1 of 5 Got Cheated Thursday, June 26, 2008
A Customer from In

The photos are blurred in Image Stablization mode. When I search on internet it seems that ZD710 kodak camera does not have any Image Stablization function. I found photos to be blurred in many other mode. I think I am cheated.

5 of 5 Great piece of equipment Wednesday, June 25, 2008
L. Harp from Philadelphia, PA
Well I'm no expert, but this is the first camera I purchased for myself, and I'm so satisfied with it. The pictures are very clear and crisp, almost life like. I love the video feature and the fact that it's light and very easy to use. The only thing that could be improved is the lense cap, it comes off very easy. I'm still learning how to use all the features on it, but I'm loving my new camera!

5 of 5 The Kodak ZD710 is great for amateurs! Monday, June 23, 2008
TL from San Antonio TX
I bought this camera because of its great price and zoom features. It replaced a 7 year old Kodak with 3X zoom, which still works but is hardly using current technology. I didn’t realize how much technology had advanced until I started using this camera! The optical zoom offers great sharpness for faraway photos. The automatic scene selector does a great job for beginners, but there are plenty of features for more advance users (e.g. moving subjects, light behind subject, and night time to name a few). The video feature offers surprisingly high quality videos. The ZD710 has more mega pixels than I need since I don’t plan to blow up any of my pictures, but you can adjust the picture format (4:3, 3:2, 16:9) to save room on your memory card. As others have noted, the lens cap does not stay on well and it does take a long time to turn on and to process after pictures. Even an 8GB SD card did not speed up processing time. I have been using rechargable AA batteries rather than the lithium battery that was included and have not drained the batteries yet- even when taking a lot of videos. I would definitely recommend this camera for those needing a quality, non-professional camera.

5 of 5 Great Camera Saturday, June 21, 2008
A Customer from Southern, Oregon
I was hesitant at first to buy this because of some of the reviews. I went ahead and bought it anyway because my Sony Mavica CD was failing and I had my brother's graduation come up. The only problem I've had so far is it does write slow at times. I missed one good shot because of it "processing". Also, the lens cap is flimsy. It pops off easily, and the cap itself breaks easily. I also wish it had full image stabilization, and not just digital image stabilization. Otherwise, I'm thrilled with this camera.

5 of 5 Crystal clear pictures ... easy-to-use Wednesday, June 18, 2008
mbc from columbus, ohio
I was afraid to buy this camera after reading bad reviews, but now that I have the camera and have spent some time playing with it, I can highly recommend it. I bought this camera to replace my 4 year-old, 5 megapixel Kodak (which still works but has a touchy control dial after years of hard use). I have yet to open the user manual, because the controls are intuitive and easy-to-use. As long as you give the camera a second or two to focus, it takes amazingly clear pictures. The macro mode allows you to take clear pictures while only 2 - 3 inches from the subject. This isn't the fastest camera on the market; it does take a few seconds to come on, and it does take a second or two after taking a picture to be able to take another. However, if you want extreme speed, I highly recommend investing in an SLR. For the price, this camera is simply amazing, and it will adequately cover the needs of any non-professional ... even advanced users. I only have two concerns about this camera. First, the lens is exceptionally large, and I'm afraid it will be hard to keep free of debris or scratches for a long time. Secondly, I didn't realize that the viewfinder was electronic until after I had the camera in my hands and had the chance to look it over. I would have preferred an optical viewfinder.

5 of 5 Great camera Wednesday, June 18, 2008
A Customer from somwhere, oh
I bought this as a replacement for a Z650, mostly for the better resolution and the image stabilization feature. Pro: easy to use, but flexible settings for peculiar situations. SDHC compatible, high-power crisp zoom, no misleading 'digital zoom' Con: fairly slow image saves, lens cap easy to knock off.

3 of 5 Misses great photos... =o( Wednesday, June 18, 2008
Joe from Northeastern Pennsylvania
The shutter speed or amount of time it takes this camera to complete the picture taking process results in missed photographs. Many good shots are wasted due to the amount of time the camera takes to respond and store it. The actual picture quality is good, but too many shots aren't what they were expected to be. I'm really disappointed.

