I received this disk as a birthday present earlier this year. About a week after I began using it, I started getting delayed write failed messages all the time followed by disk crashes. I contacted tech support. They gave me some diagnostic troubleshooting routines which worked at forestalling crashes for a few days and then sent me a return mailing label. After the deadline on the RMA had passed, I asked for a new one, and was pleasantly surprised that LaCie had extended every one by 2 weeks because people were busy with summer. after about 1.5 weeks of waiting, I got my replacement drive today. It works flawlessly. LaCie has impeccable customer service. I recommend their products highly.
