5 of 5 Fast Delivery Wednesday, May 20, 2009 Rick B from San Pedro CA
The product was as expected. Extra memory.. blah blah blah. But, I was absolutely SHOCKED on how fast it was delivered. No exaggeration, it was at my house the very next day. I chose the cheapest delivery method too. Very simple installation. If I can do it, anyone can. Was this review helpful?

I have an old dell dimension 2350. I needed more memory for some photo editing software and other programs that I started using. The computer does seem to run a little faster with some heavier software. Processing some of my photo edits are quicker in part as a result of the memory upgrade (256 to 1G).
It was very easy to install. Just disconnected the power, took off the side panel to the tower, unplugged the existing 1 256 RAM module and plugged in the new 512 RAM modules. I connected the power and the system noted the new memory and all was good. If you have not been inside your PC tower/case in a few months I would recommend getting a can of compressed air to blow out any dust that might have accumulated once you open it. That would also help to avoid static shocks to the RAM modules and help ensure a clean connection of the modules to the motherboard.
I still plan to upgrade my processor and build a new machine next spring, but this simple memory upgrade should hold me over till then.
For those seeking new memory to run applications faster/easier, I would also suggest running msconfig.exe and doing a deep dive virus/spyware sweep as there may be hidden programs clogging memory and your processor that would otherwise still be a hassel even with the additional memory. Installing RAM is very simple... This 512 stick was installed in less than 3 minutes and yielded a tremendous amount of additional 'oompah' over the stock 256 mb in our Dell. If you're ording this as an upgrade for your own machine, be certain that your computer's motherboard will be compatible with adding this half-gig stick. May earlier model Gateways and Dells (among others) only have a 1gb capacity on them... Just a friendly warning!
This is a TOP NOTCH Kinsgston product that I highly recommend! Was this review helpful?
