A set of swooning smooth-jazz tunes, ITALIA features a number of guest vocalists, including Andrea Bocelli (on the gentle title track) and Paula Cole (a spare, elegant version of "The Very Thought of You"), along with the late Dean Martin, whose unmistakable croon turns up on a lightly swinging rendition of "I've Grown Accustomed to Your Face." Botti shines the brightest, however, on instrumental pieces, most notably his warm, laid-back takes on two classic numbers by revered Italian composer Ennio Morricone, "Deborah's Theme" (from ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA) and "Gabriela's Oboe" (from THE MISSION). | Producer: Bobby Colomby | Musical Guests | | Dean Martin | | Paula Cole | | Andrea Bocelli | | Brian Bromberg |
