| | After his last two highly rated specials and multi-platinum selling albums, Dane Cook reinvented his act and took it to the stage in front of 400 people at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood. This intimate show was performed in a nightclub atmosphere where Dane shared the audience's energy in a real-time performance, without a safety net. Here, he showcases a darker and more personal set with cutting edge material that pushes the envelope. The double-digipak contains a full-length CD of his best new material plus a DVD documenting the making of the album. CD Track Listing 1. Intro 2. Obama 3. Self Assassination 4. Vernacular 5. | | Album Notes and Credits | Notes & Personnel Info | | Halfway through Dane Cook's 2009 CD ISOLATED INCIDENT, released a couple years after his star hit supernova unleashing the inevitable backlash, on the track "Haters," Cook deals with the his critics; he jokes about Googling his own name and then, when he finds the glut of "Dane Cook Sucks" sites, exclaims, "This Dane Cook's a [jerk].I'm not a fan anymore." A few minutes later, Cook is viciously eviscerating another virtual heckler to the crowd's delight. This is Cook in a nutshell: abrasive, beloved, and ready to turn his wit's rapier on himself at a moment's notice. On ISOLATED INCIDENT, the jokes fly with the spring-heeled delivery and whip-crack energy one expects from a Dane Cook show. | | In the liner notes to Isolated Incident, Dane Cook thanks "all the people that stayed by me when my world was collapsing." Most would think he is referring to the ongoing accusations of joke stealing from his peers or maybe some Hollywood vehicles that bombed, but the thick-skinned comedian is actually talking about something truly difficult, the deaths of both his mother and father in a two-year span. As a result, Isolated Incident is, to a degree, the "darker" and "more personal" album the pre-release hype trumpeted, one that draws laughs when it goes gross or mean and becomes a little unsettling when the elephant-in-the-room issue of Cook's "Haters" is addressed. The track comes after a very moving "Mom and Pops" and then gives way to "Adoption," with Cook thinking about a family-oriented future. That's a soul-searching whirlwind in just ten minutes, and as the routine moves on to some hackneyed topics, it seems a great missed opportunity that this caring, sharing, and most of all genuine Cook wasn't explored further. His material about the recently elected President Obama was already hackneyed as the CD was being released, and if you haven't heard a routine about the voodoo doll-type joy of deleting people from your cell phone, you didn't attend your local comedy club during the 2008 season. Speaking of comedy clubs, Isolated Incident was recorded at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood, an intentionally small show for the stadium-sized star Cook. Not the album to start with but the loyal fan gets a very different, revealing kind of show, plus a bonus DVD featuring the "making of" this rare gig. ~ David Jeffries | Producer: Craig Stuart Garfinkle; Dane Cook; Jack Vaughn; Brian Volk-Weiss; Barry Katz |

| | Bio | | | Dane Cook Named a "comedian phenom and icon" by Entertainment Weekly, Dane Cook has maintained his reputation as one of today's most prolific stand-up comedians while simultaneously distinguishing himself as a charismatic and versatile actor in a variety of film and television projects. Last fall, Cook starred in his first leading role as the likable slacker Zack in Lionsgate's Employee of the Month, leading the romantic comedy to a box office gross of over $30 million and DVD sales that topped the charts. After inking a multi-faceted production deal with HBO early last year, Cook created, directed and starred in the network's nine-part comedy documentary series Tourgasm, and wrote, executive produced and starred in Vicious Circle, a feature-length stand-up event. Numerous film and television projects include starring roles in Touchstone's Dan in Real Life (with Steve Carell), Lionsgate's romantic comedy, Good Luck Chuck (with Jessica Alba), and MGM's thriller, Mr. Brooks (with Kevin Costner, Demi Moore and William Hurt). Through his production company, SUperFInger Entertainment, Cook also produced and starred in Ex-Family for The Weinstein Company. Cook has appeared in a number of feature films, including Waiting... (with Ryan Reynolds and Anna Farris), London (with Jessica Biel and Chris Evans), Torque (with Ice Cube), and Mystery Men (with Ben Stiller). Combining energetic physical comedy, clever wordplay and trenchant observations about human behavior, Cook's unique brand of stand-up and accessible guy-next-door attitude have galvanized audiences of all ages. Two years ago, he catapulted to media headlines when his sophomore comedy CDx2/DVD, Retaliation, bucked industry trends by debuting at #4 on the Billboard 200. The album, which has hit double platinum, marked him as the highest charting comedian in 27 years, earning him a place alongside best-selling comedy vets Bill Cosby, George Carlin and Steve Martin. His debut CD/DVD release, Harmful If Swallowed, appeared on eight different Billboard charts and is certified platinum.
