2 of 5 Incoming sound is too low! Tuesday, June 03, 2008 A Customer from Hacienda Heights, CA
It's slim, it's easy to use, but none of that does me any good if I'm having a hard time hearing the person talking to me :'( If they would have just added at least 2 more volumn levels, it would of been good, but now I'm going to have to return this and try a different model. 1) it has to be charged only using the Car charger, no other avenues ( like USB or home)
2) can be switched on but cannot be switched off if there is any need for it
3) voice quality is sometimes very bad but nothing to do with the service area, because sometimes bluetooth ear piece work well but not this kit.
4) it would be great it they could minimize the size but that's not an issue. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Close but not great Thursday, May 01, 2008 Peter from Warrenton, VA
The Jabra SP5050 shows great potential. Being able to talk on a speakerphone and be truly hands-free is great and the way to go.
Problems with the SP5050:
1) It does not come with an ac charger! So when you get the product, it can only be charged in the car. This is stupid and I told Jabra so. To my surprise they agreed with me!
2) Sound quality is not very good.
3) It does not play very loud. If you have a car with average amount of noise, conversation can be difficult. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Elegant design, wish it had a display Wednesday, March 19, 2008 A Customer from Seattle, WA
I've been using this device for a couple of months now, and I've decided to replace it with one that has a digital readout. I'm tired of making sure my phone is out in the open so I can see who is calling or in order to see which number I'm redialing. However, I'm going to miss the low profile design (fits great on my visor) - and no one has complained about the sound quality even though it doesn't have noise reduction. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 works great! Tuesday, March 18, 2008 A Customer from mt. laurel, nj
the speakerphone has great reception; however, the cord is too short; will have to buy the AC adapter. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent!!! Get more than what you pay for. Tuesday, March 18, 2008 AR from Columbia, MD
I bought this because I drive a lot over the weekends, & I needed something I could use while driving on the Highway, this was just perfect. Clear & disturbance free, extra long battery life.

We have to be hands free in California so I keep looking for the perfect device. I hate wearing something in my ear. The Jabra fits the bill. It's out of the way and provides crystal clarity. I too wish they had provided another method for charging the device, but beyond that, I highly recommend this device Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Don't hesitate Saturday, February 23, 2008 A Customer from Oakland, CA
Like other reviewers my only complaint is the lack of a wall charger. Other than that - I couldn't be happier with this product. Crystal clear, easy to pair. Check with Jabra if your phone does not show on the compatibility list and they will look it up for you. Many phones are not listed on the site! Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 The Best For Your Money Wednesday, February 20, 2008 Brian Stine from Cape Coral, Fl
You can't beat this with a stick! The performance is great, the sound is impeccable and the ease of use is beyond measure. It does almost everything (except toggle between calls) to include voice dial. If you are looking for hands-free operation without looking like you are an extra from a Star Wars movie, then this is the purchase for you! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Won't work with all phones Tuesday, February 19, 2008 A Customer from Tacoma WA
I was able to pair my wife's LG Chocolate, but not my Verizon 6700 or my Blackberry. Really haven't put a lot of effort into making this work. Audio quality is very good. I can never tell the difference between a call on the Jabra or just the handset. Was this review helpful?

I bought this unit after reading high rating reviews on Buy.com. However, the unit is quite disappointing. The unit is not as intuitive as described. The display is confusing. The sound quality is not great from the receiving end (I can hear the other end clearly but the person i am talking to can barely hear me). The unit takes a long time to connect to my cell phone via bluetooth (I have to try at least 2-3 times). Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Buy Tuesday, February 19, 2008 Kurt from Volo, IL
Out of all the bluetooth devices purchased this is by far superior and most of all, an excellent price for the value. I really like the fact my wife is finally utilizing a hands-free device. Simply press, pair, and talk. The only feature I miss is voice dialing, but I now have total freedom of my hands and an added bonus - no weird looking device stuck in my ear. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Does just what I wanted Tuesday, February 19, 2008 Tony from Visalia, CA
I didn't want to have something on my ear at all times, what I wanted was to be hands-free in the car. This does exactly that...it allows me to talk on my phone hands-free in the car. It's easy to pair and I have yet to have a dropped call. Volume could be a little louder but at the loudest setting it is loud enough. I have it paired to my iPhone and even my non techie wife can and does use it. If they were in stock right now I'd buy another! Was this review helpful?

