5 of 5 Kids think it's COOL!! Saturday, May 09, 2009 A Customer from Salt Lake City, Utah

5 of 5 It does a good job for the money Friday, February 13, 2009 Roger from Phillipsburg, NJ
I just got this item today and it fits my need perfectly. All I was looking for was an amplified speaker for my Zen so when I want to share a video with somebody we can both hear the sound together. It does this well, but if you are looking for better sound quality and don't need the storage for your player, consider getting the Nokia MD-8 Mini Speaker System instead. It's a few bucks more but looks like it will please those who are looking for better sound quality. Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Great for the price! Wednesday, May 28, 2008 A Customer from Seattle
We bought this for our 14 yr old daughter. We didn't want to spend much, since 14 yr olds tend to lose things. When it came we tested it and it worked fine. No, it's not a booming sound with great quality; but for $10 it will be fun for her to take to the lake with her friends and we won't have to worry about it. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 NICE SOUND Wednesday, May 21, 2008 MARK from KAPA'A, HAWAII
THE Kensington FX 300 Portable iPod Speaker System WORKS WITH ANY MP3 PLAYER. IT SOUNDS AMAZINGLY GOOD FOR SUCH A SMALL SPEAKER. THE ONLY DRAWBACK IS YOU CAN'T CONTROL THE MP3 PLAYER (CHANGE TRACKS, ETC.) FROM THE OUTSIDE...ONLY THE VOLUME. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Waste of money and doesn't work! Monday, May 19, 2008 A Customer from Houston, TX
Well, I purchased this item and was greatly looking forward to using while on vacation. Unfortunately, when I installed new batteries...nothing happened. I swapped batteries again and still nothing. This was a waste of money and is of very poor quality! Save yourself the time and funds! Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Just What I Expected Monday, May 12, 2008 George from Chevy Chase, MD
This small portable iPod speaker system is the perfect thing to take on trips to play music quietly in the evening.
It is a basic system that is small and easy to pack. I can see taking is on hikes/picnics for my wife and I. It is exactly the right thing for these sorts of uses. And the price is right.

5 of 5 Third One And Counting Friday, May 09, 2008 Happy Speaker Box Owner from Forest Grove, OR
First one: For Daughter's Ipod. The batteries were dead but that was easily fixed. Dad was jealous so...
Second one: for little Zvue video player. Zvue is a headphone only (no speaker) video player small enough to carry inside the Kensington box and we just plug the speaker wire into the player's earphone hole and prop the player against the closed box. Miniature theater experience! So...
Third one: being bought way in advance of our annual Christmas, "everyone bring a $10 gift" and we'll draw numbers then either pick or steal presents. (I forecast this will be one of those presents that will be fought over.) Way cool! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 exactly what I expected Friday, May 09, 2008 Tim from San Diego, CA
This thing works great. No problems whatsoever. Livens up the walk to the park with the stroller and kids, I find myself turning it down when I get close to people, it actually gives some good volume, at least for a $10 portable speaker. Yeah it gets fuzzy when the iPod is on full volume but it's $10, so this is not a complaint. I wish I'd ordered more as gifts. My 1 year old likes to mess with it and so far it has taken the abuse and the mac and cheese washes off the rubberized cover very easily. The speaker is well protected, you don't see it, so juice, sand, whatever, can't harm it. And no compatibility issues, all my portable players have a headphone jack to plug this in to. 5 of 5 Tiny, cute little speaker Thursday, May 08, 2008 A Customer from Florida
I love it! I plugged in my iPod and it works with no fuss. Since it's a small speaker, it won't give you a stereo sound. But I'm very happy with it. I'm not too particular about big sound quality. This little speaker lets me listen to my iPod in the bathroom, out in the porch or even while camping. It doesn't seem to use up much batteries either. To me for only $10 you can beat that! This is a very clever product but I never use it because the sound quality is so poor. It's quite small and the sound is about the same as you get from any small transistor radio - not very good. Not really worth the 9.99 I paid. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 As Advertised...and then some Wednesday, April 23, 2008 Kj Knows from Dallas Tx
While it certainly won't replace your home or car audio system, I don't how you could expect much more for the money. Nice clean sound (like a strong AM radio)and couldn't be easier to use. And unlike the experience of a couple of other unfortunate reviewers, it worked great out of the box...yep, even using the cheap-o batteries supplied. Very neat way to have your ipod tunes handy minus headphones...c'mon folks it's ten bucks. Outstanding value. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great little gadget!!!! Tuesday, April 22, 2008 STEPHANIE from Chicago
I love this little speaker. I work in a car where with no radio. I guess management feels it will divert my attention. Everyone at work noticed the speakers because of its carrying ease. I put it in my car, set my ipod on shuffle, and enjoy music for the duration of my tour of duty. When I am inside the office, I listen to my music while creating reports. It is great. I also love that the case protects my Ipod. The sound is best for the price. All of my co-workers are ordering the Kensington now. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great deal! Old fashioned service! Thursday, April 17, 2008 A Customer from Treasure Island, FL
I bought two. One worked great, the other was DOA. An email to Kensington customer service had a replacement shipped in less than 24 hrs. I was very impressed with the perfect service from Buy.com, Kensington's customer relations, and the value of the speakers. Great on the beach. Try to spend 10 bucks better! Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Good buy at this price Wednesday, April 09, 2008 Nikhil N from Trumbull, CT
They probably produced this product in the millions because of the price. Well, at first glance, as soon as you open the package, you can see the colour of the packaging sticking to the case, but thats fine. Then the batteries that come along with this, dead, thats fine too. But when you switch the system on, and play your ipod, thats when you realize how convenient this is, you need to manage the volumne levels to the exact point where its loud and its not cracking, so I recommend this product, good buy. 5 of 5 Nifty travel case with decent speaker output Monday, April 07, 2008 SharonW from Hamden, CT
I bought this for my Zen Vision W, a much larger than most MP3/ MP4 player. It fits in it very snuggly and provides excellent protection for carrying to and fro. Smaller players will have plenty of room to store extras in here.
