Bluetooth just got cool thanks to the BT3030. Not only does it look good, it sounds great. Finally a product that lets you listen to music from your mobile - without damaging your style!

BT3030 plays music from any enabled device such as mobile phone and Mp3 player. Play, pause, skip - remote control your music without touching your mobile.* Yep, that’s right - no wires!

No need for phone envy - keep it in your pocket! When a call comes in, your tune pauses and the call connects. A microphone in the dog tag picks your voice up, loud and clear. No hands, no missed calls.

The dog tag design keeps the wearing style simple. But if it doesn’t fit your wardrobe, use the optional clip. Your belt, your bag, your pants - you choose the look, you choose the style.

    Jabra BT3030 "Dog Tags" Review
    By: Kevin Cheng - DigitalReviews.net
    Published on: 2/21/2008 1:36 PM
The BT3030 is a decent performer for handling voice calls, but falls flat in the music department. If the device is only used for handling voice calls then the need for the "dog tag" remote control part is an unnecessary component, particularly if there is a tangled mess to sort out after having the BT3030 floating around in your bag. But if you want to make a fashion statement and music quality is not a high priority then the Jabra BT3030 is the go....read the full review

1 of 5 Nice in Theory Saturday, November 07, 2009
    Jonathan from Fukuoka

I just bought the BT3030 and I have to say that I'm more than a little disappointed. I originally purchased it because I wanted to be able to listen to music as well as use it for my cell phone which the BT3030 promised to do. After getting it, I immediately paired it up with my phone which seemed straight forward enough. I've done it many times before so it's not new to me. So far so good. I also paired it up with my iPod Touch. Okay, that went smoothly enough too. However I ran into my first problem. I pressed the play button on the dog tag and the iPod lit up and I was pleased at first, until the music come out really loud even though I had turned the volume down. I immediately took the headphones out so that I could readjust the volume only to find that I couldn't. When the BT3030 was active, it blocked out the manual volume control on the iPod and hitting the volume controls on the dog tag had absolutely no effect other than making beeping sounds to indicate that I hit the button. I'm currently still unable to adjust the volume although it sometimes comes out really loud and then just loud. I scoured the manual to find out if I was doing something wrong, but I still haven't found any information. I then paired it up with my computer so that I could use it with Skype. I already have another Jabra 125 headset that I use with Skype successfully so I was confident that it would work with little or not problems. How wrong I was. I was able to pair up my device to the computer and was even able to hear the test voice, but the microphone didn't work at all. I played with all my settings and I'm not new to computers so I know what I'm doing. In short, I can listen but not speak. I was able to use my other device with the computer still, so I'm pretty certain it's not a computer setting. I still haven't been able to confirm if the microphone works or not. I also have to say that their troubleshooting guide is woefully inadequate. It has a few troubleshooting tips for bad connections and problems with pairing. I would say that the only problem that I didn't have with this device is the pairing. That went very smoothly and easily. The controls themselves seem to be easy to use. Unfortunately, they don't all seem to work. The phone icon works as promised as well as the play and pause button. I was even able to fast forward songs both on my computer as well as my iPod and use the redial function. It's just the volume that I seem to have the most problems with. Right now I'm listening to songs on my computer at the lowest possible setting before it mutes and it's fairly loud. I also had to turn the computer volume all the way down. I cannot currently recommend this product as the volume is a big issue and I am unable to work the microphone. What good is a headset when you can't use the mic? I can't even use it as just as headphones on my iPod as the volume is way too high.

