| | | Not Everyone Deserves Their Own Talk Show. Features: DVD Alan Partridge is the hilariously unprofessional host of the cheesiest talk show imaginable. Self-absorbed and further handicapped with an ABBA fixation, Alan confronts an endless parade of C-list celebrities week after week with mounting frustration and antagonism. For anyone whoever lost the remote control during an inane talk show, Knowing Me Knowing You delivers the "Scenes We'd Like to See." This two-disc DVD set includes all 6 episodes of the series, as well as Christmas Special "Knowing Me Knowing Yule." "[Steve Coogan's] next career move is to become a leading man in big-budget Hollywood films." New York Times
 Editor's Note
A sidesplitting parody of talk shows (or "chat shows" as they're called in the UK), KNOWING ME KNOWING YOU..WITH ALAN PARTRIDGE is simply one of the funniest television programs ever made. The character of Alan Partridge was invented by Steve Coogan (24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE), and carefully sculpted by Coogan and his co-writers Armando Iannucci and Patrick Marber (CLOSER). Partridge first appeared on radio, with Coogan positioning Alan as the host of a 30-minute fictional talk show named KNOWING ME KNOWING YOU. Coogan's next step saw him taking the character onto comedic TV news-spoof THE DAY TODAY, which saw Alan posited as a hapless but hilarious sports presenter. The next logical maneuver was to form a TV show around Partridge, so Coogan gathered together a number of familiar actors and writers from his previous projects, and transferred KNOWING ME KNOWING YOU into a television show. The results make for breathtakingly precise comedy, with the luckless Partridge floundering out of his depth as he unwittingly offends guests; attempts to offer fashion tips; wrestles with half-naked men; offends the French; and a whole lot more. Fans of SPINAL TAP will relish the attention to detail as Coogan and his talented team play havoc with the talk show medium, and converted fans may find it difficult not to find themselves uttering Alan's immortal catchphrase long after the credits roll...."A-ha!" All six episodes from the show are collected here, plus the extended Chritmas special.