The speaker output is quite decent and obviously simple to use with a basic dial on/off volume control. I did not expect to be blown away by the sound quality given the price, but it does the job more than adequately.
The price was the kicker. You can't even buy a plain case for a Zen Vision W for this price, let alone one with a built-in speaker. I'm thrilled with this purchase. I feel like I got a lot of bang for my buck. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Simple and attractice Monday, April 07, 2008 A Customer from Anaheim
The case seems to be well made, and the sound is better than expected. Don't get me wrong, it is not a great sound but it is ok what what you get. The price is right and I would recommend it for that reason. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Deal Monday, April 07, 2008 A Customer from Seattle WA
Doesn't sound like a Bose system but it only costs 10 bucks. Works well when I'm working on a project in my shop. This will be handy for fishing on my boat too. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 It is what it is Monday, April 07, 2008 A Customer from Baraboo, WI
I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. Simple little case/speaker. It actually sounds better than I anticipated. Will work great this summer out at the end of our pier.
Fits fatter style mp3 players well. I have a Creative Zen-M 30 and it fits like a glove. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 A handy little product Sunday, April 06, 2008 Bonnie from Tacoma, WA
This is really a handly little item. There are times when earbuds and wearing an iPod in its action jacket doesn't work very well. This little speaker works very well. It doesn't have the greatest sound in the world, but for the money that's OK. I use it to listen to audiobooks where sound isn't as critical as it is for music. It's really nice for travel, especially for my husband and I to listen to the same book. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Bought two...one doesn't work.....afraid to open t Saturday, April 05, 2008 A Customer from Dallas, Texas
Hmmm....The light is on but nobody is home. And yes, I tried new batteries. Even though the indicator light is on, no sound comes out. I'm afraid to open the second one I bought. I hate to get stuck with two that don't work! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Very Convenient portable way to share iPod Saturday, April 05, 2008 A Customer from Cinnaminson, NJ

1 of 5 This Product Does not work Saturday, April 05, 2008 ian91277 from Cumming, GA
This Product has bad wiring, so the battery connections do not work correctly. The battery posts do not stay connected so the power is not supplied. Waste of money.

4 of 5 Good value for money Saturday, April 05, 2008 A Customer from Irving, Texas
Hi: For the price I was not expecting much and you don't really get a WHOLE lot with this, but hey it is convenient, protects your ipod, and is easy to travel with. The volume on the high levels starts breaking up, but to be expected I suppose with this type of price point. But, buy.com is a great day for this! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Deal Saturday, April 05, 2008 SP from Avon, CT
Unlike many of the reviewers, I bought 2 and they both worked right out of the box. What more could you ask for $10. The sound is great and the volume is fine - loud actually if you turn the volume up of the iPod and the speaker. I'm glad I didn't read the reviews first and hope my experience is more representative. I have 3 more on the way to give away. Even my granddaughter thought it was good, she wrote and said, "It is soooo cool! I was listening to it earlier (and still am) and i was experimenting with the sound, and it got REALLY loud. hahaha. Mom's jealous". One of the 3 on the way is for Mom, my daughter. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Cool and portable Friday, April 04, 2008 Mitch from Rockford, IL.
