I use this device daily and am very impressed with its reliability and value for money. Had one small problem when I first recived it - but Kingston replaced it with no questions.

1 of 5 Unusable-returned Thursday, November 25, 2004
kris from Warren, NJ
Have other thumb drives (Lexar) which work perfectly. This one at first would mount but gave errors on copying files. Tried to reformat but wouldn't unmount drive. Then didn't mount at all but format attempts failed. Attempted on two different machines and OSes. If it had worked I would have lived with the lousy cap but it's worth mentioning now that it is nearly impossible to remove. Why do they design things like that? Don't they ever test these things with real people? Value rating is for if it had worked. Ease of use is neutral since it is a simple product to use but gave me trouble. Obviously performance and satisfaction for me were poor.

5 of 5 Compact and Convenient Thursday, November 11, 2004
Gregg from Carmel, New York
I found this flash drive to be just what I was looking for. XP finds and loads the driver in seconds, and it's ready to use, just drag and drop, or copy and paste. Two very minor inconveniences on the downside are...you will need to download the driver for Win98 from Kingston's site, for use with that OS; and secondly, if your usb slot is located *right* next to another occupied plug ( usb, ethernet, ect.) you will most likely have to unplug the other cable temporarily, or use an usb extension cable to plug it in, due to the width of the Data Traveler's case. Forunately, a short extension is pretty inexpensive ( yes, would have been nice if it came with one though), and neither shortcoming detracts from how useful the device is. Beats several floppies, or carrying around a cd anytime, for temporary storage and/or tranferring data.

2 of 5 To big Tuesday, November 02, 2004
DLM from MadCity WI
I have several. Good deal cost-wise but they are much to large and tend to block the other ports, doesn't matter if the ports are side by side or top/bottom.

3 of 5 data traveler review Monday, October 04, 2004
A Customer from New York,NY
I thought the price value per mb was a good value. Compatible with usb 1.1 and 2.0. It came with a neck strap and keychain ring. The design is poor. I have a compaq laptop and it won't go into the usb port because the connection part is too wide. Which makes it useless since I use it frequently with my laptop for school. It should have come with an usb extension cable so those with the laptop problem can use the drive. I give it a 1 because it won't plug into my laptop. Might have gotten a 5 if it plugged into my laptop or came with extension cable. Also it didn't come with a driver cd. That is fine if you have windows 2k or higher. If you have win98 it tells you to go download the driver.
