Provides redundant storage for my pictures, movies and music. It is an expensive (per MB) but worry free solution. Transfers from an Intel-based iMac over firewire were much faster than to my old USB external laCie drive. Setup was simple: change the device setting to RAID 0, plug in, turn on, and format drive using included software.
Power saving feature is a plus and it never got hot, even after copying files for 12 hours. Start up from power saving mode is a little slow b/c it spins up one disk at a time, but I'd rather save the power.