Unlike the other reviewers I found the volume to be a problem. Easy to use, good price but just not enough volume. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Much more convenient than an earpiece Monday, February 18, 2008 A Customer from Bothell, WA
Very easy to use. The whole black part of the faceplate is the button so you don't even have to look at it to turn it on. No fumbling. Works like a charm and the sound is pretty good even considering my car has a lot of road noise. If you have a quiet car would be even better. So much better, and less distracting, than fumbling for an earpiece while you're driving.
Hold a charge quite well. Has no problems synching with my LG phone. Turns itself off automatically 15 mins after losing the phone signal so you don't have to think about turning it off.
My only criticism is that they only provide a car power adapter and my car won't charge anything unless there is a key in the ignition. I would love an ac adapter but the jabra site doesn't list one. I'll probably pick up one of the adapters that you can plug in to the wall and then plug in the car adapter but it seems like jabra should make one instead of making you buy something potentially incompatible. 5 of 5 BUY THIS ONE Monday, February 18, 2008 KTGarron from Medina, OH
Excellent product and very easy to use. The hardest thing to remember is that you can talk in your normal voice and so can the person with whom you are speaking. You will want to yell but it only sounds like you are yelling, the other party will much appreciate this bit of advice.
If you change the link from one phone to another, just hold down the on/off button a little longer at startup to re-activate the link mode. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Worth the money Sunday, February 17, 2008 Mike from Blue Island, Illinois
Like other people who bought this item, I think it is the best thing for in car talking, charging it could be better. The sound and mic are very very good, no problem hearing or talking. It`s worth the money. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Nice sound, but it should go to 11. Sunday, February 17, 2008 A Customer from Taunton MA
For the price, this product is a steal... but if your car has a lot of headroom (for example, a minivan), you might find yourself leaning forward to hear the caller when you're cruising at highway speeds. Callers can hear me fine, but it would be a 5-star product if the volume was just a bit louder. I've found myself picking it up and holding it closer to me just so I don't have to lean forward, but that pretty much negates the hands-free benefit. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good enough Sunday, February 17, 2008 A Customer from Parsippany, NJ
Good overall. The only downside for me, the control lights are very dimmed not seen in daylight, not talking about the useless night option. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Works well as a car handsfree speakerphone Sunday, February 17, 2008 A Customer from san bruno, ca
It arrived on time and in good condition.
Its works quite well and people hear me okay.
I like it.
My only reservation is that it only comes with a 12v car
recharger. That makes it difficult to keep charged when
only driving around town. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 eh, it's ok Saturday, February 16, 2008 SS from Glen Burnie MD
This is a great little device with long battery life and auto-turnoff after 15 minutes of leaving your vehicle which is nice.. I find myself having to talk really loudly while driving over 50mph and whoever is on the other end, says 'huh?' a lot due to road noise.. these two things gets frustrating, however i AM due for new tires... I also have a jabra 350 ear piece but i'm not completely satisfied with either of these solutions for hands free driving and am looking for other alternatives. I do like this though and feel safer with it, plus i don't miss calls anymore since the speaker phone plays a cool little jingle while receiving a call, even with the phone on silent. I would recommend it a little for casual/occasional use, or even more highly for quiet cars. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Perfect Saturday, February 16, 2008 Kelly & Eugene from Centreville, VA
My husband and I both bought one, we are new parents and take safe driving seriously. We love this because it connects easy, its easy to use, works well with my phone's voice commands and has lengthy talk times. My husband is in sales so he is in the car and on the phone a lot, he loves it. we loved it so much we bought one for my mother too! Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Good product (Sync's with Iphone) Monday, February 11, 2008 Barry from AZ
Good product but as identified in other reviews lacks an outlet adapter. So plan to drive around your block for 2 hours to charge or you could always buy an adapter on Ebay for $10 which is the way to go. I'd like the volume to be louder. But overall a good product sync's will with iPhone Was this review helpful?
2 of 2 customers found this review helpful. 2 of 5 Sleek design, very quiet at highway speed Sunday, February 03, 2008 A Customer from Fremont, CA
I like the design. It looks very sleek. The other party on the phone hears clear sound. The problem is that the sound inside a car is not loud enough at highway speed.
The volumes of SP5050 and my RAZR V3 were at maximum, but I could not understand a word when I was driving at 65 mph. The tech support advised to drive with closed windows and turn off the stereo, which I already did. I returned SP5050 for a refund and got Motorola T305 instead which sounds much better.
I drive Honda Accord. It is not a best car in terms of road noise. So if you've got less noisier car, you might get better results. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Not intended to be hardwired Saturday, February 02, 2008 Happy from Providence, RI
I felt compelled to write this review after reading the previous user's review.

First off, this unit works VERY well for a non-hardwired unit - or even for a hardwired unit for that matter. My wife uses this Jabra on a daily basis and she is very happy with its ease of use, call quality, and battery life. Yes, she has to go through the PAINSTAKING task of unclipping it from her visor every COUPLE OF WEEKS to charge it overnight, but she is definitely okay with that. When I speak to her, I can barely tell that she is on the speakerphone. Considering the great price that buy.com has sold this unit for, it is an EXCELLENT deal for a high quality piece.

Now, for the hardwire guy, THIS IS NOT A HARDWIRE UNIT and nowhere does it claim to be! You may as well tell us that it doesn't fit on your ear, so you don't like it, so you give it one star. I have a hardwired Motorola unit in my truck and it is THE CLEAREST and THE EASIEST unit I have ever used. But not everyone wants to spend the money or time for a full install. And people with company vehicles CAN'T do that. This Jabra is so close in quality to my hardwired unit that it truly impresses me. Don't give it a bad rap because it doesn't do for you what it never claimed to do in the first place. Was this review helpful?

The SP5050 uses a bulky, proprietary power connector (not mini-USB) and the cable is thick and coiled. Charger also puts out a non-standard 4.2 VDC. If you wanted to hardwire this unit into your car, it will be a real challenge. Am I really supposed to remove it from my visor every few days to charge this thing, or worse yet, have a thick cable dangling across my dash? Was this review helpful?

I purchased a Jabra SP5050 for my wife for $50 and waited until she was happy with it before I ordered another. Unfortunately, the price went up by 50% in the interim. It just dropped back down and I ordered mine. This speakerphone is great in that it has a small profile but performs very well. It is so much better than the annoying earpiece and battery life is relatively long. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 A Great product Friday, January 18, 2008 A Customer from Pinole, California
I am very pleased. This is a great alternative to having
to wear a regular blue tooth on your ear. They are very
uncomfortable. The Jabra SP5050 sound quality is very clear and it is very easy to use. I would highly recommend it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Speakerphone - Poor Charging Wednesday, January 16, 2008 A Customer from Gaithersburg, MD
