The Jabra M5390 Multiuse Bluetooth headset connects simultaneously to mobile phones and desk phones - or to mobile phones and PC softphones (via the included A335w USB adapter). The M5390 combines the sound and range performance known from office headsets with the convenience of a mobile headset. Based on next generation Bluetooth technology, it offers true wideband audio. The extended wireless range provides up to 200 feet of range. The design and wearing style is optimized for office staff, managers and specialists who spend most of their time in the office – and less on the go. For optimum call clarity in loud office environments, the microphone features noise canceling technology. The Jabra M5390 can also seamlessly connect to a mobile phone or PC-based softphone via the USB adapter. The Jabra M5390 is no ordinary bluetooth headset, it is a multiuse headset that connects simultaneously to mobiles, desk phones and PC softphones. Additionally, Jabra is one of three vendors (including GN Netcom entity) who has Microsoft Office Communicator certified headsets. Clarity is great if you are near the base. The real benefit of using a wireless anything is so you can move around but it is limited to 40 feet or so and then the reception is too bad to hear. It will connect to a bluetooth phone or phone base or you can use its built in bluetooth, which does give you greater distance but not much more. The 200ft is non sense. Maybe mine is defective. I'm sending it in for replacement after only a few weeks. If that doesn't work, I'm switching.
