5 of 5 The next best thing since the Apple remote ! Tuesday, September 02, 2008 John from Jacksonville ,FL
I got an emac ( to watch movies on ) and after I installed Leopard I had the beautiful Front Row looking back at me so naturally I wanted a remote.... after looking i found the Keyspan remote....I crossed my fingers and BAM !!! It works just as good as the Apple remote... I plugged her in and just started clicking.... I didnt have to sync it or any thing..... Best Remote For old Apples Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works great - not configurable Wednesday, June 04, 2008 Eric from Eagan, MN
I purchased this item to serve as the controls for a home-built digital picture frame. The RF was strong enough to work from a comfortable distance. Despite what the manufacturer states, it works perfectly on Windows as well as the Mac. Because it simply shows up as a generic keyboard, I'd imagine it would work with Linux as well. The only real downside is that the keys which the buttons are mapped to are not configurable. Since this is meant to be a replacement remote for IR remote for Front Row on the Mac, it is understandable. This wasn't a problem for me, since I wrote the software used on the picture frame. It is odd, though, since I also own a slightly different Keyspan-brand remote which came with a surprisingly flexible configuration application for both Windows and Mac. Was this review helpful?
