5 of 5 Fantastic Product!!! Sunday, June 21, 2009 Tushar Jain from 83843
This is really very good worth for your money... I got it last week and was little skeptic about voice clarity at other end (after reading the reviews)... but I tell you! my experience is awesome with this product... There is no problem what so ever... may be they have done something good for sound... it is very clear for both sides... battery life is also good!!! I would strongly recommend it to those planning to buy headset!!! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Overall Decent Buy Saturday, May 09, 2009 A Customer from Round Rock, TX
Paired with no problems. Very simplistic and easy to use. The battery like could be a little bit better. It probably gives about 8 continuous stand-by/talk time. Then again, maybe for some that's excellent. Also, it could be a tad louder. Overall a decent buy. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Perfect for the Price Sunday, May 03, 2009 Brad from MI
I have used many different headsets including the pricey Jawbone II this headset beats them hands down.
Quality, comfort, and size makes it a choice pick. It was even one of CNETS top 10 in 2008.
Only wish the volume was a little louder. Its not as loud as a wished it would be for playing stereo music but it works decent.
For those who are wondering about it working with the Blackberry OS I use it on my BB Storm and it works great with no loss of functionality. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Very nice headset Saturday, April 25, 2009 A Customer from chitown il
This is a very nice headset. My prior experience has been with Plantronics Explorer 320's. In comparison, this is a little softer sounding, not quite as loud, but loud enough. Sound quality on the other end is very good. This one has A2DP that I got to listen to Sprint TV on my Blackberry Curve. It should be noted that with the current BB software, only music can be heard using A2DP, not Sprint TV. This is not the fault of the Jabra, but is a limitation of the BB.
It doesn't look like it would be comfortable to wear, but I have had no problems with wearing it. fits fine using a unique rubber band like piece attached to the earplug.
I would have preferred that it would have used a standard USB connector so I could recharge it from my laptop, instead it uses some sort of micro usb-like connector to the power supply.
Someone below said that theirs came with the USB-like charging cable, but mine did not. Also the description of the product did not indicate that there was a cable.
I really have no complaints. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Husband loves the Jabra Tuesday, April 21, 2009 A Customer from Houston, TX
I bought this for my husband who has been through several blue tooth devices including the JawBone ($140) which hurt his ear.
He loves it! It fits inside of the ear without a wire so it is comfortable. It cost me $25 so if he loses it I can afford another! We are quite satisfied. I am buying another one for my daughter! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good, but not perfect Saturday, April 18, 2009 Anatoly from Falls Church, VA
The good: the headset works great, the sound quality is very good for both me and the person on the other end of the conversation, and I can listen to podcasts (which is the entire reason I bought this particular model) and have one ear free to the surrounding environment.
The bad: it was not very comfortable in my ear with the one included ear gel. Fortunately my wife had a complete set of ear gels from an old Jabra wired headset which work with this headset as well and fit perfectly in my ear. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 4 of 5 Not bad but certaintly not the best... Saturday, April 18, 2009 Tom N from Buena Park, CA
The main reason I bought this headset was that it is A2DP compatible which means that I can use it as a headset to listen to music. Most BT headsets cannot do this. Make sure that your phone supports A2DP if you want to use this headset to listen to music. I paired mine up with a Samsung i-760 and had no problems. My phone even asked me if I wanted to enable A2DP for this headset. If you aren't going to use it to listen to music, I would recommend disabling the A2DP on it to save the battery life on the headset. Listening to music on it while at work makes work more tolerable :) Although it's obviously not stereo, it's fine for me because I can't be wearing a stereo headset to listen to music in the office. The nice thing about this headset is no one knows that I'm listening to music. When an incoming call comes in, the music stops and I can answer the phone and talk on the headset. Nice feature. However, I have to resume playing the music manually but that's not a big deal.
Call quality on the headset is good but not exceptional. Like other reviewers, I agree that the volume could be louder at its loudest setting. One thing I learned after a few days of wearing it is to make sure that the eargel is positioned correctly. For me, I position the earcanal portion at a 2 o'clock position with the headset held horizontally and the mic at the 3 o'clock postion. If you buy from Buy.com, make sure that you get 3 eargels of different size because that's what Jabra gives you in the retail box. If you got it from bulk like I did, you're probably going to get just one eargel. Luckily for me, it fits my ear. But you might not be so lucky.