5 of 5 Kodak Makes Sharing Easy Wednesday, June 18, 2008
Doug from Lake City, MN
Bought this camera at a local store for my wife for Mothers Day because it looked intuitive enough for her to use right out of the box. It proved to be that and more. I liked it so much that I had to buy one for myself, only at Buy.com it was over $100 cheaper. After having used the camera for a week I can see only one weakness and that is the recycle speed or capture speed. I have experienced the issue of turning off the camera before the picture was saved and lost it. Really like the indoor/outdoor display it really comes in handy. There are a lot of features I haven't even explored yet, but as a point and shoot it is exceptional. I would recommend including a charger and battery when buying, the camera does not come with one, maybe that is why it is so reasonably priced.

5 of 5 The camera is great! Tuesday, June 17, 2008
Jim from Hutto, Tx
We liked it so much a friend asked us to order them one. The only thing I don’t like is the “processing” time after the first 2 quick shots, (we tried a “high speed” SD card, but made no difference) but compared to our Fugi fine-pix its still a fast camera. DO NOT USE A LEXAR SD cards, they are for some reason incompatible. When we used that card the camera would turn its self off when you tried to take a picture(three cards, and now two cameras) but the Kodak and Kingston work fine.

5 of 5 Great camera for the price! Saturday, June 07, 2008
kjs from Ringwood, NJ
Needed an upgrade for my 6 year old Fuji camera and at the price I thought that I couldn't go wrong. Correct! This camera is great and competes with a lot of far more expensive models. Excellent lens, large zoom range and the image stabilizer you have to have if you want to use the upper zoom levels. Works ok with the microSD card in an adapter (one type fits all my toys is important to me) I had but if you want to make rapid shots you'll need a high speed memory card. Very reasonable at low light levels. Directly supported under Linux = no problem that Kodak doesn't provide drivers. Plug it in and download. Only small negative point: the auto-flash mode should have a red-eye reduction setting too. You have to manually switch to it.

5 of 5 Everything I expected and more Friday, June 06, 2008
Cas from Hatboro, PA
I can honestly say that I am totally blown away by this camera, and Buy.com. My order shipped the same day I ordered it. It was very easy to start using, when I plugged it in to my VISTA laptop, it was recognized and installed without needing to install the supplied disc (I am trying to limit the excess applications on the laptop). All of the features seem fairly easy to use. I was concerned after reading the complaints about the lens cover, but it isn't as bad as they make it sound. All in all, a great camera for the price!

5 of 5 Great camera for the price Monday, June 02, 2008
Mark C. from Ravenna, Mi
I've been using mine for a couple of weeks now. No problems to report. The smart scene mode works great for most pictures. I am surprised how well lit pictures turn out in low light without flash. Had to read the manual before I figured out that pressing the shutter button halfway gives better focus. Figured everything else out without manual. Panorama mode is cool. The camera will automatically combine up to 3 pictures into one smooth flowing panoramic view. Tested out the video mode too. Works good. Mic picks up sounds even from behind, although playback is harder to hear on the camera. When viewed on computer sound is good. Videos are saved in .mov format. LCD display is visible outdoors in bright light. I've seen others that weren't. Picture format is also changeable between 4:3, 3:2, 16:9. Transfers to computer are simple. Windows XP recognized without installing driver. The only con for this camera is there's no charger included. I purchased a seperate kit that came with NiMH batteries. These apparently take a couple of discharges to hold a good charge. The first couple times I only got about 10 pics before they were dead. Since then I've gotten 80 to 90 per charge.

