2 of 5 BT5020 falls short Thursday, July 03, 2008
A Customer from Merino Colorado

I drive a semi truck at night and use my bluetooth alot. I replace my old bt250 with the BT5020. The reception is exceptional. My problem was the person I was talking to could only hear about a third of what I said. I bought two of these, one for another driver and we both experienced the same problem. I have since gone back to my old 250. It didn't matter if it was another cell phone or a land line no one could understand most of what I said.

4 of 5 Great sound, comfortable, bad background noise? Thursday, May 29, 2008
Blake from Tulsa, OK
I think that this headset is very comfortable. I can hear the other person clear. I can hear a LOT better than other headsets that I bought. I have bad hearing and some tones were hard to understand on other headsets, not this one. It sounds great. I have had some people say that it is hard to understand me when I am driving in my car. Might be road noise? I drive an SUV and it has almost no interior insulation. I use it mostly in my car, so it can be annoying. I might try wearing it on my other ear and turn down A/C fan, etc. Not sure. It also gets static noise when moving very far from handset. Not a big deal since phone is normally in my pocket. But range could be improved. I am happy with it. I just haven't figured out the quirk of the background noise yet.

1 of 5 good design, bad performance Wednesday, May 28, 2008
A Customer from Grand Rapids, MI
I liked the look and feel as soon as I got it out of the box. The problem is, the lack of flexibility with the adjustments. I had and have other earpieces, corded and cordless, and the most important thing is how it fits to your head/ear. If the earpiece doesn't allow for each individual and size of ear and in this case, your earlobe, it's not much good. The piece sticks out the side of my head because when the inner speaker is behind my earlobe, the mic is not flexible and sticks out. The background noise is also worse for listeners than a much older model of bluetooth I still own.

4 of 5 comfy, good value for the price Wednesday, May 21, 2008
theodore from boston, ma
comfortable fit for all day wear, you hardly know it's on. BUT.. sometimes the earpiece twists and is OUT of your ear. voice recognition is good IF you have no wind or extraneous noise around you. after six BT headsets this is the only one i had to turn DOWN, due to excellent volume. i like the fit and look of the unit and it is a solid value for the buy.com price.

2 of 5 So disappointing! Tuesday, April 15, 2008
A Customer from Brooklyn, NY
I looked high and low for this headset because it was rated so highly by Consumer Reports. I found the sound quality (listening) to be so-so. I've been told by others that they can barely hear me when I'm talking and that my voice sounds "distant". I've had to hang up on many calls because it was just impossible to have a conversation. The wind noise is terrible. Even the comfort is disappointing. I find that after about 1/2 hour my ear becomes sore. Although using the bud gel did help slightly. One last thing, the earbud part is supposed to rotate in both directions so you can use it in either ear. It does rotate but I find, not quite far enough. I keep trying to angle it so it faces my ear better. I read the reviews before I bought it and everyone was so happy with it. Maybe mine is just a dud, or maybe I'm just built differently. Oh well.

1 of 5 Jabra BT5020 NOT A GOOD HEADSET Sunday, April 06, 2008
Jaz from Florida
Jabra BT 5020 is not a good headset. Has more cons than pros. Pros: Long Battery Life Pros: Comfortable Cons: Low Quality Sound Cons: Bad Microphone/People complain they cant hear you Cons: Does not have nois reduction Cons: Cannot be used outdoors most of the time Cons: Cannot be used in crowded rooms Overall: If paying under $15 for headset than buy it, otherwise buy the Jawbone headset for best noise reduction.

3 of 5 Does not work good with my Treo 755 Tuesday, March 25, 2008
A Customer from Woodbridge, VA
I like how the Bluetooth fix on my ear, the only problem I have is it does not work good with my Treo 755. I have to turn off the Bluetooth after I end my phone calls because if I don't after about 15 minutes if someone call me and I have the Bluetooth on standby it will restart my Treo 755 and I will not get my call that is coming in. The person that is calling will have to leave me a message in order for me to know that someone was calling. I also have a Treo Bluetooth (I do not like the way it fix on my ear) but it does not cut my Treo phone off and that is how I know it is the Jabra Bluetooth that is doing it.

5 of 5 Great buy. Tuesday, March 25, 2008
Jeff from Kenner, LA
Very lightweight, fits nicely over ear. Can't even tell it's on. Part that fits in ear could be a little better built to stay in ear. Rotating feature tends to pull earpiece away from being tucked tightly in ear. But overall, a very nice unit.

3 of 5 Satisfied Tuesday, March 04, 2008
A Customer from Brooklyn, NY
Comfortable fit, nice looking unit. Recalling location of controls takes some effort. The little rubber cap (2 are supplied) that goes over area that fits into the ear is an ABSOLUTE MUST for improved hearing clarity, however it's very difficult to mount it on the earpiece and the rubber tears easily. Otherwise, the headset performs adequately for the price (as sold mid-January 2008).

4 of 5 Excellent bluetooth headset Wednesday, February 13, 2008
Shankar from Ann Arbor MI
I had used Scala 500, and the Jabra BT15o before. Both were hard to keep on. They were heavy and did not fit well over my rather small ears. They were also boomy with my phones. It also earned me a Klingon title. This BT2050 is lightwieght, sleek and disreet. I wear it all day withought an issue. The only problem is the little rubber cap that fits over the ear piece. It is tough to put on. The calls are clear and the best part is that it works with both my cell phones.