5 of 5 Excellent and Extremely Useful. Thursday, February 12, 2009
    A Customer from Londonderry, Vermont
I have used the headset for a week now, and live in an area with dead-zones or sparse reception. The BT3030 performs superbly. I clip it to my shirt underneath my coat, and it still receives my voice for the caller on the other end. I love this BT3030, and I am using it all the time. I was able to wear it in the college class without calling attention to myself. I cut one of the earphones off the cord because I only need one earbud, then run the cord behind my ear, and over the top, then into my ear. It is very discrete, very comfortable, and very functional. No one even realized it was there, and I could hear conversations in the surrounding room with my other ear which did not have an earbud. (College Instructors do not want cellphones ringing inside the classroom, yet I must be connected at all times, so this BT3030 does the job of invisibility and no ringing.) This headset is the absolute best. I was able to place a call to my husband by simply pressing the phone key on the dog tag: it was automatic and worked with precision. My husband is disabled and I must keep in contact at all times, plus be ready to take action in a moment's notice, so this is the very answer I had been searching for. No fumbling for the cellphone and attempting to dial numbers to call home; all I need do is press the phone icon on the dog tag, and it is connected. No worrying about the cellphone ringing and disturbing others when an emergency call comes in; I get the call in my ear and I press the dog tag to receive the call. All week, my husband has told me that he hears me better than he ever heard me before. He says the sound is clear as being in the same room with him. Thank you so very much Buy.com and ANTOnline for selling such a high quality product at an affordable price! This is the perfect little discrete bluetooth! You do not look like you have anything growing out of your ear. No one notices you even have it on unless you wear it outside your shirt or in a showy fashion. Simply fantastic!

5 of 5 Absolutly Freaking Love it!!! Tuesday, January 06, 2009
BuBu from Hudson, FL - Phoenix AZ
Superb! Strong Blue tooth signal even with the Media Player and the phone in the side leg pockets on my jeans. Only one caveat. The switch over to the phone while playing music is slow. Placing a voice dial call, I miss the phones prompt to "Say a Command." But this is common with other dual devices. Does not happen with my media player phone though. The microphone is a bit over sensitive though. Picks up my voice well, but also picks up all the background noise with crystal clarity! Best to hold in hand or clip on when moving around so it's not sliding around on your cloths. Exactly as the Specs on the Jabra page say's.

3 of 5 Ok headphones bad for workout. Monday, December 29, 2008
    A Customer from Clinton SC
These headphones were pretty good. I do think they were a bit light on base. Also I would not advise you to use them wile working out. They don't mix well with sweat. I have had mine replace twice because of this. The first time they just stopped coming on. I just thought it was a defective pair until the new pair did the same thing. I know I won't be using them during my workouts.

    5 of 5 great headset Tuesday, December 16, 2008
    A Customer from fresno, ca
I've enjoyed this at the gym and while working outside, but what was really cool was using as my mp3 player and answering the phone while skiing. Since the mike is under my jacket callers can hear you well even while zipping down the slopes.

    4 of 5 Great product Monday, November 03, 2008
    Steve from Colorado Springs, CO
Pros: Good sound quality, great range, easy to use. Cons: Minimum volume setting is still too loud. Works as advertised. Range is over 30 feet. Stereo bluetooth sounds great and connects easily to my Motorola Z9 phone. Voice commands (e.g. call John) work also. The minimum volume setting is still too loud for my taste. Not sure if this is related to my phone. I had to get some headphones that have a volume control built in so I could lower the volume.

    5 of 5 3 months and loving it.... Tuesday, October 07, 2008
Wireless (sort of) Stereo from Motown, IL
I use this with a Samsung Juke, and it works great. The noise reduction is better than when I talk directly into the phone, and I rarely have problems with signal or clarity. It was a little difficult to get it paired to a mogo BT adapter plugged into my laptop, but once connected, quality is good. Music sounds great with the included earbuds, and especially the Bass response. My last pair was a cheap philips set, and the jabra buds blow those away. They isolate well, so even when I'm mowing the lawn, I don't have to turn it up all the way. Battery life is excellent, getting me through a whole work day easily. mini usb charging makes it convenient to take on trips, or charge at the office. My only gripes: 1. The earbuds have started (after 3 months of daily use) to have an intermittent loose connection. Pretty sure it's the wire, not the BT unit. But hey, I guess that is why I picked the BT system with changeable earbuds, right. 2. The amp distorts when it is turned up all the way(which you rarely need to do)

