 6 year old could not put it down. Her 4 year old friend/neighbor runs to it everytime she comes over. She doesn't quite understand what to do, but the sights and sound captivate and fascinate her. I enjoy the fact that my child is learning while she thinks she is just "playing games"! I, as a responsible parent, had to try it and found though the "learning" aspect was easy, I was enthralled by the "games"! Great way to mix learning with the obsession of video games!! 4 of 5 Keeps Going and Going and Going Friday, December 05, 2008 S from California
My son is 3 and loves his leapster. Even though his hand eye coordination was not very good at the beginning, he was able to quickly catch on. I don't really spend much time teaching him how to play because the games prompt you on what to do. If your child understands basic instructions and his/her left/right coordinates, it is really a good product for the kids to self learn. It keeps them really busy and out of your hair, even for 30 mins. Great product, but I wish it had more games for each level. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Love it Friday, December 05, 2008 Jena from NC
My 4 year old won't put the L-max down. Only advice is: invest in a set of rechargable batteries. Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Can't put it down Friday, December 05, 2008 Lisa from Fort Hood, TX
My son LOVES his Leapster. It is one of the things that he would play all day if I didn't make him put it down to eat and to do other activities. And he has learned alot with the Letter Factory game that we purchased for it. He had a speech delay and this has been helping him with his letter recognition and the sounds that they make. I would recommend it to anyone. A+ But I would recommend getting the recharger and the plug to plug it in...because it will eat up your batteries like no tomorrow. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 My 4 year old loves it Friday, December 05, 2008 Renae from Provo, UT
Very user-friendly and I like the graphics. He figured it out right away on Christmas day, and played all day with it. I would have thought for the money it cost, it would have at least one more game already on it. I should have checked out how many games are actualy preloaded on the system. One of the "games" is really just a preview of all the other games you can buy. The only actual games are a counting game and a paint game. Overall, a good system and he really likes it.
