New Orleans native Harry Connick, Jr. grew up surrounded by jazz, and although his subsequent career has taken him into pop territory and on to the big screen as a movie star, he remains at heart a New Orleans piano player. This surprisingly cohesive collection keeps to the jazz side of the street as it draws tracks from Connick's early Columbia albums and soundtrack work, including material from We Are in Love, When Harry Met Sally, The Godfather, Pt. 3 and the delightful instrumental album Lofty's Roach Souffle, which found Connick working in his natural habitat as part of a piano trio.
