I bought this recorder mainly to record telephone conversations and stored phone messages and voicemail.
The reproduction of the sound from these venues is far below the fidelity and clarity I expected or wanted. When the message can be understood at all, it is fuzzy and sounds as if it were coming from an echo chamber.
The only reason that I gave the recorder as high a grade as I did is because it does an adequate (but not great) job of reproducing sounds recorded directly from voice prompt. I should return the recorder but I will give it to my grandkids as a plaything.
Although I did not expect high-fidelity sound from such a small unit, I did expect more than it has delivered.