Battery life on the headset for me, since I have the A2DP on all the time, varies from 3 to 8 hours depending on how much of the time I'm streaming music.
Overall, I'm satisfied with it especially for the low price of 24.99. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 3 of 5 Good aspects, not great overall Monday, April 13, 2009 DH from Medina, TN
FYI, I have been using this headset fairly consistently for about 3 weeks... Let me start off with the good... It was light, small, and fairly comfortable. I could also hear pretty well on my side and it stayed consistently connected without static. And it is not terribly expensive.
On the other hand, if the sound can get a bit tinny at times, and more often than not the person on the other end could not hear me very well. As soon as I switch from the headset to the phone or to a different headset (BT250V) the person on the other end makes a comment about how much clearer they can hear me, like I lifted a pillow off my phone. Coming from using the BT250, I was very disappointed. I tried everything possibly could because I really wanted the headset to be a good one. It was all in vein, it's more frustrating having to repeat what I'm saying 3-4 times with increasing volume while using the headset than it was to just hold the phone to my ear.
Overall, I would suggest trying something else, if you don't mind a behind the ear headset the BT250 is superior in sound quality and comfort, the downside to it is background noise and it tends to disconnect and reconnect to my BlackJack II.
Hope this helps. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Easy to use Saturday, April 11, 2009 Rich from Duluth MN
I'm a big fan of Jabras 'around the ear' devices so this is the first 'in ear' piece. So far I like it. Very simple to use and it links without problems. As for the ear gels,,, after a few emails to Buy.com without help I wrote Jabra a email and they are sending extras as I type. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great Headest, Major Issues with BlackBerry OS Monday, April 06, 2009 Mark from Dallas, TX
Let me start by saying once I got the headset to work, and despite the loss of some functionality as a result, the sound quality was great and the headset was exceptionally comfortable.
HOWEVER this headset and my BlackBerry Pearl (and from what I've now read many other BlackBerry models) did not want to get along, and had I not been a fairly tech savvy guy, I would have returned it on the first day. Long story short, you have to tweak a number of settings to disable functionality on the BlackBerry or your calls will constantly drop. There's supposedly a fix in the works, but I have yet to see one. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Buy.com Scores Again Monday, April 06, 2009 Walt Repak from Spring Hill, FL
The first thing we noticed when trying out the Jabra BT8040 after it arrived, was how comfortable it was. We previously had bad experiences with ear bud headphones, so we were curious. But the fit is fine, for both myself and my wife.
Secondly, once we finally paired it with our phones, it worked very nicely; the other party was able to understand the Jabra user with no cutouts, far surpassing a several year old Motorola model we had been using previously.
Our only complaint was that pairing the unit with our phones took far longer than it should, because the instructions enclosed with the unit were incorrect. We located the correct instructions easily enough on Jabra's website, but come on now, guys!
Once again, we have been thoroughly satisfied with Buy.com's outstanding service. Somehow they consistently manage to locate top quality merchandise and deliver in a very timely manner.

5 of 5 $24.99 is a steal for this little guy!! Monday, April 06, 2009 Aaron Pearson from Long Beach, CA
I tried out a Jawbone 2 for about a week and hated it. The back of the Jawbone rested on the cartilige of my ear and hurt like crazy. A buddy of mine has one of these so I decided to give it a shot. I have no problems with comfort with this little guy...most of the time I can't even feel it. It could be louder when you are in noisy spots but even the Jawbone had that problem. For $25 you can't go wrong! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great product for the price Monday, April 06, 2009 A Customer from Rosemead, CA
I used a few other bluetooth before by far this is the best one I had. The only problem with this item is the ear piece is too big for my ear if you have a small hear like me for sure you will not like it. It took a few minutes for me to pair it with my iPhone maybe I am not pairing it correctly. It is very light weight you won't even notice after a while, but I usually don't keep it on my ear unless I am actually using it. Overall satisfaction I gave it a 4 that is because it doesn't come with extra earpiece adapter like other bluetooth I've purchased before and the owner's manual. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 the best of all available right now Monday, April 06, 2009 VaaS from chicago, IL

5 of 5 Great sound, compact. Sunday, April 05, 2009 A Customer from Alexandria, VA
No problems. Nice design. Good sound quality. Came in a plastic bag with a "refurbished" tag from Jabra, although was advertised by Buy.com as new. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Price, Great Product Sunday, April 05, 2009 A Customer from Houston, Tx
Had just bought a new IPhone and needed a headset. I purchased a Motorola brand one at Bestbuy and it kept dropping the call and would shut it self off. A friend told me about Buy.com and this model and you CAN'T beat the Price... $80 at Bestbuy, $50 at Overstock.com and $24 on here.... it was a NO BRAINER. It arrived ontime without all the fancy packaging and works great.

