5 of 5 Great for Macs! Wednesday, July 16, 2008 Bill from Rancho Santa Margarita, CA
Had two printers connected to my PowerBook Pro that were being shared with 3 other Macs scattered throughout the house. Problem: whenever I needed to take my laptop on the road, my wife and kids couldn't print anything. Most print servers state PC only, but this touted both, so thought I'd give it a try. Plugged it in, installed the software on each computer, all computers immediately "found" the printers, and I'm off and running. No "lost printers," no disconnects or error messages, no need for "firmware" upgrades to make it work. Simple solution, and no more grumpy family when I'm out of town! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 It works OK Monday, January 21, 2008 A Customer from Tampa, FL
It's a little funky to get set up. You really have to read the instructions, something I don't usually do! But once you get it configured correctly, it seems to work just fine. I have a Canon Pro 9000 printer that i'm using it with it and all functions operate normally. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Cannot Recommend Wednesday, November 28, 2007 snok75 from Eagle Mountain, UT
I cannot recommend this product. The installation had me to the point of wanting to call support. After reading and rereading the installation manual and rebooting several times, I was finally able to get it working. Now that it is working it is, it is flakey at best. It really is a crapshoot as to whether you will get your printout or not. Seriously considering sending it back. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great idea - Poor documentation - Nice when workin Wednesday, November 28, 2007 S Martin from Allegan, MI
First, I have been looking for something like this for a long while. I wanted to retire a network print server with parallel connections and add my USB printers. The product was smaller and a bit cheaper feeling than I anticipated, but I can live with that. The biggest problem I have is that the documentation was very poor. I was able upgrade to a newer version of the software, but it had NO documentation at all - site said it would be added soon. I also have had some issues with my software firewall. The availability of my printers has not been consistent. I had been using CA Internet Security, but just switched to Norton and now it appears to be better. I'm still holding out hope for this product, but if I have more trouble I'll have to toss it. Was this review helpful?