5 of 5 If you only get one B T stereo headset, this is it Monday, September 01, 2008
    Loyal customer from Lebanon, Pennsylvania
The Jabra BT3030 is a top quality stereo Blue tooth device. Easy to use and comfortable to wear, lightweight and convenient. I like the fact that it has a 3.5 mm jack instead of a 2.5 like most other devices, capable of using all of my current favorite headphones and earbuds.also the Jabra earbuds that come with the device are of excellent quality and sound terrific.I use the BT3030 with my TYTN II Cell phone the music and the call quality are excellent.i would not have to think twice about purchasing this device again.

5 of 5 Works just as described Tuesday, August 26, 2008
    Tom from Chicago, IL
I was looking for a product which combined the range of features this one offers: * Small and portable * Uses any headphones * Simple phone notification and use * Integrated microphone for phone use * Bluetooth 2.0 A2DP and ACRCP functionality and controls * Easy syncing * Simple recharging via USB. This item delivers on all of the above. The sound quality is decent, and it pretty much functions as Jabra claims. Nice product.

    5 of 5 Works like a charm Monday, August 04, 2008
    A Customer from TX
Pros: Great sound quality: initially I was worried that sound quality would be bad. But the BT3030 has surprisingly good sound quality. Good range: I can walk around my entire apartment (aprox. 800 sf) and wont have any breakups in the sound Very light and water resistant: Makes a perfect workout companion. I can leave my cell phone in the corner of the gym and do running, weights without worrying about the phone. Cons: Low volume: really have the crank up the volume. It's true what everyone says, this unit is a bit soft on the volume. Belt Clip can be improved: I use the belt clip, and it seems like they have room to improve upon it. The current clip feels cheap, and like it'll snap if you're not careful. Why not make it into a clip the the Apple Shuffle, they're identically in weight and size. Overall I'm 90% satisfied with my purchase. It does what it suppose to do. Only wish the volume is a bit higher.

5 of 5 Excellent choice for tereo bluetooth Friday, July 11, 2008
    WBFH from Inman, SC
Used for cell phone, MP3 and computer VOIP. No problem pairing and maintains pairing with two devices. Excellent audio quality for phone and MP3. Although the included headphones are good and have the advantage of a very short cord you can use your favorite stereo headphones with it for highest audio quality. Callers have stated that my voice comes through clear and recognizable without noticeable background noise which is a definite plus over many headphones both wired and BT. It is BT v2.0 compliant. It also has a longer battery life than similar units. Overall excellent value at the original MSRP and even better at current price of $50.

5 of 5 Great BT Headset Thursday, June 26, 2008
    Mike from Pepperell, Mass
This headset is great! If you like to listen to music and be able to talk on your cell this is for you. Being able to switch out the actual ear buds make it the main reason I like it so much. You are only dependent on the quality of the ear buds you use. Even the supplied Jabra ones are good. But if you have higher quality buds....you'll love this type of BT headset. If you want to use this as a primary headset, beware that you'll be fine in most areas....it's just a bit weird to have both ears filled with sound on a call....it takes some getting used to. Even driving it's pretty weird having so much sound cut off from the outside world. You can use this headset in semi noisy environments....but it picks up background noise easily. If you listen to alot of music and want to isolate background noise...this is the one for you. I would buy this item again without hesitation!

4 of 5 Quick, Easy, and Comfortable Wednesday, June 18, 2008
    M3K from Fairfax, VA
Bought this to use with my HTC Mogul phone because the headphones the phone came with simply didn't cut it and HTC uses a propriortory plug for their audio jack so it was impossible to find a good replacement. I wasn't sure about using bluetooth headphones worrying about battery life but this works well with the phone and doesn't seem to rape the battery at all. Sound quality is super for music play back but wish the voice calls would be a little bit more clear. When talking to others they say i sound fine but their voice sounds a little distant or muffled. That's probably the only complaint I with this unit.

