5 of 5 Affordable Bluetooth Friday, August 28, 2009 John from Seattle WA
I have a Plantronics Voyager 510 at the office and the Jabra A7010 at home. The Jabra is half the cost, smaller, better looking, and functions just as well for me.
Other reviewers note that this hub pairs with lots of headsets. I'll add an oddball device to that list -- it paired effortlessly with a Phonak iCOM. I've read elsewhere on the web of users pairing with Widex devices. So if you happen to be one of the (few) people with bluetooth-capable hearing aids, you really must look into this device as a superb way to make a bluetooth connection to a landline, not just to a cell phone. You will be pleased.
Possibly because I already had the Plantronics and was experienced with hubs, I found setup of this device to be absolutely trivial. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Wierd but it really works Tuesday, March 10, 2009 John D. Wilson from Asheville, NC
I have to say that I really didn't understand how this would work when I read about it, my desk phone lacks documentation and the owners manual was a little obscure at points (kept referring me to my headset manual or phone manual).
But after some trial and error, talking to office colleagues, and a pleasant but ultimately unhelpful call to Jabra support, I got it working.
I'd give "ease of use" a 2 for setup, then a 5 for post-setup. If you have someone in your office who manages your phone system and can help out out with any questions, then the setup rating will probably be a 4 or 5. But Jabra should anticipate that many people will be doing this without support and give some suggestions on how typical office phone systems work for first-time headset installers.
It really does give very good quality connection to my headset, a Jabra BT530 (which I've also reviewed, a good choice but a couple of bugs).
It would be nice if this had a built-in mute, my phone and headset both have them but sometimes that isn't the most convenient option. There is also an echo occasionally that seems to have something to do with whether I have used the speakerphone at some point during the call, I can't tell if that's my lousy phone or the hub. 3 of 5 Could Be Better Tuesday, November 25, 2008 Jason Claveau from Las Vegas, NV
When I recieved the Bluetooth Hub, I thought that this would solve most of my wired problems with my office phone. The device does work pretty well in means of turning on and off when needed.
I do wish that the echo would go away but seems to come and go, but when it is there it sure is annoying. There could be a Mute option so that the headset would mute, the mute on the phone it self does not carry over to the headset at all and that is a bit disturbing in a noisy office environment. People around me are heard by the person on the line.
I would most likely recommend saving another hundred or two and purchasing the Plantronics Bluetooth for your office phone. Leave this one alone. Was this review helpful?

The 7010 hub was one of several "hands free" options we considered for our staff. Some of the more dedicated systems - while proven - were way beyond our budget. The 7010 hub "pairs" with any conventional bluetooth headset - we have the 510 Voyager headsets from Plantronics - allowing us maximum flexibility in personal choice (and costs) of headsets. The sound reproduction and ease of set up were excellent - occasionally we'd have to "re-pair" the headset and hub, but that was a minor inconvenience. All in all, I'd rank this as an outstanding value and option for individuals wanting to use bluetooth technology in an office setting. In addition, if one has the right headset, you can actually pair the headset with this hub and with your cell phone, allowing seamless transition from the car to the office. Way to go, Jabra!!
