I purchased this unit to replace my single disc, first generation CD Player (circa 1985). The size of this unit surprised me, almost too big for the cabinet (depth, especially). I wanted a multi-disc player, and this semmed to fit the bill. Used it extensively over the past few weeks, and it has been reliable, although a bit noisy as it swaps discs if you have the unit in "random" mode. I suppose if I wanted to change out my entire stereo system, I would have gone another route, but for my immediate needs, this works just fine, thank you.
