5 of 5 Must Have for working with Notebook Drives Tuesday, June 09, 2009
Allen Webb from Loveland, CO

Great little adapter. Lets you connect a regular 40-pin IDE cable and power from a PC to a 44-pin IDE/power connector on a notebook hard drive. The 44-pin connector for the notebook drive is keyed to ensure proper orientation. Fast shipping.

4 of 5 safe to buy Sunday, February 15, 2009

This works just fine. The connections are snug though so be careful when disconnecting a drive; I snapped one of the short sides of the IDE female side on the adapter. It works fine, it's just missing a little bit of plastic now. The pins on the hard drive also got a tiny bit bent since it released at an angle. Be patient and pull it straight off using just a little bit of wiggle. I use this to do backup and service on several different hard drives and I need to connect and disconnect it frequently. If you just need to install it once I'd say it's perfect. It has two mounting holes which I guess I should use to put it in some kind of enclosure for my purposes.

5 of 5 Perfect! Wednesday, January 21, 2009

Cannot beat the value for the price. I used this to connect a client's laptop hard drive to my desktop machine and made it bootable. Great product.

5 of 5 Works As Expected Thursday, November 06, 2008
Mike from Ohio
Got this adapter to copy the contents of the 2.5" hard drive from a laptop that died. Dell laptop hard drives have an adapter over the pins that needs removed, so there was some confusion at first. I wanted to add the 2.5" drive as a slave to a desktop system, but there was no way to have the slave jumper in place and hook up the adapter. The jumper stuck out too far. I had to leave the drive jumperless, hook it up as the primary drive and copy the data off it via a network connection using a Linux live CD. The adapter is a bit flimsy. I can see it getting broken if the user is not careful.

5 of 5 A Great Addition to my IT toolbox. Monday, September 29, 2008
Aldrich Consulting from Southern New Jersey
This little inexpensive adapter is worth it weight in GOLD! A client's notebook was unable to boot windows or load any bootable CD-based OS. I used this adapter to connect the notebook's drive to a spare desktop and copied all of their documents and critial data. Just as another reviewer mentioned, the packaging could have been better (plastic envelope within another envelope), but I received it in one piece.

5 of 5 excellent adaptor Saturday, September 06, 2008
frankie from brooklyn, ny
excellent and very cheap. costs only 89 cents plus two and a half bucks for shipping. not a bad deal. functions very well as expected. no need to buy other brands that may cost five or six bucks. however, the packaging is a bit poor [just packed in a plastic bag, no padded envelope; however, no damage to the adaptor]. not really a con for the product itself. love it.
