I bought this to upgrade my old iPod Mini (2nd Generation) to 32GB... Took about 15 minutes, and it's working perfectly. I just installed the CF card in place of the old hard drive, and restored it. (For the first time ever, it restored without prompting me to plug it in to an external charger... I suppose because the CF card takes so much less power to run...) I have about 25 different playlists that I used to switch back and forth from, since I have this and a 4GB Nano. I keep the mini in my truck, and use the nano at the gym and on bike rides... I just selected every single playlist and hit apply... It loaded everything (about 15 GB worth all told) incredibly quickly... Very cool... I am now working on a big playlist, since I could have one playlist with 6 or 7 thousand songs... And still have room for several podcast playlists... Keep that on shuffle and I might never hear the same song twice and be able to remember the last time I heard it!
I don't know how long the mini would run on a charge now, but I would bet it's at least twice as long... Maybe three times! I listened to it for about three hours before I put it back in the truck (which charges the battery whenever the truck key is on) and the battery display never moved from full charge... The mini does everything so much faster now, too... There was always a delay when skipping songs, and you could hear some feedback for a few seconds from the hard drive until the buffer filled... That has completely disappeared...
Highly recommended for an iPod upgrade... HIGHLY! Was this review helpful?