5 of 5 Nice headset Saturday, April 04, 2009 Dave from Orlando, FL
I got this headset because of the value and good experiences with Jabra products in the past and I have to say it has not disappointed. The way it lays in your ear takes some getting used to (mine did not come with the additional covers of different sizes), but it is a lot more secure than it seems at first. Once in, I hardly know it's there. The sound quality is great (though could be louder) and people hear me well on the other end. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Very Pleased Saturday, April 04, 2009 Bill from Allentown, NJ
Sound quality and comfort of this product are very good for the price that I paid for it. People do ask me if I am on a speaker phone which means that the quality they are getting is not as good as if I were holding the phone, but that's probably true of most headsets. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Blue Tooth for Dummies Saturday, April 04, 2009 Bill from New Jersey
I could not be happier with this little blue tooth. I bought it to use while driving. I hate things hanging on my ear and this looked like a good solution.
It is light, sets right in your ear, easy to use, and best of all everyone can hear me clearly. No more wires ! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 AMAZING PRODUCT!!!!.....AT AN AMAZING PRICE!! Friday, April 03, 2009 John from West Bloomfield, MI
I am glad that I bought this!!! I was using two cell phones and was looking for a headset that connects to both simultaneously.. and BT 8040 works like magic!! Its very easy to setup with two cell phones... From OFF keep pressing the button until the blue light comes steady..(pairing mode)..turn the bluetooth ON on the cell phone and scan for devices, and you will find JABRA BT8040. Then to pair with the second cell phone, switch the headset OFF by pressing the button until the red light flashes. Again keep pressing the button until the blue light comes steady. Pair with the second cell phone as you did on the first one.... Voila! you are ready to go. You will be able to answer to both phones with one headset! The voice dial command works with the last paired phone. The head set fits good in my ear..though it came only with one eargel.. Amazing voice clarity.. Wish it had a little more volume (but it works just fine).. I would recommend this headset 100% Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great product for the price! Sunday, March 22, 2009 Nathan from Shalimar, FL
Not sure if it was "New" in poly bag as it came with a Refurbished Products Limited Warranty. It states it only comes with a Quick Start Guide, which that's true, and wouldn't have been a problem, but I suspect it is a refurb item because the "Auto pairing" function the "first time" you turn on the unit didn't work probably because it had been turned on before. Regardless, I went to the Jabra site and got the full instructions and paired it up easily with my HTC Fuze. Tried all of the functions and they all worked well. Works good as a single ear music earpiece. Like others have said it could use a little more volume, but it hasn't really created a problem for me yet. Just remember this isn't retail... doesn't have full instructions and doesn't come with the USB cable for PC connectivity (firmware can be updated.) All in all a good product for the $25 I paid. 5 of 5 I love mine! Friday, March 13, 2009 Nancy from Athens, AL
I have been using the BT8040 for about a year now. I love it! It is so comfortable that I sometimes forget I have it in my ear. It pairs quickly with my phone (enV), and when I'm not using it for making calls, I can listen to music from my phone. If a call comes in, I can take the call, then return automatically to the music right where I left off. Calls are clear on both ends, and it has a good range (away from the phone) too. The only problem I have had with mine is that the loop on the earbud is a little too fragile for a pocket, but it comes with extras. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Easy to use and great sounding Bluetooth headset Tuesday, February 24, 2009 Jason from Kenosha, WI
I've had the Jabra BT8040 for a few weeks and have found it to be a very nice little Bluetooth headset. It's very easy to use and the sound quality is outstanding. I only have two gripes. First, the multi-function button is in an awkward spot on the earpiece so you have to be careful to not knock it out of your ear when you answer or end a call. Second, the volume doesn't go very high. I always have to have the volume at the maximum to be able to hear who I'm talking to. Overall however, I can't complain. The headset is reasonably priced and very easy to use and you can move quite far away from your phone without compromising reception. Was this review helpful?

