I received my Z1085 only 4 days ago, but it has worked out great for me so far. The smart capture setting works incredibly well on this camera and is very versatile. I’m not really a “photo” type person so the more automated a camera is, the better it is for me. I took the Z1085 to the auto show here in New York for a test run and ALL the pictures came out looking great. It took pictures in bright light, low light and of backlit items like a champ. I didn’t have to do anything with the settings manually. . The optical image stabilization on the Z1085 seems to work well. Again, for a guy like me who doesn’t want to use a tripod for every shot he takes this is a good thing. None of my photos have come out blurry so far. For every other digital camera I’ve used in the past I was lucky to get 2 out of 10 shots that weren’t blurry in one manner or the other. While I haven’t turned off the IS or really played with the manual settings too much, it seems to have everything a true photo enthusiasts looks for as well. For those with talent it can be totally manual if he or she wants. High ISO settings (up to 8000 at 3MP), a large sensor and 720P HD video are all pluses with this unit. I have to say I’m impressed with the camera’s versatility at the price level. I’m also glad it was smaller than I had thought it was going to be. While not a shirt pocket camera, it does fit nicely into a jacket or coat pocket. For me, this was definitely a good buy.
