5 of 5 Kingston 2GB Data Travelers Tuesday, March 10, 2009
John Neff from Lehigh Acres, Florida

I recently purchased two Kingston 2GB Data Travelers which arrived quickly and in good condition. Both data travelers worked fine the first time I used them and, so far, have performed flawlessly. I have had very good use from Kingston Data Travelers in the past. They appear to be well made and the slide-out USB connector is a great convenience (no cap to lose). My only complaint about the devices is that they do not come equipped with a lanyard and the way they are made makes it very difficult to install one. All in all, I consider these units to be a very good value.

4 of 5 It works Monday, June 16, 2008
A Customer from East Jordan, MI
Works fine. Does as advertised. I'd like it better if it came with a lanyard, but for the price, I am happy. Software's not the best, but I didn't buy it for the software. For moving large files around, it works fine.

5 of 5 Power packed in small area Sunday, June 15, 2008
A Customer from sacramento CA
Its a lot of memory in that small a stick, also it has this unique design of not showing the usb connector so it looks like a small pocket stuff. Paid off itself on the first day of use.

5 of 5 good bang for the buck Monday, April 28, 2008
Lou from Woodridge, IL
Great deal and Kingston quality. I had trouble with the first one having a faulty connector. Kingston replaced it rather quickly at no cost to me through their RMA service and the replacement works fine. I can't say anything about the speed because I have older computers with USB 1.1 ports, but the storage capacity is accurate (not the case with some of the other brand thumb drives I've seen). I like the retractable connector better than the cap on my older one.

2 of 5 sound on system tray Wednesday, April 23, 2008
brahma from Bentonville, AR
I got it on time from buy.com, When I first use this drive on my vista laptop, it installed some drivers automatically and after that It started working and copying fine, but when I reboot my system, there is USB icon showing up on system tray often and giving the sound like 'tutum tutum .....' on a regular intervals, not sure every one has the same problem, but I don't like this noise at all.

5 of 5 nice device, seems sturdy Wednesday, April 16, 2008
Alex from Canton, OH
I've been using this for about 2 weeks now. I bought it to replace a pqi 2gb drive that became damaged after using it too much, and probably in my pocket. I chose this drive because it protects itself without a cap. so far it seems to do just that. i was a little annoyed that it didn't come with a lanyard, but i just stole one from my broken drive. overall a good product so far

3 of 5 a little flimsy... Tuesday, April 08, 2008
Byrdie from Mount Pleasant, SC
When I opened it I thought it felt flimsy, but not so flimsy I wanted to pay return shipping. Since it was on sale I decided to give it a go. A week later it took one "bump" and fell apart. Oh well. Prior to that it worked great :'-) If you need a cheap drive that doesn't need to be able to stand up to the abuse of moving around, this would be a good choice for you. I really liked the retractable USB head.

5 of 5 Cheap and good. Friday, March 21, 2008
A Customer from New York
I don't really know how to review this product. It's flash drive and it does that all flash drives do. But one thing I need to mention. I forgot it once in my pocket and washed it and I was shocked, that after 30 minutes of washing cycle and 30 minutes of drying it still works.

While I like the idea of "no cap to lose," the slide isn't the easiest thing to use for someone with arthritis. Other than that, it is a good value.

5 of 5 Reliable USB Storage Friday, February 29, 2008
Chez from San Diego, CA
I like the retractable USB connector - nothing to lose compared to the other type with a protective cap. I've had other Kingston USB drives (one I use to boot Puppy Linux) and found them to be highly reliable, so I expect this one to be no different.

5 of 5 Terrific Value Wednesday, February 27, 2008
burkshop from N. Illinois
Does what it's supposed to: stores data w/ease and efficiency, instantly recognized on PC (hear does same on Macs), one-piece (capless) design bonus, fast (USB 2.2 I presume). Price point and no shipping fees -- what more can you want? Great for carrying in purse, tossing in backpack, storing in car or wherever you may find need for quick, easy and reliable data transfer. We use it to backup important documents away from internal and external hard drives. Update weekly w/o a single negative issue. Storage is inexpensive anymore and this fits the bill!

Fast, easy, inexpensive, works great! The shipping took about 7 days but was free. It is retractable which is great. Moving files goes very fast. I've loaded tons of documents on to it and barely have used any space. Good deal!

5 of 5 Bargain item that works GREAT ! Tuesday, February 26, 2008
Richard from Westhope ND
I was a little skeptical about the quality of this flash drive, but it IS a Kingston item, so, give it a go, I thought. Great buy, works great, and easy to use. At last, something that is inexpensive, easy to use, actually does what is claimed and is reliable ! I wish now I had purchased more than 2 !