2 of 5 Nice desgin, but doesn't work very well Wednesday, February 06, 2008
A Customer from Belmont, CA
The static is unbelievable, unless you are sitting still. While walking around no one can understand what I'm saying and I can't hear them clearly. On this particular model (and not on most of the others) they strongly recommend that you "always wear your headset on the same side of the body as your mobile phone." Come on Jabra, that's just stupid. This essentially means that if you set your phone on the center console of your car (on your right) and wear your headset on the left, you'll have static. I've never owned a headset with a similar limitation. The manual states that you can turn off the vibrating feature but it doesn't explain how to do so.

4 of 5 Great headset. Friday, February 01, 2008
A Customer from Bronx, NY
This headset is very comfortable. This headset doesn't do well with wind but very few if any do. The only major complaint is that the ear gels/protector (plastic) comes off way too easily. Only comes with 2 and had come off many times while taking or putting on this headset.

5 of 5 Excellent Monday, January 28, 2008
A Customer from Atlanta, Georgia
I have gone through 3 different headsets in the last year and I think I have finally found it. It is by far the most comfortable, easy to hear but I need to learn the buttons to operate - thats my problem. You can hear so well that sometimes I have the volume up so high just from habit that it distorts their voice - turn it down and it is clear. Great ear piece.

5 of 5 Jabra Bluetooth Friday, January 18, 2008
Chris Jordan from Redondo Beach, CA
It's sleak and feels comfortable but the battery seems to not be as advertised which is supposed to be about three days stand by time. Other than the juice everything else is good. I give it 4 ****.

5 of 5 I really like this bluetooth Saturday, January 12, 2008
swk247 from Kansas City, MO
I had the previous Jabra model, the BT500, loved it, but it burned out while charging. I couldn't find the same model, so I ordered this one. The price was great, shipping was free, it's comfortable and it works like a charm. I do wish the plastic earpiece didn't pop off so easily. I lost the first one almost immediately and had to superglue the other one onto the unit to keep from losing it. All in all, it's a great product. The best Bluetooth I've used so far.

5 of 5 Perfect Fit Thursday, January 10, 2008
A Customer from Albuquerque NM
I bought this for my wife, she was hard to fit, most products hurt her ear. She loves this puppy. Fits behind the ear, the ear piece hangs in front of the ear (2 optional plastic ear pieces included to fit in the ear if desired). She does not worry about it falling out and feels fine all day. Unit rings and vibrates when a call is received.

5 of 5 Jabra BT5020 Saturday, January 05, 2008
LostInUtah from Springville, UT
This item is worth the price. Learning to use it easy. It is on the delicate side, so no rough treatment. The manual said it operates up to a distance of 33 feet, it does work with a lot of static, poor reception, poorly through walls. I found that it best operates with in a distance of 8ft. I keep my cell phone on me so I don't have any problem with it. It is much better looking than the other BT products, star trek looking. People do not even realize I have it on, unless I tell them. It does not interfere with hearing. It weighs about half an ounce and you soon forget you have it on, the vibration alert will startle you at first. I like it!

3 of 5 Pleasure to wear...OK on sound quality?? Saturday, January 05, 2008
A Customer from Phoenix, Arizona
I have bought and used extensively the Moto HS850 and HS810 wireless headsets. They performed well, but it was aggrevating that it seem to barely hang onto my ear and would flop off with a slight tilt of my head. These items only lasted so long from being repeatily dropped on the floor. I loved the feel of the JABRA right from the start. I put it on my ear, and it stays on, no wiggling at all. Light enough to forget it is still on my ear. It was disappointing though, to hear colleages comment on the difficulty hearing me during the conversation while using this headset. I was told that I seemed far away from my phone. Noise around me also distracted those I was calling because they thought I am talking to someone standing near me or their sounds/noise would drown out my voice as I am talking to the person on my call. Before, my wife stated she couldn't tell if I was using my Motorola Headset or not during our conversations. But, she noticed, disappointingly, when I started using the Jabra 5020. I talk to a lot of clients and other professionals in my field and I need to communicate information and give updates often. I will have to focus on picking the best time to make and take calls or I'll have to choose another headset. Unfortunatly, the large amount of time I spend on my phone, the jabra's weakness might be too difficult to tollerate. Thankfully Buy.com had a great price with free shipping, I won't feel as disappointed if I have to replace this unit. Wow, does it feel great to wear though.

5 of 5 Good value Friday, January 04, 2008
A Customer from Salem, OR
Clear sound. It does take a little practice fitting around the ear, but it doesn't flop around. Getting use to using the buttons takes time, Because of the taps and holds to make calls and answer calls are touchy. Beeps tell you when you've connected and hung up.

5 of 5 Jabra BT5020 Thursday, January 03, 2008
A Customer from Williamsburg, VA
It takes some getting used to, but the sound it better since the earpiece penetrates somewhat into your ear. It is better than the models that dangle from your ear.