5 of 5 Good value and good performance Sunday, June 01, 2008
bob from NY
I haven't had much time to really play with the new camera but the dozen or so shots I did take have come out wonderful. There are plenty of features to be had with this camera. Sure it's not the smallest and easiest to carry camera but that's not why you would purchase the zd710. The macro mode is great, which is one of the reasons I wanted this camera. I own the z700 with 5x optical but 10x optical zoom is very nice and the lens is what makes it all possible. The pictures I've taken so far are crisp and detailed, no complaints. I haven't had the chance to mess with the panoramic feature but it's nice that it is available. Like others have mentioned the lens cap is joke, it DOES NOT stay in place if you are mobile but you get a camera bag and problem is solved. The 2" screen isn't the biggest out there but it's big enough and looks good. This camera is easy to navigate like most other Kodak cameras but it may take some time to get use to all the features. Construction feels very sturdy and it looks nice. I like the design of the z series compared to the c series of Kodak cameras. Shipping and ordering from buy.com has become a pleasurable experience and this camera overall was an excellent deal.

5 of 5 Excellent Value and Performance Camera Thursday, May 29, 2008
millerwm2002 from Pittsburgh, PA
Purchased for our daughter on HS graduation. She loves it, even though it is not as slim as most of her friends cameras. It takes much better photos and the zoom is excellent. The remanufactured camera was an excellent value and carried the normal Kodak warranty, the only reason I shy away from some reconditioned products.

5 of 5 Next To Last Stop Thursday, May 29, 2008
A Customer from Long Island, NY
PROS: Beautifully sharp pictures - extreme magnification of a portrait shot not only resolves every hair, but you can even see the skin pores (if you really want to). I've not had this since my half-sheet vue-camera days. This is a last stop for me before I (eventually) go to a full digital SLR w/interchangeable lenses, raw mode saves, etc. Uses AA batteries - which means you are never screwed because you forgot the charge for your NiMH's. DO GET Several sets of NiMH for this - it's a big camera with a big lens and consumes some power. Optical viewfinder mode is a digital optical viewfinder - very nice. Nice 3-image Panoramic option. Pretty fast saves and it can use SDHC as well as SD. Note: To get full manual and specs, you'll need to go to Kodak's site. A good reminder: ultimately, it's not the MegaPixels that count, it's the Lens! CONS: Lens Cap falls off very easily Macro Mode is a bit tricky to get used to. Must be in one of the manual modes to go to Macro or Scenic modes.

5 of 5 Great little camera Sunday, May 25, 2008
Kevin McMillan from Beckley, WV
This a great camera to take with you when you don't want to carry a heavy SLR around. This camera takes really good pictures. The zoom is good and the image satabilization is a must when you have shaky hands or using the zoom at the max. Can't beat the price either.

4 of 5 Fairly Satisfied with this camera Monday, May 19, 2008
Michelle from Aurora, CO
My previous camera was an Easy Share so it was easy to figure out how to use this camera. A couple things we weren't completely happy with... the lens cap comes off all the time, just setting in a bag and it pops off. There is a slight delay in the picture when you take it, not horrible but more than my last camera so it was a period of adjustment. And it seems like after every couple pictures it gives a "processing" screen so again a hesitation in taking photos and this inevitably happens when I need to click away at the baby. Picture quality is nice and zoom has been perfect for our use.

5 of 5 Great value Sunday, May 18, 2008
A Customer from New Hamshire
Fantastic camera for the price! It has more features than most of us will ever use, plus the 10x zoom is great. The LCD screen is a bit small, but is still high quality, and you have a TTL viewfinder anyway which is a real plus for those of us who can't get used to shoting with a screen. People complain about the lens cap being loose ... it's designed to fall off when you turn the camera on and forget to remove the cap, otherwise it would really do damage to the motor that drives the zoom. People also complain about the processing time ... you get 2 shots immediately in a row, then it goes into the processing mode, which really isn't terrible. So, it's not perfect, but it's still an incredible value when you compare it to the rest of what's out there!

5 of 5 Can't be beat for the money Sunday, May 18, 2008
Tony A from Milton, MA
Great little camera. You need high speed memory (Class 6)if you want to shoot quick succession shots. The lens cap doesn't stay on well but that's all I can think of that I don't love. Oh yeah, it would have been nice to get an AC adapter for the rechargable battery but it takes 2 AA batteries so I can charge my own. Buy this camera!!!

