You never know who you will run into next.

Kingdom Hearts is the story of Sora, a 14-year-old boy whose world is shattered when a violent storm hits his island-paradise home and he is separated from his two closest friends, Riku, a 15-year-old boy, and Kairi, a 14-year-old girl. At the same time, there is turmoil in Disney castle. King Mickey is missing, and Court Wizard Donald and Captain Goofy set out to find him. On their travels they meet Sora on his own search for his lost friends. The three are told of ominous creatures known as the Heartless - beings without hearts derived from an unknown dimension and as it turns out, manipulated by Disney villains and the ones responsible for the devastating storm. Upon discovering the link between the Heartless, the storm and the disappearance of King Mickey, Sora, Donald and Goofy join forces and heip familiar Disney heroes to save their worlds.

5 of 5 GREAT GAME!!!!!! Sunday, February 16, 2003
A Gamer from Acworth GA
Kingdom Hearts is on the best games I have ever played.. It can be frustrating sometimes, that if you die and you saw a dialogue, you have to keep watchingthe dialogue again and again, that is the only thing I didn't like, cause it gets annoying.. but the gameplay, the story.. everything is almost perfect!!!! If you have a PS2 and don't buy this game, then you don't know anything about good video games!!!!

5 of 5 Best game on market Wednesday, February 05, 2003
nicktx1 from Dover,DE
I think Kingdom Hearts is the best game made from Disney ever. That is a little compliment of what this game is. I own it. I love it. Anyone who doesn't have the game should get it. I think it is better than Final Fanasty X, which is the biggest compliment for a role-playing game.

5 of 5 Definitely NOT just for the kids! Thursday, January 09, 2003
dricchezza from Redding, CT
This past Christmas, I got Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Twisted Metal Black, and Kingdom Hearts as gifts. Before I continue, I should make mention of the fact that I am a 35 year old married male. I couldn't wait to get my hands on GTA: VC and left the other games off to the side. By Saturday, I opened Kingdom Hearts and started playing, and I must admit, it hasn't left my PS2 since!! This may be the best game I've ever played. It starts slow, with lead character Sora performing simple seek and find tasks for his island friends, but when the plot unfolds and Sora meets with a Donald and Goofy, the real action begins. The people at Squaresoft combined all of the best elements of Final Fantasy with all of the Disney characters that you know, and may not even love, and made one truly phenomenal game. As Sora, you will not only travel from world to world embarking on a quest to find King Mickey, but you will also be called upon to stop the Heartless, find your missing friends, and I believe ultimately confront the truly evil Maleficent. You will also seek out the missing Dalmation puppies and you'll receive an enormous amount of power-ups along the way. There are mini-games in some worlds, particularly on Hercules' world, where you will compete in tests of strength and ability again and again as your experience increases. If you're a fan of the Final Fantasy series, you can't go wrong with this game. Don't let the Disney theme put you off - this is not a kiddie game by any means.

4 of 5 Kingdom Hearts Wednesday, December 11, 2002
Andrew Hutchson from Tallahassee, FL
Kingdom Hearts may be a must buy for some of you but other people (like me) might not be a disney fan. It has good gameplay and very cool graphics but, its difficulty to get the secret ending is way too hard. To get the secret ending you have to find 99 missing dalmations, win the game with all keyholes locked, and win the Hades cup. All in all, Kingdom Hearts is a very good game with lots of disney characters. I give Kingdom Hearts for the PS2 a 4 out of 5.

5 of 5 Excellent Example of Squaresoft Attention to Detai Tuesday, December 03, 2002
datavortex from Stockbridge, GA
This is a wonderful game for those that don't mind living in "Disneyland" for many hours while on their PS2. The character development, plot, cutscenes, level design, and graphics are all first-rate; just like we've come to expect from the obsessive programmers of Squaresoft. My only two complaints about the game are the soundtrack and the camera handling. The music within the various worlds is about a 6-9 minute loop of the Disney movie themes the world is drawn from. After the first few hours, you'll really never want to hear "Under the Sea" ever again. Also, the way the camera angling works is nothing short of infuriating. It's a constant impediment to seamless gameplay, always blinding you to your opponents, making jumps three times as hard as they ought to be, and being a general relentless annoyance. But, you can see from the ratings I gave that even despite this serious flaw, the game is easily still worth your US$50.

5 of 5 A Must Own for the PS2! Friday, November 01, 2002
pgarcea1 from Elmhurst, Illinois
If you are a fan of squaresoft, you will love this game! You play as Sora, the young yet brave hero which seemed to be lacking in Square's last release FFX. With Sora you travel through several worlds modled after your favorite Disney movies. With your companions, Donald and Goofy, you seek to discover the source of the appearence of a new evil known as the heartless (I won't ruin any more). From the opening of this game you realize the countless hours Square and Disney put into this game, with an amazing CG played to the song "Soft and Clean". From that point on the game grows more and more allowing Sora to discover more and do more with each new world he visits and each new ability he aquires. While the end of the game was not really what I was looking for, I still enjoyed this game very much, it is a must have for the ps2.

5 of 5 Do you like Final Fantasy? Monday, October 21, 2002
phill from montreal canada
if you liked the final fantasy type games and you grew up with disney like me, then you are going to love this game! it's a beautiful mix of puzzles, fighting action, and brilliant story telling. unlike final fantasy turn based fighting, kingdom hearts has all the fighting in real time where you work alongside your teammates and fight in a 3d environment instead of in one spot. you can move anywhere in a room while fighting, sometimes you need to get behind some enemies to attack them. the enemy AI is very good, some of them are very smart which makes me happy because i'm tired of fighting zombies. your team mates are also controlled by AI but you can customize their personalities and fighting style in a menu where you choose which attacks (offensive, defensive, and special) they will do most often and how often they should use potions or special attacks. combining all the characters from disney titles as well as some others which you will recognize like cloud and cid from final fantasy 7. i was instantly sucked into this game and just couldn't put it down from the start. the challenges and mystery's throughout the game can seem a little confusing but in the end it always clicks so it doesn't leave you screwed. in between discovering the story bit by bit you have intense fighting action where you are teamed up with many characters from disney, predominantly donald duck and goofy, but also so far i have fought alonside simba, tarzan, aladdin, and of course donald duck and goofy and i just started. if you don't believe how great this game is then go rent it like i did, but trust me you will be coming back here to buy it before your rental is due because you're not going to want to be long without it.

5 of 5 SquareSoft & Disney what did you expect! Wednesday, October 16, 2002
animefanzgirl from NYC, NY
Well Squaresoft has outdid itself this time. I say that after every Final Fantasy game comes out but this time I REALLLLLLY Mean it. A fan of both Squaresoft and Disney I anticipated the release of this game but did not know what to expect. On first glance you'll say..oh this is cute. But when you start playing you will be pleasantly surprised at what you find. The graphics and the story are both amazing. Get the "special movie" at the end and you will be blown!!! This is one of the FINEST games that I have ever played. It is challenging enough to keep you entertained but not overly difficult. (FF games are much harder than this one.) For those of you who are turning your nose up at this game thinking that the Disney aspect will make it "kiddieish", give it a chance you will be PLEASANTLY surprised. The theme song has become my latest favorite song and I make everyone at work sick of it. And I have to admit the ending had me teary-eyed. I can NOT say ENOUGH great things about this game. It is worth every penny you pay for it and then some. This is a MUST HAVE if you are a FF fan, an RPG Fan or a Disney fan!!!!
