2 of 5 Real dissapointment Saturday, May 03, 2008 Froggie the Gremlin from Robbinsville, NJ
Although some reviewers note this device to be very fast, I find it to be very, very slow when writing. With the wildly differing reviews availabe, I'm guessing machine architecture and possibly USB chipsets have a lot to do with performance. On my GeForce6100SM-M mainboard from ECS, this is a VERY SLOW device when writing. Was this review helpful?

I also have the Kingston DataTraveler 100, and it is definitely the fastest of the flash drives I've tried in this price range. It has beat the Sandisk and Lexar drives very noticeably. I haven't had to do any formal timing tests to tell that it is faster - by just using it I can tell it is obviously faster. The case on mine is well made with no looseness, and the slide out connector is neither loose nor too snug. Possibly the first reviewer just got a bad unit and should exchange it. I and the prior reviewer are very happy with ours. I would highly recommend this flash drive. Was this review helpful?

Not sure how the "slow" reviewer is hooking this up, but this is the fastest USB storage device I have ever seen (and I've used well over 10 different ones). I can backup a folder with well over 100 MB of files to this unit in 10-20 seconds, a GB in less than a minute. Kingston is, by far, the best maker of USB flash media (in my opinion, and I don't work for them or own any Kingston stock). Buy.com's price for this little wonder is awesome and they are always easy to order from and fast on the shipping. Was this review helpful?

Good price, fast delivery, lot of space, but cheap plastic and extremely slow, slower than connected to 1.1 port. Was this review helpful?
