JVC XV-BP1 Blu-Ray DVD Player - XVBP1

This is an excellent player. For the price and feature set, it can't be beat. I was debating between this unit and the Panasonic BD80. The JVC was spot on with the features, and once I saw the price, I had to go for it. It is a sleek player, that looks great in any component cabinet. It has plenty of illumination for those of us who like the "blue" led look. The LED lighting is a bit bright, I don't know if it can be turned down or off, but I like it. The load times vary from each movie, been as fast as 8 seconds, to as long as 25...not bad. The picture quality is spot on, and I have had no problems with any disc I have put in yet. I don't have a 7.1 receiver, and I opted to connect with a coaxial cable. The sound is perfect, and I hear effects from my rears that I did not hear with my DVD player. What I do hate about the player is the non-lighted, non-glowing remote..not too fun to turn the light during a movie to find the pause or rewind buttons. I also do not like that there is no rear USB port, so if you want to do BD-Live, your thumb drive will stick out the front. That's it. If those last (2) issues don't bother you, you cannot beat this player for the price and quality.