    5 of 5 Great Device!!! Saturday, May 17, 2008
    Mike from Pepperell Mass
I've had the BT3030 for 3 weeks now, it's unbelievable....I'm not really into listening to mp3's off my phone......but this device has changed that.......I find myself listening to my music when I'm waiting or even shopping. You plug your headset ear buds or use the included ones that Jabra supplied (which by the way are pretty damn good). My unit came with a wall wart so I don't have the usb charging option as others have said.....but the battery life of the unit is about 7-8 hrs straight usage so no worries there. If you're into music from your phone.......I tell you this is the one to get for the price.....I looked at the Plantronics 855 but the price was just too high for me. At 50 bucks you can't go wrong. As for using it as a phone bt device the noise cancelation from the ear buds are superior. If you are distracted by outside noise ......using this headset should really help you in that aspect. The sound the mic picks up is clear and people on the other end have no idea you are using a bt headset. I put the dogtag underneath my shirt and looks as if I am listening to a ipod or something. I do get a few weird looks because the unit gives off a purple flashing led at 8 sec's intervals.....no big deal....but I would imagine women wearing it under their shirt....... might have second thoughts about drawing attention to their chest with flashing lights....lol All I can say is I love this thing! I would buy another in a heart beat!

3 of 5 Jabra BT3030 - OK but not loud enough for noisy en Monday, May 12, 2008
    Rand from Brookfield, CT
The dogtag Bluetooth worked perfectly out of the box. USB charger was convenient. Pairing was smooth with my Blackberry Curve. Transfers phone calls smoothly and cleanly between music and back again. Phone calls are clear and plenty loud enough. Music is clear but with both the Blackberry and the BT3030 maxed out on volume it is hard to hear quiet passages or soft music. You're not going to mow a lawn with this for your tunes but in the office or home or even car it will serve you well.

I like this item because it allows me to use any headphones or speakers that plug into its 3.5mm jack. I currently use it with Bose in-ear headphones and it sounds great. It is easy to pair and I have multiple computers and phones that I pair it with.

5 of 5 WOW WOW WOW. Wednesday, February 06, 2008
    Bil from Malborough, Massachusetts.
I love the BT3030. I use it with the Jabra A120s on my iPod as well as with my Cyber Blue Bluetooth USB dongle. With the a120s I get about 40 feet away line of site (cubicles) or less than 20 feet through standard home walls. With the CyberBlue dongle however, I can use it all the way into the restroom which is over 60' away & through 2 walls & a bathroom stall. With the A120s you can only control the volume, but with the dongle I can play/pause & skip forward & back. I use this with my Oticon Tego P hearing aid & it works so much better than my Eli bluetooth adapter. The Eli would last MAYBE 1.5 hours for music, a bit more for talk. The BT3030 lasts about 5-7 hours depending on the volume I have it set to. It's really no larger than a real dogtag but just over a cm thick. It hangs from a ball link chain or from your zipper if you want. It charges via a USB adapter. Linking it with the a120s is NOT mentioned in the documentation, but here's how it's done: 1: turn on the a120s (make sure it's plugged into your audio source) 2: turn on the BT3030 3: wait about 20 seconds. 4: that's it. For the build in blue tooth on phones or PCs it's only slightly trickier as you need to use the password which is "0000" but once they are paired up, all you need to do is select "connect" on the device to be listened to & then turn on the BT3030. Even though there are bluetooth headphones out there, I like the BT3030 because you can use it with ANY headphone that can attach to a 3.5mm jack. In my case it's my hearing aid, but you can use your favorite set. The ONLY downside to it is that you need a usb to charge it and you can't continue using it while it's charging. But it's a minor complaint. I Also, it'd be nice if it had a user replaceable battery.
