 Editor's Note
The Jeffersons are "movin' on up" into the fourth season, which saw short-tempered dry-cleaning businessman George (Sherman Hemsley), and his sassy wife Louise "Wheezy" Jefferson (Isabel Sanford) continuing to adjust to life in their fancy new high-rise. The maid, Florence Johnston, has moved in to provide full-time service--and twice the laughs--while next-door neighbors Tom and Helen Willis, who were quite possibly TV's first interracial couple, add to the fun. In season four, Louise is kidnapped and held for ransom, George pursues some questionable methods of improving his business, and Harry spills his ant farm in the living room right before a visit from the landlord. The series, a spin-off of ALL IN THE FAMILY, maintained its popularity until its abrupt cancellation after 11 years.