5 of 5 Quick and big... Not a common combination Tuesday, February 26, 2008
JP from Ohio
As the title says, 2GB is a good size for a jump drive. And this thing is FAST! Plugged into the back of my computer, and before my head is out from under the desk, it's open on my desktop... very impressive. The only thing I would change would be a cover of some kind. The connector retracts into the housing, but it is still open to dirt or moisture inside. This is a totally minor issue, as I'm sure it wouldn't have been as cost effective as it was if it had included some kind of seal. All in all, I would recommend it to anyone.

5 of 5 Retractable USB Flash Drive Tuesday, February 26, 2008
bugspop1 from Fort Wayne, Indiana
Got a great price at Buy.com! I recently purchased a Kingston 4gb Flash Drive and have been very happy with it. I saw this Kingston 2gb Drive at buy.com and I'm always in need of more space. The enclosure on this drive feels a little cheap compared to the 4gb but everything seems to work fine. Overall a good product!

2 of 5 Give Me a Key Chain Ring... please! Tuesday, February 26, 2008
Dave from New York, NY
To me, since pretty much every USB memory stick is going to perform about the same in terms of storing and transferring data, what makes or breaks it is the physical attributes. i had a SanDisk cruzer micro that lost its rubber cap in about a week, so i was looking forward trying a retractable type--and Buy.com's $11 made that attractive enough. But here's my beef: i don't know why USB stick makers can't put a DECENT KEY CHAIN HOLDER on these things!! I mean, isn't that the idea--that you take it everywhere? This thing has some kind of hole on the bottom of it that i tried FOR AN HOUR to get a key chain ring onto--to no avail! How frustrating. So my "ease of use" and performace rating reflect that. In terms of size, it's not the smallest (a bit longer, wider, and twice as thick as my cruzer micro). It is very lightweight plastic (doesn't weigh you down, but feels a tad flimsy). And i guess what i didn't realize about the retractable feature is that it's going to be just as susceptible to pocket lint as the one i lost the cap to. If the key chain thing is not an issue for you, this is a great value.

3 of 5 Good product for the price, but not very sturdy Tuesday, February 26, 2008
A Customer from Bayside, NY
The product is very useful. It hasn't a big memory to carry out all the contents of your PC (2 GB), but a reasonable storage capacity for an memory stick. Works efficiently and it's very easy to use. If you're a student or an individual who’s traveling around, then you would appreciate a device like this (packing a 2GB flash drive around is a lot more convenient and useful than packing a pair of CDR/W discs). Retractable USB tip is a great plus. It's an inexpensive solution but it's delicate and constructed with really weak plastic. If you want a pro-stick and are willing to shell out two to three times the price, then go elsewhere. If you want a stick that will constantly go around with you in your pocket, go elsewhere for something tougher. If you just need a stick that you will use from time to time and can put away in your computer bag, then this is exactly what you want. Great price for the storage capacity and speed, but very light and not for constant use or pocket travel because it lacks physical integrity.

5 of 5 Well Worth It Tuesday, February 26, 2008
A Customer from Avon, Ohio
These drives are a great product and a great value. I especially like the retractable connector, though I do get worried that something will get into the exposed opening and foul it up. But, I like them enough overall that I've purchased four of them.

Bought 2 of these to use at the church for power point. Like the design in that you can not loose the cover, as the connector is retractable. Little wider than most I have used, but for the price? Would buy again.

5 of 5 Small, functional AND durable Monday, February 25, 2008
A Customer from Cedarburg, WI
I just needed something basic and inexpensive for a short term project I'm working on and this product fit my needs nicely. Plus it's small enough to carry around in that small, jean pocket so I can carry it around unobtrusively. Unfortunately, this is a mixed blessing as I had forgotten it was there when I washed my jeans. The good news ... even after a full heavy wash and spin cycle, the data traveler survivied!! ( I don't recommend trying this intentionally, and I did feel it necessary to open the case to make sure it dried out as I thought it might have a more difficult time surviving a tumble dry. The case doesn't reseal after opening though, but a bit of glue and/or tape holds it back together nicely) At the right price, I would definitely buy another. Great product!!

5 of 5 The amazing shrinking storage device Monday, February 25, 2008
Johh from Clarkston, MI
Ya can't help be be in awe on how they can make storage as small as they do... This product appears to be glitch free. It is very compact and with the button that hides/protects the USP connector, you have to wonder just how small the storage package really is. This product does all that I need and the price was great.
