Jabra BT620s Bluetooth Headphone Review
Anything But iPod
Published on: 10/5/2008 6:52 PM
Bluetooth certainly has it's flaws, but if you're looking to go wireless the BT620s is an excellent choice. The sound quality is very good for a Bluetooth headphone and decent design and battery life is what's made this 2 year old model a best seller. The affordability doesn't exactly hurt either, so if you have a A2DP capable player and don't require audiophile grade sound quality there's little reason not to get a pair. What I'd really like is a over the head version of this as a lot of people (me included) prefer this style of headphones and currently there are way to few such Bluetooth headphones out there. ...read the full review

5 of 5 Great BT headphone!!! Thursday, April 23, 2009
SS from Sunnyvale, CA

This is my second BT620s, I had bought first one for my wife, now I have bought this one for myself. Great for listening to music and talking on phone. It has a very good battery life and can be charged from USB port of PC or using an A/C adapter. If you plan to use a headset for extended hours and hate those headsets that stick into your ear, then BT620s is for you. It is very comfortable. I am able to pair it with Motorola/Samsung cell phone and DELL laptop.

5 of 5 It works Saturday, December 13, 2008
He from Chapel Hill, NC
I have no phone experience to report. I bought it just for my notebook pc. It has a vista OS, and built-in bluetooth. Connection was a breeze. The headset was recognized as "Bluetooth Audio Renderer Jabra BT620s (Audio Sink) for stereo playing back, and Bluetooth Audio Input Device 2-Jabra BT620s (Mono Audio) as input, without any CD or downloads. I can use tapping to play/pause, fast forward/backward, and prev/next from the headset for windows media player and iTune on PC. Skype works like a charm. Battery is good too.

4 of 5 Great pair of bluetooth headphones Tuesday, November 18, 2008
A Customer from Andrews TX
Headphones work great no prob connecting to my samsung sch-u520 phone that is aprox 2 yrs old. All controls even worked. The headphones sound very well, i was surprised how good they sound considering the price under $50.00 Wearing the headphones takes some getting used to because of the behind the neck style, but even after wearing them for 3 hours straight they still didnt feel that uncomfortable. The only flaw i found is the volume doesnt go quite as loud as i had hoped. i run a part time lawn care service and i cant really hear the music while useing rideing lawn mower, weedeater, blowers and such. but if your not going to have very loud background noise while useing them then all is good. i use them at work and really enjoy them. Also very cool to just push a button on the side and answer a phone call. Battery life is very awsome I got 3 days use out of the first charge at aprox. 5-6 hours use each day. Over all i think it is a great product and a very good buy.

5 of 5 Good value, easy to use Wednesday, August 06, 2008
A Customer from San Francisco, CA
I missed the $10 Samsung Bluetooth headphones/headset, so I bought this one for $30. Good deal compared to other similar headphones. It's easy to use, works well with my phone-turned-music-player as well as my laptop (although sound quality off the laptop is sub-par), and easy to tell when a call is coming in. Music resumes after the call is over. Great for those long biking trips. Cons: Blinking is kind of annoying, especially in dim areas, but I guess it's easier for people to find you. It's also loud enough to be heard on the lowest volume setting in the quietest areas.

5 of 5 Great Headphones Monday, July 28, 2008
A Customer from Duluth, GA
These are my new favorite pair of headphones for my Dell laptop and sound great. I've listened to audio through my LGCU500 and sounds impressive as well. As well as sounding great, they are very comfortable and controls work with iTunes as well as Windows Media Player. I haven't ran the battery out so it seems to last, but I am disappointed that you cannot use them while charging. These headphones sound great and block out outside audio and do not slide off (as stated below).

1 of 5 Not that good Thursday, June 26, 2008
A Customer from Grapevine Texas
Poor Quality, slides off of your ears, allows outside noise, volumn control broke after 2 days - one of these days I'll learn that you get what you pay for - I turned around and purchased the Motorola S9 it is pricier but you get everything you want in a sterio headset / bluetooth phone adapter.

4 of 5 Jabra BT620s Tuesday, June 10, 2008
A Customer from Olympia, WA
Pro: Great bluetooth headset for the price. Sturdy, Great battery life, Great audio (with A2DP devices), and good range when paired with a Jabra A320s USB Adapter. Con: non-adjustable band, unconfortable to wear for hours. Comments: I'm still a little disappointed that I have yet to get the non-stereo headset mode to work with non-voip apps on PC.

