4 of 5 No More Dead Battery! Thursday, March 08, 2007 gdc1 from Saylorsburg, PA
My former transmitters did not charge the IPod. So this eliminates that big problem. The device is very easy to use. There's no fumbling to find the right frequency. The only downside is the limitation to 6 frequencies. So far, it hasn't been a problem. We'll see what happens when I hit the highway. I definitely recommend it. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good but not worth $43 Thursday, May 11, 2006 The Junkie from Westfield, NJ
I purchased it a couple of months back (when it was on sale) and since then I have had little issues with it.
It Works everywhere with good reception even in crowded areas of NJ. Just plug and set the frequency and play. Good FM quality music. It comes with no manual. Pre-defined frequency, that you have to determine pretty much on your own because of no manuals. Get static signals once in a while, though they are weak and rarely happens on highways. A small delay before your FM recieves the signal from the transmitter but you get use to it.
To sum it up, it is good product but with more iPod FM Transmitters out there with extra options, this one falls behind them and the price does not help it's cause. With few extra bucks, you would be better buying one that comes with a holder and a digital FM transmitter Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 good product! Tuesday, December 20, 2005 Chandler Bing from California
I live in the bay area (south) and this FM transmitter works fine here at 88.3. It only has eight stations it can tune to (88.1,.3,.5 and .7, and 107.1,.3,.5 and .7), so if you have all of these occupied then it's not worth it. The quality of the music, as anyone who has researched on iPod FM stuff knows, is not as good as what you would want it to be. There is a lot of static while driving around. But, for the price, it's one of the cheapest around and I can carry all my songs with me! Nothing compares to that! Was this review helpful?

Some of these FM transmitters broadcast on channels 88.1 - 89; some of them on channels 87.1-88 - or some combination. MAKE SURE YOU TEST THE FM STATIONS IN YOUR AREA TO CONFIRM THAT YOU HAVE AT LEASET SOME OF THESE CHANNELS THAT ARE NOT ALREADY OCCUPIED.
Another words, ideally you should have a choice of 2 or more channels within the range where you cannot hear another station - either clear or partial. In the Dallas area, the best stations are 87.7-87.9 becuase they are not already occupied - otherwise you will not be able to use this type of device and get a clear broadcast from your iPOD - it will be competing with a radio station. Kensington IPod FM Transmitter/Auto Charger allows you to connect your ipod through the cigarette lighter allowing you to both charge and listen to your ipod through your car's radio/speakers. The directions gives you certain frequencies that work specifically for your car radio. In my case it's 88.1 FM. So I simply plug it in and change the station to 88.1FM and I start listening to the music. The volume is controlled through your radio. It's very easy to use and it's great for those long drives or when you're stuck in traffic. Was this review helpful?
