Author Bio
Jack Prelutsky
Born and raised in New York City, children's poet and author Jack Prelutsky had a variety of interests and careers, such as opera and carpentry, before turning to children's poetry in his early 20s. Well known for his numerous books and collections, including THE RANDOM HOUSE BOOK OF POETRY FOR CHILDREN, IT'S RAINING PIGS AND NOODLES, and READ-ALOUD RHYMES FOR THE VERY YOUNG, he was named the first Children's Poet Laureate in 2006 by the Poetry Foundation.