5 of 5 Great stereo sound Friday, June 01, 2007
A Customer from San Juan Capistrano, CA
I purchased this headset to turn my LG phone into an music player and it performs very well for that. The call sound quality is also excellent. I am happy I now have a headset I can use for all my needs, phone & Computer. The only negative is the high sensitivity of the dome switch, causing unwanted call and/or music play.

5 of 5 Easy to follow instructions Monday, May 28, 2007
ucffather from Sunrise FL
The headset performed flawlessly after setup and full charge up. The only Caveat is the tap controls are too sensitive. So when you adjust or move the headset you can accidently fast foward or make a call. I am using the headset with an LG500 and it is very compatable.

4 of 5 Could be louder and check compatibility for your p Friday, May 18, 2007
A Customer from Herndon, VA
These headphones are fairly comfortable, Sounds good enough and the price($44 @ Buy.com) is great. But, they could be louder, not fully supported by all bluetooth phones, the fact the previous con isn't better advertised is a negative. If you're planning on using this thing as a stereo headphone and headset, make sure your phone supports Bluetooth remote control (AVRCP) profile. Check Jabra's website for a list of compatible phones. I have a Cingular 2125 (Smartphone) and I had to jump through hoops to get it working right. Its more of a hack then a true solution. Otherwise, I like it. Since no other bluetooth headphone/headset was under $50, this was a great deal.

5 of 5 Increased clairity Wednesday, April 18, 2007
BC from Princeton, NJ
I was very pleased with the design, ease of use and audio quality. I like the large LED display as well. If you need to listen to your cell with absolute clarity, this product works well. I've also used it as a computer headset with the USB port and it's also an excellent sound. Although a lot bulkier to carry around than the smaller in-your-ear devices, this fits a very useful niche.

5 of 5 Much better then the I/O Gear Thursday, April 12, 2007
A Customer from Columbus, OH
Their a little bulky but this set is more comfortable. I purchased the I/O Gear one at christmas, lasted about 2 months before the ear piece broke, just poorly constructed plastic. Was very unhappy that one broke. This one is new, sound quality is great. Love it has a microphone built in (I/o needed to plug it in). Only bummer is the I/O gear came with a blue tooth transmitter, this one doesnt. Fortunately my laptop, and phone have bluetooth built in. But for other people its not an easy integration. Over all I love it, good battery life, much sturdier design, and sounds good. I hate the blinking lights, you can turn them off but every time a new song switches they seem to turn back on. Kind of annoying at the gym. Also they're still plastic, if you arent very careful (and they're not small, not the easiest to transport) you can break them.

5 of 5 Very Happy Tuesday, March 13, 2007
A Customer from Waukesha, WI
I have been very happy with the Jabra BT620s headsets. They work great with my Cingular 3125 and the freedom of not being tied to wires has been great. Used the headsets while on the treadmill and they didn't feel awkward. I use them occasionally as a phone headset, but because I don't necessary want both ears covered while driving, they are best used for other situations. I have had some static, but a quick reboot fixed that problem. The hardest thing was to memorize what buttons do what and on what side of the head.

5 of 5 Better than I expected Monday, March 12, 2007
Dayvood from Ogden, Utah
I wanted some stereo bluetooth headphones to use primaryly for watching TV (on the computer) and I came across these jabra head phones. Read the reviews and was not too sure wether I would be happy with them or not. Decided to gamble the 70 bucks on them. After a couple of week of using them, I've decided I really like them. I also have a bluetooth cell phone that works great with them. I can stream music from the phone and it sounds great. the mic on the headphone work way beter then what I got from other reviews. I use them regulary in the car to make phone calls, I just talk normally and I've never had some one ask to repeat my self. The controls are take a bit of learning curve and are easy to bump, took to some time to figure out but generally work great. Some down sideds to the product is the audio in phone mode is way less than I would expect, you go from beautiful digital stereo music to this pre modern mono-tone scracy sounding audio, which is fine for phone calling, its just quite the contrast. The other down side, which I bought them with the understanding, they are not the most comfortable headphones, They are slightly heavy on the ears, But as I wear them more and more I geting used to them Iam liking them more and more. Depending on the device you pair them with you usally got great wireless range. Great sounding earphones, long lasting batteries, work great with the phone, I give them 5 out of 5