I found this speaker to be fun and a nice way to protect my iPod. While the sound is ok, its compact and fun packaging is up to the task. I like the volume control and on-off feature located on the outside of the system. Sure, sound is limited quality, but for a couple of AAA batteries it delivers decent and maybe more importantly--portable sound. I found the battery life to be quite long if the volume of the iPod is up. I take it to the park or on walks. I recommend it if you want to protect your iPod and listen on the go. 5 of 5 Surprisingly loud Friday, April 04, 2008 A Customer from Blacksburg, VA
The unit I received works great. I've had no problems with it. It is surprisingly loud and bassy for it's size and cost. The quality isn't perfect, but I am definitely impressed - even at full volume there isn't that much distortion. The fact that the case is soft and fully enclosed is nice too. 4 of 5 Just Perfect for my 30GB Zune Thursday, April 03, 2008 Chetan from Bothell
I was skeptical when buying but it's just perfect. I can even fit in the zune usb charger with ease. My wife loves the sturdy texture of the exterior and flexibility it brings to the carry the music where you need.
Love the product! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Amazing product for its value Thursday, April 03, 2008 TK Tan from Philadelphia, PA
I use this speaker for my zune and the sound quality is really good for its value. It is better than what I am expecting since this product is relatively cheap. Just like other people said in the review, I have the same problem with the battery connection. The first time I installed the battery, no sound came out and light indicator was off. I checked several times the battery by put in and out the same battery and finally the battery somehow are connected with the source, and I can turn on the speaker. I have no other problem beside this error. I have been using it for a month and very satisfied with the sound quality and recommend this product for its portability, sound and price. 4 of 5 It's an OK system Thursday, April 03, 2008 The Red Spider from Aiken, SC
This item is a speaker and MP3 player case combo. When open, one side of the case has the speaker and holds two AAA batteries. It appears kind of cheap. The other side has a connection that plugs into the ear-phone plug of your MP3 Player. It also has a net pocket to hold the MP3 Player. To use,(after you put batteries in the speaker system), you plug the speaker system into your MP3 Player then turn the player on to what it is you want to listen to. After that, you just zip the speaker system closed and use the knob on the front of the system to turn the speaker on and off. The knob also manages the sound level as does your MP3 player. For best results, turn the sound up on your MP3 Player. That provides more volume control for the system speaker. I have a Sansa that works well with the system. The system also makes a handy case for the sansa, plus a place to store the ear-bud head phones. Sound from the system is about what you would get from a small, portable radio. I like the system because I don't like to use headphones and I can find it easier than the Sansa. The only downside to the system is that you need to turn the speaker system on and off separate from the MP3 player and it's easy to turn the speaker off but forget to turn off the MP3 player, then have the batteries in the MP3 player run down when you want to use it next. It is worth the $10.00 and free shipping from BUY.com, but not a whole lot more than that. If you want full room sound though, get the larger speaker systems that are available. My daughter has a set of Altec-Lansing speakers for her Zune (it can plug into all MP3 players; it just doesn't charge them) that really gives out good full sound. It's not portable though, since it needs to be plugged in to a power outlet -- end Red Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great value and great product! Thursday, April 03, 2008 AKA Mao from Fremont, CA
My kids got IPods for Christmas- I didn't want them to constantly have headphones on in fear of damaging their hearing- when I saw this, I picked up a couple and couldn't be happier. The kids like them and I have the peace of mind that they're listening to music too loud on their headphones. Sound is OK, but for the kids, they don't really care. If you're looking for something to fill a room or with deep bass, then this is not what you should be looking at. If you want to just hear your music and don't expect audiophile quality sound, then this is just the ticket. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good deal!!! Thursday, April 03, 2008 A Customer from Flowery Branch, GA
Speakers play well with good sound. We listen to audio books and this is the first speaker I've found for under $50 that will play them with a descent quality. Music sounds great. Hard case. Overall I say awsome deal. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 A lot of value for a little package Wednesday, April 02, 2008 joema from Pittsburgh, PA
Hey, for $10 this convenient device puts out some decent sound. It's not going to blow your doors off, but it's a very easy and inexpensive way to get the job done. I love it and won't travel without it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 amazing product for its value Wednesday, April 02, 2008 TK Tan from Philadelphia, PA
I used this speaker with my zune, and the sound is very good. It is better than what I expected since the speaker is relatively cheap. One technical issue though, I has some trouble with the on button. After I put in the battery, I tried to turn it on, but I did not heard any sound, and light on indicator was off. After several times checking and put in and out the battery, the speaker can finally be turned on and is working perfectly. I guess somehow the battery was not connected the first few times I installed the battery in the battery compartment. Overall, beside the little problem I encountered with the battery, I am very satisfied with this product and would recommend this speaker for its portability, sound, and price.