Very small, great sound quality both incoming and outgoing. Love the pairing with my phone so that I can hear my navigation instructions thru the earpiece. The only complaint is that it is not as comfortable in my ear as I would have liked. Honestly, I haven't tried all of the ear buds that come with it, but still. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Nice piece for the price Wednesday, December 17, 2008 A Customer from NJ
Overall - very satisfied. Having used Scala and one plantronics model, I find this to be the one with the best clarity and least static even when I move away from the phone. The only issue I have had is when I used the BT for last number redial, it made my phone hang for a while. I think it may be related to my phone (Palm Treo 650) than the BT. Light in weight, easy to fit.
Would recommend. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 customers found this review helpful. 2 of 5 I wanted to Love It! Tuesday, June 03, 2008 MFairbairn from Wellington, FL
This is easily the LEAST comfortable thing I've ever put in my ear. Maybe I have strange ears - i dont know. First, it comes with this little loop on the ear piece - how that fits in your ear, i couldn't figure out. I cut the loop off - then just couldn't get comfortable.
The second issue i had is that it didn't have any sort of clip to put it on your shirt collar when not in use. I know I might be crazy - but I've never been one to walk around with a bluetooth in my ear unless im actually using it.
I bought this to replace a blueant Z9 that I had lost - and now, I've ordered another blueant Z9. They're very similar - but the Z9 is just sooooo darned comfy. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Yes, it DOES work well with glasses! Tuesday, May 20, 2008 Joan Barger from Manchester NH
I've been having a problem with earbuds ripping out or getting caught on things while traveling, or spending more time untangling them than listening with them, and I usually leave only one in so I can hear environmental sounds anyway, so I did a lot of research and decided this was the best choice. I have a problem with over-the-ear phones because I have to wear glasses, and the BT8040 gets around that. It stays in very well but is very comfortable unlike many earbuds, and setup is not very complicated at all - it worked instantly with my Axim, and the problems connecting it with the dongle were due to hiccups in the software installation first time round. The one flaw is that it is a little too quiet, as some reviews warned: I realize there are hearing safety concerns with earbud type equipment, but I would prefer to have the option to lower the volume myself. Also, the fact that the blue light doesn't stay on means that I have let it run down a couple times, not realizing it was still on. Was this review helpful?
1 of 2 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Better than Jawbone Monday, April 14, 2008 Marco from Chicago, IL
first of all, i use it with a motorola RAZR. i've made the comparison with the jawbone because i heard a lot of people saying jawbone is the best, but it is not, and i was skeptical when i ordered the bt8040.
i owned a aliph jawbone for about 5 months and something i din;t like is that if you keep it in your pocket you might break the earloop, which most likely will happen (good thing you can replace them, which is the advantage over motorola's headsets; i also had a h700) wich is the first i noticed and liked over the jawbone. the BT8040 is not as loud as the jawbone, but you can still hear clearly, but the person you talk to over the phone hears you clearer than when using the jawbone, which is the most importatn for me. the bt8040 has better noise canceling than jawbone. fits better in my ear, more confortable, smaller, connects faster to your phone than any other headset i've used. the only thing i din't like about the bt8040 is that they don't make a retractable charger cable yet (it has some kind of non standard charger connector) but you get 2 chargers with it, one usb charger cable and one wall adapter and i keep the usb one in my car so i can use it with my ipod charger.
overall i'm 100% happy with my purchase. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 4 of 5 Excellent but need more volume Wednesday, December 05, 2007 Danny Davisson from Placentia, CA
The Jabra BT8040 delivers as promised with the following exceptions:
1. Like most Bluetooth Headsets it needs more Volume. At the loadest setting it's okay but I would like to have some room for adjustment when in noisy environments.
2. The Noise cancellation is no where near as good as the Jawbone that my office buddy has.
Other then that I like the product. Was this review helpful?
