Got this from Kingston's website - it was a little cheaper but says 'card not formatted' on perfectly working cards but when going to format, says 'unable to format' I'm a computer consultant and if it's not user friendly enough for me its not ready for normal consumers

This item works good on Win xp, however, there are compatability issues with Windows vista. I tried two different windows vista machines and one just detects the internal 2gb onboard flash but won't detect the 8GB sd inserted, the other machine doesn't detect neither the onboard 2gb flash nor does it detect the SD.
This would have been a great product if it worked in VISTA too! Was this review helpful?

I purchased 2 of these fantastic drives -- one for myself & 1 for my Mother. Both of our digital cameras use SD cards for storage & incorporating a SD reader into the flash drive was a solution long overdue. Now, we use the flash drive to move the pictures and/or movies to leaving a blank card to put back into the camera.
We both now are looking forward to a model with even more flash drive capacity to supplement this drive.
If you are looking for an all-in-one device for handling storage of portable data, pictures, or movies... this product is a MUST have! Was this review helpful?

This is a neat device and the built in 2GB storage is very fast. I have found SD cards to all measure in the range of 1.23 to 3.3 on a speed test. The Kingston SD card measured 1.46 and the built in memory measured 4.78
For reference, my systems SATA drive (7200 rpm) measures 51.2