5 of 5 Very satisfied for price vs value Friday, March 09, 2007
A Customer from Indiana
I have had the Jabra BT620s for a few weeks now. I also paired it with the Jabra A120 bluetooth adapter for my Treo 700wx. I must admit it works very well. I can reach a distance of over 40 feet on a full charge with both items lisenting to music. It seems as the power goes down so does the distance. Battery life is on par with how it is rated. Paired easily as headset for hands free operation and automaticaly pairs with A120. Can answer phone and listen to music. Also can mute and control volumn through headset with Treo, however can't seem to advance to the next song using the headset. Sound quality is very good. If you have a small head you will really need to rely on the hook for your ear. I wore glasses for several ears so it does not bother me. Really like being wireless. Couple of cons as with any headset and the Treo I have had to pair it more than once. Also the music will skip if you don't get a good connection starting out. Usually turn both off and back on for it to work again.

5 of 5 It works well with my PDA and has long battery ope Thursday, March 08, 2007
A Customer from Austin, Tx
[Pros] 1) The sound quality is better than my PDA audio output, I didn't felt white noise that I felt with my PDA. It's one of the reason to buy kind of buletooth headset. 2) It has long operating time. I don't worry about the battery run-out. 3) I upgraded the firmware to fix minor problems. During the upgrade, I had a question and I could receive a kind response. So, I believe that they will provide further upgrades if there is any unexpected problems. 4) Long bluetooth communication distance than I expected. Really about 10m. [Cons] 1) It's somewhat big as for bluetooth headsets. In summer, it may make your ears warmer or stuffy. 2) Because I am wearing glasses, it's somewhat difficult to wear both the headset and the glasses. 3) There are a short pause sometimes, but it's not irratating. I think it's because my old PDA doesn't have sufficient performance. I think that's not the problem of the headset. [*] Although there is some cons, they are just what I expected. So, I'm very satisified with this headset

4 of 5 Great Sound!! Tuesday, February 27, 2007
A Customer from New York, NY
I bought this headset for the Motorola Q I had just purchased and it is GREAT! The sound quality is superb with mp3 music and it works great with phone calls. Easy to switch back and forth between calls and mp3s. It's quite comfortable to wear but I think there is room for an improvement. But, satisfied overall.

5 of 5 Good value? Sunday, February 18, 2007
A Customer from Indiana
Overall a good value. Pros: Audio quality is very good for a compact headset. Instantly connected to my LG VX8600. Though I haven't tried to connect to my PC either bluetooth or USB yet, I look forward to it (max 2 connections). Cons: Flashing blue light on each earpiece could be annoying, but it can be turned off (if you read the instruction manual). Makes one look like Princess Leia. Microphone is on front side of earpiece that while it works to pick up your voice in a crowded room (airport baggage claim) also picks up noise in the room. Easily turned back on while storing in it's included carrying bag.

5 of 5 Great headset for phone and music Friday, January 26, 2007
AJB from Austin, TX
I am very pleased with the Jabra BT620s. I am using the headphones with both a cell phone and a desktop computer. I have had no one complain of my voice quality using the headphones for calls and the controls work quite well. When using it with my PDA phone I am generally listening to music, when a call comes in the song pauses, you answer the call and when you hang up the song resumes right where it left off. These headphones are also one of more comfortable that I have used and the USB recharging capability means fewer cables to lug around.

5 of 5 Outstanding Product Friday, October 13, 2006
Will from Philadelphia PA
I purchased a Chocolate phone from verizon recently and needed a set of headphones that would transmit voice and music. After weeks of searching and purchasing products I was able to locate the Jabra BT 620s. This is an awesome product. It does everything advertised. I get great sound for my music. The only complaint is that when using the microphone people seem to hear a lot of background noise. I don't take or make a lot of calls so that doesn't matter much to me. The only thing I would add to this package is the ability to use the headphones with standard non bluetooth equiptment. I highly recommend this product to anyone who uses Bluetooth technology for stereo sound.

5 of 5 Excellent Sound Friday, September 22, 2006
A Customer from Lexington Park, Maryland
I love my Jabra BT620s Bluetooth Stereo Headset. They work really well with my 2gb LG VX8500 "Chocolate" cell phone. The sound is EXCELLENT. The battery life is excellent. The headset is big but it is very, very comfortable. A big plus is that I can wear any of my hats with the headset. The behind the ear is a little weird looking (Star Wars - Princess Lia) but the sound and comfort is so good! It is really nice that they included an extra pair of ear pads. I am really happy :) with this purchase. Bob
