5 of 5 Two years and still going strong... Tuesday, July 22, 2008 A Customer from Inola, OK
I paid almost 200 bucks for one of these two years ago. I considered it a bargain then. It hasn't been turned off since. I just ordered a second one to replace a tired old NT file server. I agree with the previous reviewer, the administration on this drive is awkward, but for a small network with a dozen users it takes less than a half hour to set up. I'm using it with every flavor of windows from 95SE to Vista and can even mount it over the wireless from my Linux laptop. My only real complaint is it can get slow when listing the contents of large directories. Was this review helpful?

I bought this drive for our small web design shop. We have a wi-fi network -- mostly macs and this drive is proving to work out great. Mounts like any other drive on my Mac after connecting to the device.
My main concern was transferring files over wi-fi, but for general day-to-day use it's pretty fast. I run daily backups to a different drive that leaves the building with me and I have found that I need to allow a good bit more time to do that.
Set up was very easy (although I would consider myself an advanced computer user). The browser-based interface is somewhat clumsy and non-intuitive, but I was able to set up different share directories and assign users without any real problem. Very happy.
We're running Intel Macs, OS 10.5, Lynksys router. Was this review helpful?
