3 of 5 Not as bad as people say Tuesday, December 09, 2008 profane77 from Easthampton, MA
There is a static problem if your cable is not aligned just so, and the transmitter seems to be easily overwhelmed by transmissions on surrounding station, but if you can find the right frequency it works well. All in all, an OK value. It's cheap, but you get whayt you pay for. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Static!!! Monday, June 30, 2008 A Customer from Houston, TX
Buy this product only if you like tons of static with your music. If you don't like static mixing in with the music, then stay away from this product. It's not the good static like Yo La Tengo, it's the bad static like the old black and white TVs that couldn't receive one of the three available stations. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 First bad Kensington experience Wednesday, June 25, 2008 Richard from Roswell, GA
I will first say that I am a big fan of Kensington products and I have never had issues with any item from the brand until I purchased this FM Transmitter. I have tried this unit in 3 different vehicles and I didn't get a signal in any of them. I am currently in the process of returning the item to buy.com. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT PURCHASE this transmitter. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Wait a second, it does work Monday, June 23, 2008 A Customer from New York
When I first plugged it in and tried it, I had trouble and thought was a worthless piece of crap, but quickly discovered that the wire acts as an antenna, and remembered that the FM antenna in my car is embedded into the rear windshield. So I took my runner's iPod sleeve and put it on the sun visor, and ran the wire up to the iPod, it worked perfecly, and it was also easier to see and control the iPod from there as well. So you may find that if it does not seem to work well, it is not the device, but the antenna position in your car. Was this review helpful?
