Nice pocket size drive, comes pre-formatted. Windows showed the hard drive size to be around 480 GB (500*10^12 / 1024). The included software and other perks are definitely not the best. Good investment though.

It works as advertised. Almost as easy as a flash drive. The computer just recognizes it when you plug it in to a USB port. If not just plug in the second USB cord (included) for more power and off you go. My only issue is that on one of my computers I had to use one of the USB ports on the back when the front ones did not see the drive. It was an easy work-around.

Very nice small drive that was pleasantly affordable for a 500gb unit. Found it very easy to install, and just as easy to use. The only draw back I have with it is the USB cable is too short to be very user friendly, and I find that it almost feels like you have to pull it from the computer by the wire rather than the plug which isn't very good for the cable I suspect. Otherwise it is a very nice unit.

works fine so far. finger print magnet!!! havent used included soft yet. a little slow but not that bad. overall nice product for that price.

Third 500 gig LaCie I've bought. Use for back-ups. All perform flawlessly. Good combination of light weight and performance for the money.

I have several LaCie portable hard drives (designed by Porsche) and they stack very nicely on my desk. Great performance and easy setup with this Little Disk. I really missed the rubber feet. The case attracts a lot of fingerprints and the attached USB cable may be a little bit too short.

Yes it is plastic for lightness, they all are... I have four mini Hard drives, WD,Verb,Hammer and LaCie, LaCie moves everything the fastest, it is a little bit larger than the others but fits nicely within its pouch, you get an extra plug if you need two, and with the new charging plugs on surge protectors etc, you won't need to go with out.....Get one use it you won't be sorry. If you want it is easily re formatted.

This little drive was really a great bargain. It's easy to tote around and just as easy to be used as a backup unit. It worked on my Intel Mac without any issues using both USB connections. The drive came w/ backup software (PC & Mac) but I didn't need those. Again, I love the size & the portability.

I love the LaCie 500gb portable hard drive. It is very easy to use and comes in handy any where i take it. I recommend this product to anyone looking to store their music, photos, and/or videos because it has a tone of space to store all of those.

I bought this drive because I needed at least a 500GB drive to backup. This was the best price I found for a 500GB drive. I already own a 160GB drive from LaCie and I had no problems. When I received the drive it was actually smaller than I thought it would be from the pictures I saw. It's just a plain black plastic case but it does the job. It's a real nice drive for the money I use it with Super Duper on my Mac.

Paid 85$(it was a real bargain) as part of the buy.com Christmas deal and want say that I'm absolutely happy with this HD. Still didn't have a chance to use it a lot but it's seems like a solid and very stylish product. Would recommend to everybody!!!

Tiny disk, runs perfect on USB power with no additional cables needed. Handy little built-in storage space for the USB cable. However, be aware that the speed of this unit is not that great. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a small travel disk

This is an incredible deal for the price. My son wanted a hard drive for his laptop. He couldn't believe it when he opened this up. He asked for a hard drive about a year ago-all he got was a 60gb for almost the same money. This should hold him for awhile!!

It is always better to have more storage when you travel in these days of multimedia. This drive is very convenient with its built-in USB connector, and nice to look at with its sleek and stealthy design. More is more in todays world.

Good price for 500 GB 2.5 drive - bought 2! Use for backups. Reasonably fast transfer rate. Light weight makes it a pleasure to carry vs. 3.5 drives. So far has been dependable.

it either works or it doesn't. This one works, and holds files. when there was a rebate, and free shipping, it was a good value. Now that Buy.com has placed shipping tax on it, and there is no rebate, I would wait. there will be better $ per gigabyte deals down the road...the cap on the end is a little weird, just something else to lose....

I just got my HDD and i love it...the design is simple and elegant and its lightweight+small. It comes with USB extension cable and a power cable (if needed) and a small pouch to carry it around and good software. For $99, a 500GB USB portable HDD in such a small package is simply a bargain and i would surely recommend it.....

This LaCie 500GB little disk is very light and fast. Got it for about $85 with all those deals during the xmas deals. Few things that I didn't like - 1. Although it says 500GB, it actually gives you only 465GB(but again that's the case with all other drives) 2.The casing is non metal, does not look durable. 3.The idea of retractable cable which can not be "lost" sounded very good but it actually is very inconvenient and some times outright annoying. The internal SAMSUNG HDD is wonderful and for the money paid its well worth. One last warning for those who have not used "no AC power needed" drives, the catch is you have to plug two USB cables on some of the older computer to get the drive to work and I did not have two USB ports.

I love the drive with its built in USB cable that I cant lose. 500GB's in a mobile is great to be able to travel with. I wish I would have waited to get this deal, but still love it.
