2 of 5 Video freeze up 12/2/2009
from wwauau wisconsin
Returned to retailer. Video freezes up after 10 or 15 seconds with or without an sd card. Mostly when recording hi def. After surfing the web, I am not the only who has experienced this problem. Just a cheap paper weight.
Cannot recommend it.

5 of 5 Great transition camera from "kiddie cam" 4/21/2009
from Ridgefield, CT
Bought two of these for two of our sons - the 11 year old is a button fanatic and loves anything electronic, the 14 year old was looking for a way to make videos for youtube. This camera has been perfect for both kids. It looks grown up yet is pretty durable with few "breakable" parts and buttons, so our younger son feels grown up, and we feel confident he can't destroy this thing too easily. Our older son has had tons of fun with this and figured it out in no time. The small size makes it easy to bring anywhere to capture all of those great moments. Very easy to use, with good quality pictures. Great investment!

5 of 5 Perfect for wham bam video 3/2/2009
from Appleton, WI
I own a small video production company. Final Cut Pro. Canon XH A1 Cameras. We do
TV commercials, Marketing Videos, etc. Sometimes when you pull out the tripods, lights, mics and cameras it takes to long to get the shot and the whole atmosphere of the moment might vanish in an instant. My little HD Kodak is perfect for those moments. For such a small camera, the picture quality is great. It does take a while
however to figure out how to convert the file from the Kodak version of a .mov to a file you can use in Final Cut Pro. It's not exactly a drag and drop situation. That said, I'm blown away by the how easy it is to use....and the price to get HD footage is unbelievable.

Customer from North Bergen, NJ
I bought this camera so my wife can record and upload videos of our son to youtube.com and it proved that this is the easiest camera to use while providing excellent quality video.
We're very happy with this purchase and very impressed of it's quality and ease of use.

5 of 5 Great little Flash based Camcorder 1/19/2009
from Danbury, CT
I used my brother's flip camcorder for a little while but decided on the Kodak when it was time for me to purchase my own camcorder and am really glad I did. This is a small, very easy to use camcorder, great for capturing all sorts of special moments. Starts up in a flash, hit the button and you are recording.
I wanted something that was easy to carry around (fits in my pocket) and that my wife was not afraid to use. It took less than a minute for me to show my wife how to use it and the next day she was already emailing me video clips of our baby.
Video quality is very good. Not sure what the problem the last reviewer was having, but unless I am pointing the cam at the sun or shooting in the dark, the videos I have shot look great to me. I have done mostly regular VGA, and only a few HD btw. Both look nice. I have not taken pictures with it and didn't buy it for that. I already have a great still camera, and besides, I assumed a camera like this that doesn't even have a flash would not take great pictures anyway so I have never even bothered. I REALLY like that I can snap my own SD chip into the camera for more memory or if I am running low on disk space. Also, a huge, HUGE plus is that in addition to the rechargeable batteries the camera comes with, you can put in regular AA batteries in a pinch. This has come in handy already more than once. (As with all cameras, the low battery indicator sneaks up on you and does not give you enough warning.) Both of those last two points are huge. Many times we have a school event one night, and a soccer game the next and just don't have time to empty the camera or properly charge batteries. ..and when you are on vacation, forget it. You may as well leave the Flip Camcorder at home.

4.3 of 5 Excellent at most things. Bad at some. 1/1/2009
Jason from Maryland
This thing is excellent at taking videos in well lit areas. In a well lit environment, the HD and SD videos are beautiful. The unit is also ultra convenient as you can pull the thing out of your bag and start shooting in 5 seconds. It has great sound and excellent integration and expansion capabilities.
On the downside, its below average at taking still pictures and is extremely poor in low lighted environments. I would not depend on this to replace a camera or to record high quality video in regular indoor lighting. It outputs directly to a TV, and I would consider this option somewhat poor, as its lacking a good interface.
On the whole, if you heed my words, you will be extremely satisfied.

3.3 of 5 Wanted to like this... 12/21/2008
from Missouri City, Tx
On the surface it is the perfect marriage of compact size, reasonable price, and HD goodness. But, what you'll find are jumpy, grainy videos that don't look great when shot in direct sunlight, and are near un-watchable when shot indoors under normal room light. I guess sometimes cheap is just cheap.
