Comedian Kathy Griffin tries to climb the ladder of fame in this Emmy-nominated reality show. A self-proclaimed resident of the D-list, Griffin attempts to claw her way to celebrity status armed with her self-deprecating wit and the help of her devoted husband Matt, her assistant Jessica, and her wine-swilling mom and dad. When that's not enough, Griffin has her two gay best friends, Dennis and Tony, to aid in her quest. The first season finds Griffin suffering through talk show gigs, bargaining with fellow comedian Ray Romano for charity appearances, and enduring a humiliating celebrity auction, all with side-splitting results. Griffin isn't afraid to laugh at her self and her lack of A-list status, and the audience is always laughing with her.