5 of 5 nifty device for the price that I paid Saturday, May 17, 2008
kelsci from Margate,Florida
This is the 2nd digital camera that I have purchased recently but the first in a dslr type. Actually the only cons are that the flash pops up when you do not want it too and the lens cap pops off when you turn on the unit.Be cautious in deleting the pictures from the camera. Untested are the movie mode. For $79 it is a steal and takes great pictures for the that price and for that matter better pics than the Samsung S630 which is no slouch. VG auto focusing and enhacement feature. Has a viewfinder which is a plus, not the best, but is workable. Powerful zoom, more than enough. Schneider optics are nice to have. Comfortable to hold, but I have small hands; should be nice for the ladies, but men with larger hands may find it comfortable as well. Has side mounts for camera straps a plus, the samsung did not have that, a minus for that unit. Camera is light. Indoor pictures with flash are just ok but enhancement feature does great correction(similar to feature found on expensive nikons and such). I have yet to test this unit on more colorful, architect, scenic of overcast situations but I would expect if to do well.

5 of 5 Best Features for the Price Tuesday, May 06, 2008
JC Smith from Bellingham,WA
This camera worked flawlessly out of the box. Just a little slow on the process time between pictures. Good color rendering and the 10X ZOOM is great. Buy good 2500mAh reachargable AA batteries and you are good to go. With a SD card reader and an off the shelf battery charger you won't need a bunch of other accessories. Keeping it simple is a good thing. It has a solid feel and the battery and media cover doors seem solid also. Of course with rough use anything Plastic will break but this camera should last a long time with a little care.

4 of 5 Good camera for the price Monday, May 05, 2008
Kevin from Midland, MI
This camera is a great value for the price. It comes with more than I will ever use, which is good and bad. I am more of a "point and shoot" kind of user, but it is nice to have those modes available. The lens cap does come of easier than I would like (as noted in other reviews), but hasn't been a problem to this point. The 10x zoom is very nice and the write speed for the camera is a welcome upgrade from my previous digital cameras. I am able to take action shots of my daughter at her soccer and basketball games and actually capture the shot I intended. I am using a "professional" series SD card, which might account for a little of that quick write speed however. As a whole, I am very happy with the camera so far.

3 of 5 Great camera but...... Monday, April 28, 2008
A Customer from Houston, TX
Long story short, make sure you test this camera well. I received this camera and tested it using at home. It took great pictures. Five days later, I went on two weeks trip and from the day one with lots of outside lights, it gives red lines on images randomly. I couldn't take pictures without having red strips after the 3rd day of my trip. Buy.com won't exchange or accept return after 14 days so not only I ruined my trip pictures but also ended up finding a way to fix this camera. I am hoping manufacture will fix without any cost but I don't know yet. Overall if it works fine, it takes a great picture but it is reconditioned after all.

4 of 5 Great shots for the price, works well, not for a p Wednesday, April 09, 2008
Cynthia Cross, Take the Lead Dog Training from Taneytown, MD
I have given this camera quite a workout over the past few weeks, and taken maybe 300-400 photos. It is not fully automatic and is not for someone who does not understand the settings. It took me a little bit to get the hang of the joystick operation on the back, but you have to play with it a little to find out where everything is. But - the shots are great, good quality, and I have had very little trouble getting excellent shots with very little practice. We train dogs and handlers and do a lot of stills and action shots in all types of lighting conditions outside and inside. So far so good. If you know something about cameras already and their settings, this would be a very good buy as an extra to take along, lightweight and small, but not too much investment if it was lost or stolen. Overall I am happy with the purchase, I got my money's worth already.

5 of 5 Kodak 7.1 MP EasyShare ZD710 Digital Camera Friday, March 28, 2008
A Customer from Plano, Texas
This is my 2nd Kodak camera and as before, the optics are great. It's easy to use, although navigating through the menu takes some practice. Do yourself a favor and order the extra SD memory card, since you will fill up the 32MB internal memory in a flash. This camera feels natural in my hand and I don't worry about dropping it as I did with some smaller cameras. Kodak really has a nice product here and I totally recommend it to anyone wanting a digital camera at an affordable price.

The camera looks good but it doesnt include a charger. That's a little lame. The lens and picture quality is cool.. Net Net, Its good value for money, but a charger is a basic necessity for a camera.
