Kingston 8GB DataTraveler USB 2.0 Flash Drive - DTI/8GB - Amazing Deal!

Overall, this has worked great. I like that the cap fits on the back (although I busted it off accidentally). I have had this drive in my front pocket with my keys for over one year - no problems. Durable case, functions well, no problems.

Works well, as I expected. I have three others, ranging from 256 MB to 8 GB and see no reason to change manufacturers. I'm in no rush so speed is not a concern.

Great price and great performance. Plugged in and loaded 6 gigs of MP3s. Now I have it plugged in to my car stereo instead of my ipod. Works without a hiccup and very easy to use. By the way, the cap snaps on to the back of the thumb drive when in use, very convenient.

I have several Flash drives and the Kingstons are the easiest to use. The 8Gb is an upgrade to handle video, mp3, and PC-upgrade files. Works great. Best price thru buy.com.

As most of us can attest, we live in constant dread that our documents will somehow be lost if we have problems with our hard drive. I was using an earlier version of a USB flash drive, but it would only hold 640 MB of data which was becoming too small for the task. When I saw this item advertised for slightly more than $10 for 8 GB of storage capacity, it was time for me to upgrade. I use it exclusively for all those document items that I could not bear to lose, thus, I keep it plugged in all the time which gives me tremendous piece of mine, as all of my documents are saved on this wonderful little flash drive.

Never had a problem with Kingston products & prefer them to "comparable" cheaper brands. Love the stick drives. As always, everything was "as advertised", including how long it would take to be shipped & arrive.

I use several of these 'usb drives' for personal data. I've not been disappointed in the Kingston brand. For me the biggest asset is the stationary tip, not the movable tip on cruzer drives. No security software but I can live with it. The under $20 price was also a great point.

There's not much to say that differentiates the Kingston 8GB DataTraveler from other no-frills flash drives. It doesn't come with built-in security, or an external meter that lets you know how much of its memory you've consumed. What it does offer is lots of memory with all-around great performance and stability at a very attractive price. I use mine for "off-site" backup, namely copying those files from my PC that I can keep in a separate location so that even if my house burns down, my most important data will still exist. 8GB allows you to store an awful lot of critical data.

No problem with this device and would recommend it. I like Kingston products and prefer them over other manufacturers. One time I had some laptop memory go bad and Kingston swapped it out for a new module (no cost to me...even free to ship it back to them). Kingston's great warranty will prompt me to continue using them. Used free shipping w/ Buy.com and got in a few days. I buy many of my online items from Buy.com

Well as the headline suggests, its worth for its money. And I could not find a better deal anywhere else but at buy.com. I mean the prices do fluctuate at buy.com. But they are the best at this website. Anyways about the product, I have just bought it, but its working great and I also have a Kingston 1 GB flash drive since more than a year, I lost the cap, but it is still working great...! I would surely recommend to buy Kingston Products..! And this 8 GB drive is very valuable.

I tested this by transferring 3.1 GB of photo files. It took 11 minutes to transfer on an XP machine with an AMD Sempron 3100+ processor running at 1.8 GHz with 2 GB of RAM.

Needed a replacement drive for a flamed 1GB. Data transfers seem faster than the former drive, though I haven't put on the meter. This unit costs less than the 1GB drive. Outstanding!

I use this for transferring files, also for carrying portable applications - works fine for these purposes. This is my second 8GB flash drive; the cost was less than the 4GB I purchased last year. It did take 3 weeks from the time I ordered until it was delivered, but it was over the holidays, so I'm not surprised. Plus, free shipping at the time, so I can't complain!

We would like to tell you what we think of this 8Gig Kingston DataTraveler we ordered on 12/18/08. But as of today, 1/07/09, it has not been delivered!! Post office says it should arrive today, 10 days too late.

As the prices have come down, I have purchased THREE Kingston DataTraveler USB 2.0 Flash Drives over the last few years -- first the 1GB, then the 2GB, and now the 8GB. I have four Kingston Flash Drives. 1GB, Two 2GB,and a 4GB that are over two years old and still working great. My two new 8 GB, just purchased, have checked out fine. As always, I use the free shipping that Buy.Com offers and the delivery has always been within a few days. Kingston, in my opinion, makes a quality product.

From purchase, using XP, the entire capacity is recognized, but I can only use half the capacity. No matter what I try, it will only write 4GB to this drive. I've tried one large file, several small files, several types of files... doesn't matter - only 4GB is usable. Will be contacting Kingston for a replacement. Less than 2 weeks after I bought this, the 16GB drives were the same price. Just found a 16GB drive for $20 including shipping (less than I paid for the 8GB model).

Own Kingston 8G flash drive for a month, since that it worked and performed as expected. Used for carring out audio and video files, documents etc. Tested under Windows XP & Vista - no problem so far.

Easy plug-n-play flash drive. Cheap for such a large capacity - 8gb. Size is great for me as I do a lot of Photoshop and other graphics programs. Great for college students. Sturdy and solid design, not flimsy or cheap feeling. The "Data Traveler" sticker is shiny and glittery-looking, different from the sample images - not a deal breaker though. I'm never disappointed with Kingston products - I've purchased a 1gb and 2gb, with no problems whatsoever. I would definitely recommend this flash drive.

Works great. I love how the cap has a deliberate snap to it also. I have some PNY readers and the caps just slide off very easily in your pocket, then dust can get in the USB. This is in my pocket all the time and is great. Short money for a huge drive. I would definitely buy from buy.com again. Great service and a great product. Thanks.

The price of these memory sticks keeps falling and the Kingston product just keeps performing. I have owned the 1G, then the 2G, then the 4G and now the 8G and all have worked the first time and performed as expected. Even better, their flash drives are just that...a flash drive! Many other companies load up their flash drives with software you don't need or want and even make it hard to remove. Not Kingston. Great product and highly recommended.

I bought this because 1. it was the best deal on an 8GB flash drive at the time and 2. it -doesn't- require software to be installed like the 1GB flash drive I bought from a Best Buy. It has been very reliable and fast. I have the portable version of Open Office and Firefox (actually the whole suite of portable OS apps) so I can use them on the computers at school, because the school won't allow any programs be installed on their computers.
